Story
This handsome boy needs a very special person in his life, as he struggles to trust many humans. Prince might like someone immediately, but it is rare. He did not like his foster mom at all initially, but now he is loving and adoring of her. He is an outgoing and fun dog once he chooses to trust someone; otherwise, he makes it clear that he prefers to be left alone. Prince lives with many other dogs and is exceptionally playful with the smaller dogs in his home. He has not been cat tested, but ignores the cats in their catio in his foster home. He has learned to accept and walk on a leash and even enjoys going for walks now. He is house-trained and has good house manners, which is excellent because he hates being in a crate. He needs a home with minimal people coming and going, and/or a place where he can be away from those who do not live with him, and where there are no young children. His perfect home would be with his human, and how many other dogs his human would like to have live with them.Prince is fully vetted, current with vaccinations, microchipped, neutered, and on flea and tick, as well as heartworm, prevention.

Story
Meet Chunk -- the Ultimate Lovebug in a Furry Package. Born around April 1, 2025, Chunk entered the world as a fluffy little puffball, earning his name with his irresistible roundness and charm. Today, he&#39s blossomed into a cuddly, goofy, affectionate bundle of joy with a heart as big as his paws. Chunk is a gentle soul who lives for tummy rubs and thrives on love. He adores everyone and everything: people, cats, grasshoppers, squeaky toys, you name it. His sweet, expressive eyes will melt your heart, and when he gets you all to himself, he&#39ll melt right into your arms. His favorite things include treats, toys, playtime, cuddle time, and -- most of all -- affection. He gets along beautifully with other dogs, cats, and children. While he can get a little rowdy when excited, especially around smaller kids, and will just need gentle guidance to learn calm manners. Chunk is looking for a forever home that can offer patience for some more training (he&#39s not housebroken yet), walks and outdoor playtime, a secure yard to romp, and indoor bed for snuggles. In return, Chunk will shower his family with endless love, loyalty, and laughter. He truly is the perfect dog and whoever welcomes him home will be blessed by his giant heart. Chunk is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and boosters, microchipped, and currently on monthly NexGard and Heartgard. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Chunk is participating in the DFW Rescue Me guest dog program, so ongoing care and custody is provided by her foster, not by DFWRM.October 26, 2025, 6:21 pm

Story
Meet Theo -- Your Gentle, Playful Companion! Born around April 1, 2025, Theo is a distinguished young pup with wise eyes and a heart full of sweetness. He adores playing with his littermates and foster family -- adults, kids, and even cats! His floppy ears often flip inside out, and he&#39s happiest lounging on the couch with his people. Theo is a toy enthusiast, especially stuffed ones (though he&#39s known to un-stuff them with gusto!). He&#39s all about treats, cuddles, and soaking up attention. While he can get a little rowdy when excited, he just needs gentle guidance around smaller children. Theo is looking for a loving home with time to help him grow -- crate training, leash walking, and housebreaking are still on his to-do list. He&#39d thrive with an active family, a yard to play in, and a cozy indoor bed to call his own. With his giant heart and playful spirit, Theo will fill your life with joy, loyalty, and endless affection. Theo is neutered, UTD on shots and boosters, microchipped, and currently on monthly NexGard and Heartgard. Theo is part of the Guest Dog Program through DFW Rescue Me. His foster family will bring him to a home visit for any potential forever families for a meet and greet. Story
Hi, Ross here! If you are looking for a best buddy who likes to be on the go and have fun, I’m your guy. I was born this past July and am an Aussie Mix, like my Mom, although we are not sure about my Dad’s breed. I'm sweet and cuddly, with soft white fur, and sparkly dark eyes.   I'm great with kids, cats, other dogs. I like going new places and meeting new friends.  I'm very well adjusted!  I'm crate trained and mostly housetrained. I would love a person or family who will make me a part of their whole live, for my whole life. I’m available on a Foster-to-Adopt basis. Approved fosters will: Keep the puppy safe and well taken care of (all pets in the home must be up to date on shots and heartworm prevention) Children in the home must be over five years old. Provide adequate socialization, structure and predictable routines.  Provide positive reinforcement training only; no prong, shock, or choke chains will be provided or tolerated. RHS will provide training resources for you as well as offer a rescue rate with our trainer should you want home or classroom training Take the puppy to all vet appointments at our vet (at RHS expense) Pay $50 deposit upon placement, to be applied to the final adoption fee Adopt the puppy once all medical care is complete, including spay or neuter at least 6 months of age. STIL INTERESTED?  NEXT STEPS: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor, and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets.   ##2466427##

Story
This smart, beautiful girl has a wonderful spirit and gentle soul.  We just love her to bits.   She's a pretty savvy chick.  She figured out the doggie door pretty quick and takes herself out to go potty or a respite from the hustle and bustle of a busy doggy filled houshold. She's sensitive and sweet and can read a room in 10 seconds flat.  Good vibe, bad vibe?  She knows.  She loves hanging out with the resident dogs and patrolling the backyard for squirrels. Glory has also discovered the toy basket and loves to empty it and even take toys out the doggie door.  She enjoys walks with her foster mom and her "pack", exploring new neighborhoods and fields. Oh - and she's been a momma - raised to kiddos, Ross and Betsy.  Also available for adoption.  She was a good mom, and is a most excellent dog.   You'd be lucky if she was your dog.   ##2466424##

Story
Coming soon!! Tucker is now 5 1/2 years old and 65 lbs.  The family he was adopted to gave him to a random stranger who turned out to be homeless.  He was let loose by this random stranger and hit by a car sustaining a right femur fracture.  After regaining ownership of Tucker we were able to have his leg repaired on 7/16/25.  He is a sweet, people and dog friendly boy and will be available for adoption after he recovers from surgery in the lovng and caring home of his foster family.     Tucker is an adorable 5 month old black and white cattle dog mix (best guess!). He currently weighs about 28 pounds and still has some growing to do. He was abandoned at a local lake and was unsure of people at first but has been living in a loving foster home with two other dogs that he enjoys playing and cuddling with. Tucker would love a home with a friendly dog or two and/or ollder children who want to throw the ball for him.  A fenced yard and an owner willing to take him on adventures is ideal.  To meet Tucker please fill out our no obligation application at www.dsda.org/adopt * Adoption Fees: Puppies (under 12 months) - $300+taxDogs (12 months and over) - $250+tax Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Vet checks are required. All resident animals must be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative (if applicable). Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. Must have a secure fence if in a house. Must remove any and all toxic plants in the back yard prior to home visit. Applicant is home more than not. Home visit is required. For this reason, we adopt locally in the Dallas area. Any poisonous plants must be removed from the yard before a dog can be placed.  ##624985##
