Story
How adorable are we? Hi I’m Sadie. I’m a 3 month old female dachshund mix, around 5 lbs and I have three brothers. We are ready to go now and cute as little buttons! If you are looking for a small, devoted friend, you just found us... we will make the perfect addition to any family. Dachshunds are known for being playful and energetic but with these little legs we are sure you can keep up. Please keep in mind that small children maybe rough for us so be sure that if you have smalls that they don't treat us like a toy. We just want walks and love and play and treats... the list goes on... Hurry, pups like us do not last long! *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kenneled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*

Story
HE WAS FOUND WITH TWO PUPPIES UNDER A HIGHWAY BRIDGE. UNFORTUNATELY, ONE OF THEM TESTED POSITIVE FOR DISTEMPER AND, BECAUSE THE DISEASE WAS ALREADY VERY ADVANCED, HE DIED A FEW DAYS AFTER STARTING HIS TREATMENT. ELMER AND THE OTHER PUPPY, TITAN, WERE PLACED IN QUARANTINE AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE. HOWEVER, ONE DAY AFTER THE END OF QUARANTINE, TITAN SHOWED DISTEMPOR SYMPTOMS AND, LIKE THE FIRST PUPPY, DIED DESPITE RECEIVING TREATMENT. THIS WAS HOW ELMER BECAME THE ONLY SURVIVOR OF THIS RESCUE. TODAY ELMER IS COMPLETELY HEALTHY AND WITHOUT ANY KIND OF SEQUEL AND IS LOOKING FOR A LOVING FAMILY THAT WILL CONSENT HIM. ELMER IS A FAITHFUL COMPANION WHO LOVES TO BE HUGGED AND Cuddled. HE WILL LOVE TO TAKE WALKS AND WALKS WITH YOU. IT IS PLAYFUL AND FRIENDLY, WHICH MAKES IT IDEAL TO BE WITH CHILDREN AND LITTLE ONES. HE LIKES TO EXPLORE, DISCOVER NEW THINGS, MEET PEOPLE AND ABOVE ALL PLAY. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

Story
Lady J Yoo Hoo!! Hello there!! Here I am! Down here!! Well, now that I have your attention, I can tell you about myself. My name is Lady, or Lady J, or “Jaws” or you can call me by my preferred nom de plume… “the Queen”. Foster mom calls me that and I have no idea why, but I like it! I am approximately 7 years old and am a dachshund mix of some sort. I am a long-waisted girl of 18 pounds. Foster mom has had me on a little diet as I was a little chunkier when I first arrived. I was found hanging around a convenience store so I think that all that fast food probably had something to do with the excess waistline I had. I am almost perfect now though, at least my weight is. My back story is mostly unknown, but one can surmise that I have had a few rough times by looking at me. First off, my lower jaw is broken on the left side. The proper name is mandible, and the dogtor told foster mom that it is an old break that not much of anything can be done about. Doc says if I can eat ok, and boy can I eat, then there is no problem. I do have an appointment with the doc to have the baby making bits taken out (yay! Had enough litters to last a lifetime!) and get my teeth cleaned and a broken one taken out. Not sure how I broke that but maybe when my jaw was broken. That is the past and I am looking forward to my future and forever home. I am housebroken and get along with the other pups and the cat who I live with. Foster mom says I can be a little bossy at times but nothing that has a bite with it. As if I could bite anything with a dislocated jaw. I love to sleep on the bed and can climb the stairs to the bed without any problem. I do like to jump off the bed which foster mom tries to stop me from doing because of my sausage shape, she says it is bad for me. I don’t really bark much, and love to spend as much time as possible with my people. If you would like to be my people, please apply to adopt me. $200 In State Adoption Fee (in Texas) $400 Out of State Fee (includes Transportation to your area) $50 Temporary fuel surcharge.

Story
ChuyAnimal Profile: Chewy is an estimated 12-18 month old, ~15-20lb chihuahua/dachshund mix (best guess) who was found as a stray in San Bernardino and completed his stray hold with our rescue partner ARF. He has been assessed to be friendly and social with people and dogs. He loves to run and play with people and is absolutely adorable; we are smitten! We will share more information as we get to know him in foster care.  Foster Updates: Meet Chewy! He is your perfectly sized friend, just under 20lbs and ready for all your cuddles and adventures! Chewy was pretty nervous when he first arrived with us, and needed a few days to acclimate and realize he was in safe hands. After a few days of decompressing, he was ready to show off his cuddly side and love for cozy dog beds. Chewy is a great companion in his foster home. He bonds quick with his people and loves to hangout by your side and accompany you on house tasks or keeping you company if you work from home. He is still a bit nervous in the outside world and can be intimidated by other dogs or new people. He does best with a slow introduction when meeting someone new, and he is curious about other dogs but does best with a confident handler on the other end of the leash. Chewy is learning some great leash manners in his foster home and getting more comfortable day by day. Chewy would do best in an adult-only forever  home. He wouldn't mind being a solo dog, but would also benefit from another calm, confident dog in his pack.  Adoption Information: Adoption fee is $575 which includes neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, recent vet visit and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Ruffles was a stray intake in San Bernradino, rescued in collaboration with our rescue partner ARF, and arriving to Seattle area foster care on 3/2/25. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.June 28, 2025, 8:46 pm

Story
Meet Kuromi! This gorgeous 3-year-old, 13-pound mini dachshund is all done raising litters and ready to enjoy the good life! With her sleek all-black coat and soulful eyes, Kuromi is a true beauty inside and out.She came to us after her previous owners moved somewhere that didn’t allow dogs. Understandably, she’s a bit timid at first, but once she feels safe, her sweet and gentle nature shines through. Kuromi thrives with the companionship of another dog and would do best in a home where she has a canine friend to help her feel secure. She’s house trained, good with people, and absolutely loves the company of other dogs. If you’re looking for a loyal little sweetheart who blossoms with love and friendship, Kuromi may be the perfect fit.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.July 11, 2025, 11:43 am
