Story
HE WAS FOUND WITH TWO PUPPIES UNDER A HIGHWAY BRIDGE. UNFORTUNATELY, ONE OF THEM TESTED POSITIVE FOR DISTEMPER AND, BECAUSE THE DISEASE WAS ALREADY VERY ADVANCED, HE DIED A FEW DAYS AFTER STARTING HIS TREATMENT. ELMER AND THE OTHER PUPPY, TITAN, WERE PLACED IN QUARANTINE AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE. HOWEVER, ONE DAY AFTER THE END OF QUARANTINE, TITAN SHOWED DISTEMPOR SYMPTOMS AND, LIKE THE FIRST PUPPY, DIED DESPITE RECEIVING TREATMENT. THIS WAS HOW ELMER BECAME THE ONLY SURVIVOR OF THIS RESCUE. TODAY ELMER IS COMPLETELY HEALTHY AND WITHOUT ANY KIND OF SEQUEL AND IS LOOKING FOR A LOVING FAMILY THAT WILL CONSENT HIM. ELMER IS A FAITHFUL COMPANION WHO LOVES TO BE HUGGED AND Cuddled. HE WILL LOVE TO TAKE WALKS AND WALKS WITH YOU. IT IS PLAYFUL AND FRIENDLY, WHICH MAKES IT IDEAL TO BE WITH CHILDREN AND LITTLE ONES. HE LIKES TO EXPLORE, DISCOVER NEW THINGS, MEET PEOPLE AND ABOVE ALL PLAY. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Mikey! Mikey is a 1-year-old, 15 lb Dachshund/Spaniel mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. He’s now looking for a very special home that can give him the time, patience, and understanding he needs to thrive. Mikey is a shy, sensitive boy who can be skittish in new situations and around new people. He is considered a flight risk, so he will need a calm, secure home committed to keeping him safe while he learns to trust and settle in. He’s looking for a quiet, predictable environment—ideally outside of the busy city—where he can decompress, build confidence, and establish a steady routine. Because of his sensitive nature, Mikey will need an adult-only home with adopters who have experience working with shy or fearful dogs. Having another well-adjusted, confident dog in the home would be a huge benefit for Mikey. He takes comfort in other dogs and would love a buddy to help show him the ropes and build his confidence. While he may be reserved at first, once Mikey forms a bond and feels safe, he shows his true colors—sweet, cuddly, and deeply loving with his people. He just needs time, patience, and a gentle approach to get there. Mikey has not been tested with cats. Mikey is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Meet Sweetpea! Sweetpea is an 8-year-old, 10-lb purebred Dachshund with a huge love for people and a heart that’s ready for a fresh start. This little girl came to us after experiencing some neglect, including a skin condition and significant dental disease. Our veterinary team recently performed a dental procedure and had to remove all of her teeth. During that visit, they also discovered an old fracture in her jaw that left the lower jaw with very little bone support. Because of this, Sweetpea’s jaw is fragile and she will need to stay on a special soft-food diet for the rest of her life. She cannot have anything hard (including kibble or crunchy treats), as further damage to the jaw could require surgical removal of the lower portion. Right now she does great eating soft foods like shredded chicken, canned dog food, and soft options such as baby rice cereal. Sweetpea gets along well with other dogs, but for her safety we are looking for a home without other pets. This will prevent any chance of her accessing hard food or kibble that could harm her jaw. Despite everything she’s been through, Sweetpea has a wonderful personality. She absolutely loves people and enjoys soaking up attention. She does not have separation anxiety and can be left home alone without issue. She is also pee pad trained and does well with a routine. She will need to be taken outside shortly after eating, as she tends to need a bathroom break soon after meals. Sweetpea’s ideal home: • No other animals (to keep her diet strictly soft food) • An attentive adopter who can carefully manage her special diet • Adults only household able to closely monitor her jaw health • Someone looking for a loving little companion who adores people Sweetpea may have some special needs, but she has so much love to give. With the right home, this sweet little dachshund will happily spend her days cuddling, enjoying her soft meals, and being someone’s devoted companion. Sweetpea is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $300.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hey-a! I’m Mario ❤️ I may be a little guy, but I’ve got a big heart, lots of love to give, and I’m very ready for my happily ever after. I came to rescue from a crowded shelter where I was running out of time, but thankfully I got my second chance — and now I’m hoping my forever family is next! I’m a super friendly boy who loves meeting people. New friends? Amazing. Familiar faces? Even better! I’m always happy to see you and usually come with a wagging tail and cheerful little smile. I really just enjoy being part of the fun and close to my people. I also get along with other dogs and currently share my kennel area with two other male dogs. I do especially well with female dogs, though, because I can sometimes get a little bossy with other boys. What can I say? I like to think I’m in charge sometimes. But overall, I’m still a very good boy and do just fine with proper introductions and respectful dog friends. I’m not sure how I do with cats or young kids yet, but I’ve shown everyone here what a sweet, happy companion I can be. I’m neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped, so I’m all set and ready to start my next adventure with a family of my own. All I need now is someone to love me forever. Adoption fee: $400 Apply at: www.adoggie4you.org Mario is currently in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, Kentucky, and locations along the East Coast for an additional $225 transport fee. Please note that transport is not available to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 9, 2026, 10:46 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Zeus — a happy, loving little guy who’s ready to steal your heart all over again. This adorable dachshund/terrier mix is searching for a forever family after being recently returned through absolutely no fault of his own. His previous family loved him deeply, but with the kids heading off to college and long work hours leaving little time at home, they made the difficult decision to help Zeus find a family who could give him the attention he deserves. Zeus is friendly, playful, affectionate, and wonderfully social. He absolutely loves playing with other dogs and has even done great around cats - his previous owner said he liked to play with them. He’s already fully vetted and ready to go home today — neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, 4DX negative, protected with ProHeart 12, and on Bravecto for flea and tick prevention. Zeus has already known what it feels like to be loved, and now he’s hoping for a forever home where he can be part of the family for good. His adoption fee is $300. This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225   . We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations.
