Story
Ziggy is a 14 pound generally happy boy. He’s 3 years old, and is a chihuahua dachshund mix breed. He loves to play and be with his person as much as possible. He enjoys going on walks, but we pick him up when passing other dogs. He is crate and potty trained but prefers indoor potty pads when the weather is cold. We are rehoming Ziggy because his anxiety has made it unsafe to keep him around our kids. He needs to be in a home with 1-2 adults who work from home or are retired. Older kids 16+ only as he now has a bite history. He may do well with a playful cat, or as an only pet. I suspect he should be the only dog but he hasn’t been around very many others. Ziggy takes medication as needed for anxiety. He now does in-room only appointments at the vet, instead of drop off appts due to his anxiety. We love him dearly, are heart broken and hope to find a loving home that will be a better fit for Ziggy. Adoption fee includes crate, bed, remaining pet food/toys.

Story
Animal Profile: Buffalo is an estimated 6 month-old, 20-ish pound male Dachshund mix who was surrendered to the Caddo Parish shelter along with his two siblings, who have since been rescued.  Foster Update: Buffalo definitely has puppy energy! He loves chews, toys and is happy to entertain himself. Buffalo has an adventurous spirit in the yard and he’s quickly learning what’s his and what’s not in true puppy style. He is house trained and he sleeps beautifully through the night in his crate. He will actually put himself in his crate once he is tuckered out from playing. He is a short little fella but he is full steam ahead and he has no problem keeping up with his furry foster siblings in a game of chase. Buffalo’s ideal day is play, nap, eat, repeat! He is really good at following cues from the other dogs in the house so he would do great in a home with another dog or two that like to play and can teach him the ropes, but it’s not required for him. Buffalo will do best with a family with prior dog experience and no really young children because he is slow to warm up to new people but he is getting braver day by day as his fosters help him see that the PNW is not such a scary place and are slowly introducing him to the neighborhood and new adventures. He recently went on a pretty decent hike and explored some water - with time he’s proving to be a great little adventure buddy!  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Caddo Parish animal shelter in Shreveport Louisiana and arrived to Seattle via Tail Lights Rescue Project on March 4, 2024. June 17, 2024, 1:05 pm

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Introducing Fox! He is a very sweet 1-year-old, 10lb long-haired dachshund mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA. Fox is an awesome little guy who gets along well with others. He has quite a bit of energy to him, and true to his breed he can be vocal and excitable when encountering new dogs and new situations. He would do great as an additional dog in the home or be fine as an only dog soaking up all the love and attention. Fox walks well on a leash and would love a forever home that takes him on daily walks and adventures. Fox is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and will be neutered prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
HE WAS FOUND WITH TWO PUPPIES UNDER A HIGHWAY BRIDGE. UNFORTUNATELY, ONE OF THEM TESTED POSITIVE FOR DISTEMPER AND, BECAUSE THE DISEASE WAS ALREADY VERY ADVANCED, HE DIED A FEW DAYS AFTER STARTING HIS TREATMENT. ELMER AND THE OTHER PUPPY, TITAN, WERE PLACED IN QUARANTINE AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE. HOWEVER, ONE DAY AFTER THE END OF QUARANTINE, TITAN SHOWED DISTEMPOR SYMPTOMS AND, LIKE THE FIRST PUPPY, DIED DESPITE RECEIVING TREATMENT. THIS WAS HOW ELMER BECAME THE ONLY SURVIVOR OF THIS RESCUE. TODAY ELMER IS COMPLETELY HEALTHY AND WITHOUT ANY KIND OF SEQUEL AND IS LOOKING FOR A LOVING FAMILY THAT WILL CONSENT HIM. ELMER IS A FAITHFUL COMPANION WHO LOVES TO BE HUGGED AND Cuddled. HE WILL LOVE TO TAKE WALKS AND WALKS WITH YOU. IT IS PLAYFUL AND FRIENDLY, WHICH MAKES IT IDEAL TO BE WITH CHILDREN AND LITTLE ONES. HE LIKES TO EXPLORE, DISCOVER NEW THINGS, MEET PEOPLE AND ABOVE ALL PLAY. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.
