HE WAS FOUND WITH TWO PUPPIES UNDER A HIGHWAY BRIDGE. UNFORTUNATELY, ONE OF THEM TESTED POSITIVE FOR DISTEMPER AND, BECAUSE THE DISEASE WAS ALREADY VERY ADVANCED, HE DIED A FEW DAYS AFTER STARTING HIS TREATMENT. ELMER AND THE OTHER PUPPY, TITAN, WERE PLACED IN QUARANTINE AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE. HOWEVER, ONE DAY AFTER THE END OF QUARANTINE, TITAN SHOWED DISTEMPOR SYMPTOMS AND, LIKE THE FIRST PUPPY, DIED DESPITE RECEIVING TREATMENT. THIS WAS HOW ELMER BECAME THE ONLY SURVIVOR OF THIS RESCUE. TODAY ELMER IS COMPLETELY HEALTHY AND WITHOUT ANY KIND OF SEQUEL AND IS LOOKING FOR A LOVING FAMILY THAT WILL CONSENT HIM. ELMER IS A FAITHFUL COMPANION WHO LOVES TO BE HUGGED AND Cuddled. Meet Talia! This super sweet girl came to us as a stray, underweight and needing some TLC. She’s already blossoming at the rescue—happy, healthy, and steadily working her way up to her ideal weight! Talia is wonderful with other dogs and has been friendly with every person she’s met. She’s about 5 years old and currently weighs 16 pounds, though she should fill out closer to 20. With her adorable terrier-mix looks and likely a dozen breeds in her background, she’s the perfect little mystery pup. Talia is gentle, loving, and so ready for a fresh start. She’ll make an amazing companion for someone who wants a sweet, easygoing friend by their side.

Paige is located in Texas but can be transported once adopted. The transport fee is $230 in addition to her adoption fee.Meet Paige… a spunky 5 year old who is looking for a family to love and snuggle with. Paige was surrendered to us by a woman after she had been abandoned at her house for a year by a sibling. She has been an outside dog and is learning to be housed trained. She has been introduced to numerous dogs at her foster family and has had no trouble adjusting. Her favorite activity is sleeping… either in your lap, or on the back of the couch. When it’s time to go outside… she spins in circles with excitement then quickly runs outside to explore and sniff everything. She has excellent recall and comes back quickly when called if not on a leash. She is happiest when her person is near. He is a good citizen with other canines once he knows them, and he requests a secure fenced yard and friends for him to romp and run with. Choco learns to trust his people, though he is not always so sure of new people. Choco is smart and loves cookies, chewy bones, and other toys and treats. He came to us as a nearly feral dog, and although he has come incredibly far with us, he is not perfect. He is not a snuggly type dog, but likes to share space with you. He thrives in a place that doesn't have huge expectations for him. He has yet to come to understand walking on lead, and it is unclear whether this will ever truly happen. He likes to come and sit with you and hang out where you are, and it is well worth getting to know him.
