Story
Welcome Daisey to CCPAL foster program. She is an 8-year-old Dachshund/Corgi is our best guess. She has a longer body and upright ears. She is a scenting breed for sure. She is active and social and not the couch potato dog. She weighs 25 pounds. She is good with a dog smaller and a dog larger. The larger dog is a pit Bull and she does good with that more dominant dog as well. She is around children and is a great dog for a family with kiddos. She has a 5 year old and a baby in her home. This family has found they have to move into a rental house. The rental house will only allow 2 dogs. They are sad but there is no other option. Pit Bulls are tougher to rehome so she is rehoming her favorite dog. She was crying telling this story. Daisey is potty trained, good on a leash, good in a car, good with other dogs, kids and strangers. She will need a fenced yard or walked on a leash. She can catch a scent and wonder off. She has a nice sturdy body and will make a great companion for an active family or active senior. She can be an only dog or go with another dog. This dog has a lot of good years in front of her and is by no means an old acting dog. She is in good health, vaccinated, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is a shedding dog but only moderately. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to help get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Story
Welcome Bristol to CCPAL Rescue Foster Program. Bristol is a 1.5-year-old Dachshund/Chihuahua mixed dog. She is a small girl at about 7 pounds. She is a little under weight and her fosters will giving her good nutrition. She just had a litter of pups and we are posting them now. Bristol will be spayed soon and will be able to be the center of her family’s life soon. We could not be happier for Bristol. She is very sweet. She is learning the leash, doggie door, crate, car rides and working on potty training. The fosters believe she may have lived outside in her first home in life. She deserves to be a part of the family and get showered with love. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older due to her small size. She is going to be loyal to her person and usually they pick one to be their person. She likes to be held and sit in your lap. She isn’t too energetic and a small condo sized yard would be sufficient. If she goes to a colder climate she would need a good coat as she was cold today in Texas and it was only 70 degrees. She is good with cats and lives with a large dog. She is a wonderful mother dog and will make a wonderful family companion. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200 if she is transported with the local transporter. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Animal Profile: Lemons is an adorable dachshund mix who is estimated to be around ~1 year old and weighs 18lbs. She was rescued from a high kill shelter in Bakersfield, CA.  Foster Update: Lemons has really settled in and her personality has begun to shine as her comfort grows. She is a sweet dog who wants nothing more than to be in your lap under a blanket on the couch. She loves being close to people,  and though she likes to take introductions with new people slowly, she will end up in your lap staring into your eyes.  Lemons is very polite on leash, but doesn't seem to be enjoying time outside in the cold temps. Once we get back into my yard, she sprints for the door and sits and waits patiently for me to catch up with her. Though she can get excited, she is a very calm and loving little girl. She sits politely waiting for me to put her leash on when it is time to go outside and has taken quickly to potty training. She is a fast learner and is eager to please her human- she also knows exactly when it is time to be fed and is great at providing reminders.  Lemons sleeps in a crate in my bedroom and does not make a noise all night and will happily get in her crate when I leave for work if a Kong full of peanut butter is involved. She struggled with boundaries with my resident dog at first, but with some guidance, she has provided him with the space he needs. They try to play together, but both are a little reluctant and awkward figuring it out and usually end up going for separate toys.   I think she would do well in a house with another dog or by herself. She co-exists well with the resident dog in her foster home, but she does require a slow and structured introduction. Her forever family would need to follow some guidelines to help Lemons understand the dynamic in her new pack for a successful transition.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia at [Animal Shelter] in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on [DATE]. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.December 12, 2024, 4:35 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Lt. Dan! You got new legs...err..a new leash! Lt. Dan is an adorable short stack with little legs, large ears, and a big fat head. Lt. Dan is one easy going dude. He has been in a family home with dogs, cats and kids. Unfortunately his family had a change of living circumstance and were not able to take Dan with them. He has been neutered and is on his way to the PNW. We cannot wait to meet him.  Foster Update:  With short little legs, big paws, a chunky head, and a baguette body, Lt. Dan is the cutest and happiest guy! His tail is always wagging and he lights up when he sees people. He walks nicely on leash, but will pull if he sees a critter like a rabbit or squirrel. He sleeps through the night in his crate and is great about going potty outside. Lt. Dan is very food motivated which is helpful for training. He enjoys toys and playtime but also loves to snuggle up. He has a good balance of energy and calm and has been a quiet work from home companion. Adopter profile: Dan is a confident dog, and will need an experienced handler who will give him clear guidance. Dan follows the cues of the resident dogs in his foster home and would do best in a home with another dog. Due to his exuberance, Dan would not be a good fit for a home with children. No first time dog owners, please. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog is being transferred from Animal Advocacy & Rescue Center, our partner in Del Rio Texas and arriving via Paws Up Rescue on 11/10/24 to the Seattle area. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated in foster care.December 6, 2024, 4:22 pm
