Story
Haribo is a 1 year old Miniature Wire Haired Dachshund. He loves to cuddle and is happiest wherever you are. He is a quiet and low-energy guy who just wants to be near his people. Haribo would be a great match for a first-time dog owner, a semi-active couple or individual, a family with older, respectful kids who match his chill vibe, or a home with another friendly small dog. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will go on walks, play a little fetch, attend your gatherings, and then curl up beside you at the end of the day — Haribo is your guy! Haribo has been a very good sleeper in his closed crate in the living room, sleeping quietly after settling after his last potty break at about 11pm and sleeping until about 6am. Haribo prefers to be outside in the yard for at least 10 minutes before going potty. He tried a 2ft x 5ft length of fresh sod on an upstairs deck, but he didn't take to it and did much better when out in the backyard with room to wander for a bit sniffing for a good spot. Potty pads are available inside, but doesn’t understand why they are useful yet. With a consistent schedule for going out and figuring out for how he asks to go out should solve the problem. Haribo has taken to the adult male person in the house and prefers his company but also looks to the adult female, just not as often. He is very quiet, only barking/whining for a bit on the first night when sleeping alone in the crate. He is a funny boy who is eager to please his people. He likes to play with toys, and enthusiastically brings a toy back when playing fetch, wanting the game to continue as long as possible. Haribo is a chill, easy-going boy that travels easily and quietly in the car and would make a great travel buddy. He is good with cats. He is a happy, funny boy who is full of silly Doxie expressions and antics that will make you laugh. He is a sensitive boy who wants to please his people and to be the best boy. Haribo will make a great companion and friend! -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

Story
Here's Hercules! A massive 5 pound Chiweenie (Chihuahua x Dachshund) puppy only 2 months old! Hercules name matches his large personality, rather than his physique, he is a small guy and may have a bit of an attitude about it! Hercules has been more than holding his own with the other rescue pups this week, he came into the rescue with some golden mix puppies more than double his size. Both these breeds are personality PLUS and we believe Hercules will be a character all of his own. Check out those white toes, what a cutie. Hercules has seen our vet, is healthy and now is looking for some special attention and family of his own. Hercules will be current on vaccination for his age, is Microchipped and will be adopted with a contract and deposit to ensure neuter by 6 months of age.

Story
Joey deserves a different ending to his story. What humans did to him is heartbreaking — but it is not who he is. And it will not define the rest of his life. In his first “home,” Joey was used as a bait dog — hogtied and tied to a tree to lure predators. Loud noises still make him tremble. Sudden movements near his feet can make him flinch. Later, he endured more fear and abuse in another unstable home. By the time he landed in the shelter, he was just a shivering little puddle of fur in the corner of his kennel. Joey has lived in fear for 10 years. And yet… Joey still loves. A young family gave him four months of patience and compassion, helping him make incredible progress. They loved him enough to make a 5+ hour drive to ensure he landed safely with us when they realized their busy home wasn’t the right long-term fit. That’s how much this little guy matters. Now Joey needs his person. Maybe that’s you. 🐶 10 yr old darling wire-haired dachshund mix 💛 Bonds deeply with his human (kisses included once he feels safe!) 🚗 Excellent in the car 🎾 Lives for fetch and tug 🐾 Walks nicely on leash 🏡 Thrives in a calm, predictable, adult-only home Joey isn’t a lap dog yet but he absolutely loves to cuddle next to you. Close enough to feel safe, independent enough to keep his dignity. When he needs something, he’ll stand on his little hind legs “prairie dog” style and grunt at you. It’s impossibly charming. He will need: ✔️ An adult-only home ✔️ A dog-savvy foster or adopter ✔️ A quieter lifestyle ✔️ Likely to be your one-and-only pup (or very carefully managed) Yes, he can be reactive. Yes, he needs patience. But what he gives back in loyalty and devotion is something special. Joey doesn’t need perfection. He just needs someone steady. Someone kind. Someone willing to show him that the world can be safe. He is neutered, vaccinated and healthy! He tolerates brushing and having his teeth brushed as well as trims around his cute little face!

Story
Marty Martin is a dapper doxy pup looking for love! Marty is a darling and loveable approx. 8 month old pup, learning what it means to be in a loving and stable home. What he needs now is his forever! Marty is petite, an easy take along buddy. He came to us from a situation where his owner was no longer able to care for him, so Marty made his way over to the west side of the mountains for a fresh start with us. With all the changes in his young life, Marty is looking for a home where the humans are around most of the time, he does great when he knows love and safety is nearby. Marty is still a puppy, needs stability, security, ongoing training and a lifetime committment. Marty has already received his neuter, will be up to date on vaccinations and Microchipped included in his adoption donation.

Story
HE WAS FOUND WITH TWO PUPPIES UNDER A HIGHWAY BRIDGE. UNFORTUNATELY, ONE OF THEM TESTED POSITIVE FOR DISTEMPER AND, BECAUSE THE DISEASE WAS ALREADY VERY ADVANCED, HE DIED A FEW DAYS AFTER STARTING HIS TREATMENT. ELMER AND THE OTHER PUPPY, TITAN, WERE PLACED IN QUARANTINE AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE. HOWEVER, ONE DAY AFTER THE END OF QUARANTINE, TITAN SHOWED DISTEMPOR SYMPTOMS AND, LIKE THE FIRST PUPPY, DIED DESPITE RECEIVING TREATMENT. THIS WAS HOW ELMER BECAME THE ONLY SURVIVOR OF THIS RESCUE. TODAY ELMER IS COMPLETELY HEALTHY AND WITHOUT ANY KIND OF SEQUEL AND IS LOOKING FOR A LOVING FAMILY THAT WILL CONSENT HIM. ELMER IS A FAITHFUL COMPANION WHO LOVES TO BE HUGGED AND Cuddled. HE WILL LOVE TO TAKE WALKS AND WALKS WITH YOU. IT IS PLAYFUL AND FRIENDLY, WHICH MAKES IT IDEAL TO BE WITH CHILDREN AND LITTLE ONES. HE LIKES TO EXPLORE, DISCOVER NEW THINGS, MEET PEOPLE AND ABOVE ALL PLAY. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.
