Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Buck! Buck is a 1½-year-old, 27 lb Dachshund/Lab mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter. This sweet and social guy is always ready to make a new friend and bring a smile to your face! Buck is incredibly friendly and loves to say hello to everyone he meets. He’s great with other dogs and absolutely loves to play, so he would thrive in a home with another dog as a built-in playmate and companion. He’s treat-motivated, walks well on leash, and enjoys getting out for walks, exploring, and going on adventures with his people. Buck is happiest when he’s included in the fun and staying active. This happy, easygoing boy would love a home that will keep him social, engaged, and part of the action—whether that’s daily walks, outings, or playtime with his dog friends. If you’re looking for a friendly, playful, and loving companion who’s always up for an adventure, Buck might be your perfect match! Buck is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Meet Sweetpea! Sweetpea is an 8-year-old, 10-lb purebred Dachshund with a huge love for people and a heart that’s ready for a fresh start. This little girl came to us after experiencing some neglect, including a skin condition and significant dental disease. Our veterinary team recently performed a dental procedure and had to remove all of her teeth. During that visit, they also discovered an old fracture in her jaw that left the lower jaw with very little bone support. Because of this, Sweetpea’s jaw is fragile and she will need to stay on a special soft-food diet for the rest of her life. She cannot have anything hard (including kibble or crunchy treats), as further damage to the jaw could require surgical removal of the lower portion. Right now she does great eating soft foods like shredded chicken, canned dog food, and soft options such as baby rice cereal. Sweetpea gets along well with other dogs, but for her safety we are looking for a home without other pets. This will prevent any chance of her accessing hard food or kibble that could harm her jaw. Despite everything she’s been through, Sweetpea has a wonderful personality. She absolutely loves people and enjoys soaking up attention. She does not have separation anxiety and can be left home alone without issue. She is also pee pad trained and does well with a routine. She will need to be taken outside shortly after eating, as she tends to need a bathroom break soon after meals. Sweetpea’s ideal home: • No other animals (to keep her diet strictly soft food) • An attentive adopter who can carefully manage her special diet • Adults only household able to closely monitor her jaw health • Someone looking for a loving little companion who adores people Sweetpea may have some special needs, but she has so much love to give. With the right home, this sweet little dachshund will happily spend her days cuddling, enjoying her soft meals, and being someone’s devoted companion. Sweetpea is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $300.

Story
HE WAS FOUND WITH TWO PUPPIES UNDER A HIGHWAY BRIDGE. UNFORTUNATELY, ONE OF THEM TESTED POSITIVE FOR DISTEMPER AND, BECAUSE THE DISEASE WAS ALREADY VERY ADVANCED, HE DIED A FEW DAYS AFTER STARTING HIS TREATMENT. ELMER AND THE OTHER PUPPY, TITAN, WERE PLACED IN QUARANTINE AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE. HOWEVER, ONE DAY AFTER THE END OF QUARANTINE, TITAN SHOWED DISTEMPOR SYMPTOMS AND, LIKE THE FIRST PUPPY, DIED DESPITE RECEIVING TREATMENT. THIS WAS HOW ELMER BECAME THE ONLY SURVIVOR OF THIS RESCUE. TODAY ELMER IS COMPLETELY HEALTHY AND WITHOUT ANY KIND OF SEQUEL AND IS LOOKING FOR A LOVING FAMILY THAT WILL CONSENT HIM. ELMER IS A FAITHFUL COMPANION WHO LOVES TO BE HUGGED AND Cuddled. HE WILL LOVE TO TAKE WALKS AND WALKS WITH YOU. IT IS PLAYFUL AND FRIENDLY, WHICH MAKES IT IDEAL TO BE WITH CHILDREN AND LITTLE ONES. HE LIKES TO EXPLORE, DISCOVER NEW THINGS, MEET PEOPLE AND ABOVE ALL PLAY. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

Story
Welcome Mutz to CCPAL Rescue. Mutz is a 3-year-old Daug (Dachshund /Pug). He weighs about 12 pounds and is full grown and a nice weight. This dog came from the hoarder or overabundance of dog situation. He has an adorable underbit and has really blossomed at the Rescue. He is a quieter dog and has learned to like to be held. He is definitely a lap companion. He is playful with other dogs and has the sturdy body of the Pug. He would love to be a companion for a person that is retired, partially retired or maybe someone with a household that wants a dog with a lower energy to join in. He would be ok with a smaller condo size yard. He is learning leash manners and getting used to commotion of the Rescue. He hasn’t experienced a lot of different things so he isn’t sure yet but he is really really nice. He is not a big shedding dog. He is fine with nail trims and baths and will make some lucky family a great companion. I would say anyone moderately active would be fine for this dog. He bonds deeply and he warms up with affection nicely. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting vaccinations, neutered and he will be ready for his forever home soon. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
General about info for the dogs currently listed in this group: Permanent, Loving Homes Needed for Senior Rescue Dogs Over many years, I have monitored and tried to help this particular group of dogs. These dogs have been loved, responsibly vetted, and cared for throughout their lives, though not in an ideal overall situation. They were in a somewhat hoarding situation… not the typical not cared for at all one, but still applies. They were kept clean and fed and I paid for most of their vet care along the way, but their owner would not surrender them until now. Due to this: Adoption fees are all $300, but will be returned once proof of dental is given. I am finally allowed to find them homes, and cannot provide the level of long-term veterinary care these dogs deserve — including dental work, senior monitoring, and ongoing medical needs, thus, I am seeking permanent, stable homes where their remaining years can be lived with comfort, dignity, and consistency. What I am looking for • A calm, stable home • Someone experienced with senior dogs • Financial ability to provide ongoing veterinary and dental care • A commitment to keep them for life — no rehoming • Patience, kindness, and realistic expectations These dogs are older (aged 8 to 12 years old), and while many are still active, affectionate, and content, they will require the kind of care someone prepared for senior dogs can provide. What I will provide Full transparency about age, temperament, and medical needs Important medical history is known I do not have every vaccine record/etc but they are all spayed/ neutered, microchipped, and current on rabies vaccines Time for proper introductions Careful, thoughtful placement — this will not be rushed I am open to placing individual dogs or compatible pairs, and I will work closely with the right people to ensure a good match. If you are genuinely experienced with senior dogs and are prepared — financially and emotionally— to care for one for the rest of their life, please reach out by private message and tell me about yourself, your home, and your experience. These dogs deserve peace, safety, and love for the remainder of their lives. Thank you for reading with compassion. Hello, My name is Aurora. I am about 9 years old, and was born 10/7/2017. I am fully vetted, and in great health. First of all, please know I am WAY cuter than my pictures do justice. I am a little wiggle butt, and my foster parents have had trouble getting a good picture of me. Also, the white on my face makes me look way older than I act. It has progressed since I was a baby, but I really dont act like an old lady! My only issue is that I am desperate need of a dental cleaning. My teeth are better than my sister from the same litter, who just found a home, but she had to have almost all of her teeth removed. I will most likely need at least a good portion of mine removed as well. The good news is that my shining personality will make up for this slight issue. I am beyond happy to do whatever you do, as long as you give me a chance to get to know you. My dog mommy, whom I was around for the 1st year of my life, and thus learned a lot from her, was super nervous natured. I am not like her often, except at first in new situations. I will need probably about 2 weeks to settle in before you try to take me on walks outside or anything similar. I do use potty pads very well, though so that makes this transition time easier. I am silly with a lot of energy. I do like food, but not super food obsessed. I love cats and other small dogs. I will NOT do well around children unless they are older and super patient and super calm with me. I am FULLY vetted: fixed, 3 year rabies, DDAVP, microchip, heartworm tested negative multiple times, including recently, and current on heartworm and flea preventative. My stuff comes with me (crate, bed, toys, hw flea prev for 3-6 months depending on where I am in between vet visits). Still needed: dental, and lepto if you plan on taking me outside in any possible standing water your yard or other places. This wasnt a thing in Houston, but apparently is here.

Story
Meet Betty! Betty and her siblings were found on the side of the road in Eastern Washington, along with their sweet mom Lola. We don’t know what breed mix they are, but they’re all very adorable. We expect them to grow into medium sized adult dogs. Betty is such a fun, sweet girl. She has lots of puppy energy and will love to join her future family on all of their adventures. She also loves to hang out and lay in your lap. Betty has received her first puppy vaccinations, microchip and deworming. She will be spayed between 8 and 12 months, which is included in the adoption fee. Her adoption fee is $525. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
