Story
Introducing Shadowfax! He is a senior boy, but you would never know it from the energy he has to play with all his doggie friends. He plays hard and cuddles hard and loves all humans and doggies. He is curious about cats but doesn’t chase. He stays well in crate while his foster is at work, but sleeps in bed at night. He has the doggie door mastered and uses it regularly. He would make a great single dog but would be great in a pack. Shadowfax is about 11 years old and weighs 18 pounds.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.April 25, 2024, 9:50 pm

Story
Itsy, Boo, Jelly Bean, Bonbon, Love Bug, Poky, Buggy, Herbie & Royce, innocent and helpless, found themselves abandoned and alone at the local shelter when our rescue team saw their post for help.  Too young to even feed themselves, they relied on the nurturing care of our dedicated bottle feeder foster mom to survive and thrive. These precious little souls slowly grew stronger and more adorable, capturing the hearts of everyone around them. And now, after receiving the love and care they so desperately needed, these sweet companions are finally ready for their forever homes. Our team at Spring Branch Rescue is thrilled to announce that they are now available for adoption to loving families who will continue to provide them with the care and attention they deserve. For those interested in welcoming one of these furry friends into their homes, we are pleased to offer transportation services from Houston to the Pacific Northwest and East Coast every month. And for our Canadian friends, we have a special stop in Bellingham, WA, where you can pick up your new companion. If we are in Houston, then how can you see our posts?   Spring Branch Rescue has fosters all over the Pacific Northwest allowing us to post in specific cities. Yes, our rescue is in Houston.  Our available animals live with foster families.  This is a win for you as the transition from our home to yours will be a much easier one.  We do have foster homes in your area.  This is why you are able to see our posts.  Unfortunately Meet & Greets have been cancelled due to Covid Restrictions.  Almost all our animals traveling have been adopted.  We have been doing this since 2019 and have been very successful.  Please look at our adopter’s reviews https://greatnonprofits.org/org/spring-branch-rescue.   Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future from a city that has an animal crisis.  We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets.  So many have been dumped and cannot find their way home.  Many never even had a home and were born on the streets.  WE gave them a chance.  Every animal deserves a chance. To learn more about the adoption process and fees, we invite you to visit our website at www.springbranchrescue.org. We are confident that these little ones will bring endless joy and love to their new families, and we cannot wait to see them find their happily ever after. Adopt, don't shop, and change your life today. ##1987993##

Story
Animal Profile: Gus is an adorable, ~12lb dachshund/terrier mix who is estimated to be around 4 years old. He was originally rescued from a high-kill shelter in Bakersfield, CA and arrived in Seattle in January.  Foster Update: Meet Gus! This sweet guy has been quick to steal the heart of everyone he meets. We are guessing he is a dachshund/terrier mix, with the cutest wiry fur along his back. He has been getting settled into his foster home and doing great. His foster mom shares, "Gus is a sweet, well-mannered gentleman with a playful, curious nature. He’s been settling in quickly and is loving exploring every inch of our house and backyard. Gus is potty trained and he is quiet and content in his crate — in fact we’ve barely heard him make a single peep except to howl along with an ambulance on his way home! He’s a little shy with new people but has warmed up to us in just a few days to the point where he’s now asking for pets and is dying to snuggle on the couch (we won’t let him at this time poor guy!). He likes to do zoomies in our basement when it’s playtime but also is great at settling down on a dog bed in my office when I’m working. I think this little guy is going to be a total socialite once he has really settled in and gained some confidence. Oh and he has yet to turn down a single treat and cleans his bowl every meal, so safe to say he is food motivated!" As Gus has continued to settle in, he has shown some excitement on his leash where he will pull or vocalize at passing dogs/people. His foster family has been working with him on his leash manners, and he has shown great improvement. His forever family will need to feel comfortable to continue to keep up good leash manners with Gus. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia at Bakersfield in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on 01/31/24. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.April 25, 2024, 9:28 pm
