Meet Talia! This super sweet girl came to us as a stray, underweight and needing some TLC. She’s already blossoming at the rescue—happy, healthy, and steadily working her way up to her ideal weight! Talia is wonderful with other dogs and has been friendly with every person she’s met. She’s about 5 years old and currently weighs 16 pounds, though she should fill out closer to 20. With her adorable terrier-mix looks and likely a dozen breeds in her background, she’s the perfect little mystery pup. Talia is gentle, loving, and so ready for a fresh start. She’ll make an amazing companion for someone who wants a sweet, easygoing friend by their side.

Meet SpongeBob! 🐾 SpongeBob is a 7-year-old male dapple Dachshund with a sweet, friendly personality. He loves to follow his person from room to room and is always happy to snuggle up close. He even did great during bath time—what a good boy! SpongeBob enjoys having his own cozy space, like a crate with a comfy bed, though he prefers not to be left alone in it. He gets along well with other dogs, especially those who understand and respect his personal space. And true to Dachshund form, SpongeBob is a big fan of mealtime! If SpongeBob sounds like your kind of guy, head over to the Charming Pet Rescue website and fill out an adoption application.

Story
Animal Profile: Bonbon is a 5 month old, 6-pound Dachshund mix that was picked up as a stray in Modesto, CA. The staff sent out a plea for this sweet girl who was at risk due to over crowding. One look at her little face and we had to get her out of here  Foster Update: Looking for a delightful, energetic, loving and cuddly puppy who’ll be puppy size always? Bonbon the chiweenie is the puppy for you! This wiggly little cuddler is full of delightful puppy energy and unconditional love. Bonbon thinks you hung the moon. She will charm you in mere moments and be charmed by you equally fast. She’s sweet and playful, and loves toys and people. She’s thrilled to see you, happy to play, and also loves curling up on your lap or being tucked in your arm. This sweet young girl also loves her crate. She happily goes in it and sleeps through the night. She’ll also easily go into it when you leave! She’s learned to self-soothe too and will often nap in it with the door open. She’s making great strides with housetraining and goes outside a lot! Patience is key though. She is also doing well with our cats!  If you’re looking for a fun, loving, loyal and so very sweet chiweenie, Bonbon is it! Story
General about info for the dogs currently listed in this group: Permanent, Loving Homes Needed for Senior Rescue Dogs Over many years, I have monitored and tried to help this particular group of dogs. These dogs have been loved, responsibly vetted, and cared for throughout their lives, though not in an ideal overall situation. They were in a somewhat hoarding situation… not the typical not cared for at all one, but still applies. They were kept clean and fed and I paid for most of their vet care along the way, but their owner would not surrender them until now. Due to this: Adoption fees are all $300, but will be returned once proof of dental is given. I am finally allowed to find them homes, and cannot provide the level of long-term veterinary care these dogs deserve — including dental work, senior monitoring, and ongoing medical needs, thus, I am seeking permanent, stable homes where their remaining years can be lived with comfort, dignity, and consistency. What I am looking for • A calm, stable home • Someone experienced with senior dogs • Financial ability to provide ongoing veterinary and dental care • A commitment to keep them for life — no rehoming • Patience, kindness, and realistic expectations These dogs are older (aged 8 to 12 years old), and while many are still active, affectionate, and content, they will require the kind of care someone prepared for senior dogs can provide. What I will provide Full transparency about age, temperament, and medical needs Important medical history is known I do not have every vaccine record/etc but they are all spayed/ neutered, microchipped, and current on rabies vaccines Time for proper introductions Careful, thoughtful placement — this will not be rushed I am open to placing individual dogs or compatible pairs, and I will work closely with the right people to ensure a good match. If you are genuinely experienced with senior dogs and are prepared — financially and emotionally— to care for one for the rest of their life, please reach out by private message and tell me about yourself, your home, and your experience. These dogs deserve peace, safety, and love for the remainder of their lives. Thank you for reading with compassion. Hello, My name is Aurora. I am about 9 years old, and was born 10/7/2017. I am fully vetted, and in great health. First of all, please know I am WAY cuter than my pictures do justice. I am a little wiggle butt, and my foster parents have had trouble getting a good picture of me. Also, the white on my face makes me look way older than I act. It has progressed since I was a baby, but I really dont act like an old lady! My only issue is that I am desperate need of a dental cleaning. My teeth are better than my sister from the same litter, who just found a home, but she had to have almost all of her teeth removed. I will most likely need at least a good portion of mine removed as well. The good news is that my shining personality will make up for this slight issue. I am beyond happy to do whatever you do, as long as you give me a chance to get to know you. My dog mommy, whom I was around for the 1st year of my life, and thus learned a lot from her, was super nervous natured. I am not like her often, except at first in new situations. I will need probably about 2 weeks to settle in before you try to take me on walks outside or anything similar. I do use potty pads very well, though so that makes this transition time easier. I am silly with a lot of energy. I do like food, but not super food obsessed. I love cats and other small dogs. I will NOT do well around children unless they are older and super patient and super calm with me. I am FULLY vetted: fixed, 3 year rabies, DDAVP, microchip, heartworm tested negative multiple times, including recently, and current on heartworm and flea preventative. My stuff comes with me (crate, bed, toys, hw flea prev for 3-6 months depending on where I am in between vet visits). Still needed: dental, and lepto if you plan on taking me outside in any possible standing water your yard or other places. This wasnt a thing in Houston, but apparently is here.

Story
HE WAS FOUND WITH TWO PUPPIES UNDER A HIGHWAY BRIDGE. UNFORTUNATELY, ONE OF THEM TESTED POSITIVE FOR DISTEMPER AND, BECAUSE THE DISEASE WAS ALREADY VERY ADVANCED, HE DIED A FEW DAYS AFTER STARTING HIS TREATMENT. ELMER AND THE OTHER PUPPY, TITAN, WERE PLACED IN QUARANTINE AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE. HOWEVER, ONE DAY AFTER THE END OF QUARANTINE, TITAN SHOWED DISTEMPOR SYMPTOMS AND, LIKE THE FIRST PUPPY, DIED DESPITE RECEIVING TREATMENT. THIS WAS HOW ELMER BECAME THE ONLY SURVIVOR OF THIS RESCUE. TODAY ELMER IS COMPLETELY HEALTHY AND WITHOUT ANY KIND OF SEQUEL AND IS LOOKING FOR A LOVING FAMILY THAT WILL CONSENT HIM. ELMER IS A FAITHFUL COMPANION WHO LOVES TO BE HUGGED AND Cuddled. HE WILL LOVE TO TAKE WALKS AND WALKS WITH YOU. IT IS PLAYFUL AND FRIENDLY, WHICH MAKES IT IDEAL TO BE WITH CHILDREN AND LITTLE ONES. HE LIKES TO EXPLORE, DISCOVER NEW THINGS, MEET PEOPLE AND ABOVE ALL PLAY. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.
