Story
Animal Profile: NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS Dahlia is an estimated 6-month-old 20 lb mixed breed who came to the shelter along with her brother Duncan and was assessed to be sweet and friendly with people and dogs. She will be joining us from Caddo Parish shelter arriving to Seattle on 8/8/23. We will share more info once we get to know her in foster care.   Foster Update:  6 month old Dahlia has been doing great, she's a wiggly bundle of love.  Super affectionate, curious, and responsive when we say No. We've only heard her bark once this past week (when a raccoon was at our window) Pretty typical puppy energy, maybe even a bit calmer. She gets spurts of wanting to play with us, a toy, or our dog, but is also great at resting her crate. (She loves all kinds of toys!) We haven't had a problem leaving Dahlia alone and she's nearly potty trained - she only had one accident in the house when we didn't let her outside right after crate time.   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Caddo Parish animal shelter in Louisiana and will be arriving to Seattle area via Tail Lights Rescue Project on 08/08//2023. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.September 26, 2023, 7:03 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Duncan is an estimated 8-month-old 17 lb mixed breed who came to the shelter along with his sister Dahlia and was assessed to be sweet and friendly with people and dogs. He joined us in Seattle from Caddo Parish shelter on 8/8. We will share more info once we get to know him in foster care.   Foster Update: 8/31-  Duncan, 6 months, is a bundle of energy and cuddles. He is a perfect young dog waiting for his forever home with a family that will spend a little time training him. He rarely barks, only when excited. No accidents since he has settled in. He can be left alone in his crate without problems and sleeps in his crate all night without a peep. He has puppy energy so would love an active home.  He also loves his toys. After 7pm, he just wants to pass out on your lap for the night. He is settling in beautifully.  He just wants to cuddle and play! He will lick your face whether you want it or not. He loves trying to play with our other dog, a senior female. But she isn't very into it. I think he would love to have a playmate but could be a solo dog too. He is great in the crate - no problems silently hanging in there when we are gone or during the night.  He is essentially house trained but had one accident (we are getting used to his signs to tell us he needs to go outside). But once we let him out, he is very quick! He needs some training on walking on a leash. He doesn't pull or anything, just tries to trip you. He wants to say hi to other dogs on walks,, and loves all toys! . Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Please note that we are a TX based rescue that transports our dogs once they are adopted. This pup is in a foster home in TX. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Bruno - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Looky looky, we have puppy cuteness overload!! And these puppies have almost all the boxes checked Sweet and Affectionate - check and check Huggable and Kissable - double check on these Playful and Adventurous - checks on these too, for sure Good with other dogs - check Keeps a smile on your face - Oh for sure a check on this one! A family of his own - no check :( Bruno has so many boxes checked already. He is a happy bouncy boy that is eager to learn the ways of this big ole world and with your help he will ROCK it!! At around 5 months he is playful, ready for adventures and having a grand ole time exploring...everywhere! He is your typical happy pup that will need daily exercise and playtime but with that in he should make a great family member for a home in town, out in the country or anywhere in between. At his current weight of about 12ish lbs he should come in around the top end of the small category of 25ish lbs. Bruno will be an awesome size that is not to small to enjoy all your outdoor activities but not too big that he will take up the whole couch. With his short sleek coat Bruno will be low maintenance in the grooming department, a wash-n-go type of fella. Which you know what that means don't you? More time for the both of you in the 'spoil him rotten' department!! Bruno has all these boxes checked except the one that will make his and your lives complete...a family of his very own. Please fill out an adoption application to get him that last box checked!! These brothers include - Bruno, Winston, Cooper and Ocho
