Story
Blue is 5 years old. We adopted him two years ago from a no-kill shelter in rural NM. At the time, we lived on acreage where the dog could roam and chase rabbits and deer. He enjoyed long hikes off leash and Jeep rides with us. He never ran away-mostly because he wanted to be near us. We have seen no signs of mistreatment from his former life. Last summer, we moved from acreage to an urban AZ location, and that has presented some challenges for both the dog and us. Blue is 70#s and-on leash, he is reactive to other dogs( in a dog park environment, he is not aggressive, but just wants to play with other dogs!) . With people, he is a snuggler and just wants to be near them-he loves attention. The ideal next home for this dog is somewhere is a family that is patient and caring-preferably one that has property where he could run, where he had another dog to pal with and rough house. Cats not so much. This is a good dog, and we are willing to be patient.

Story
NOTE: This is a courtesy post; this dog is not in the care of SoAZBR. Please contact the owner directly (Jojo at 520-934-4301) if you are interested in meeting Linus. Linus is a handsome neutered beagle, approximately two years old. He has a sweet, funny personality and gets along very well with the other dog in his current home. Due to spending much of his early life with his previous owners in boarding/doggy daycare, he could use some additional house training. He will ask to go out potty but can have accidents in his crate. He needs a home with a fenced yard and may do well being trained with a dog door. On walks, he pulls strongly on the leash when he sees another dog; he needs a physically capable handler. His current family needs to rehome him due to financial stress, a grandbaby on the way, and the difficulty of having such a young, energetic dog in an apartment. Linus has a rehoming fee of $150.

Story
EVE Eve is a small sweet Puggle (pug and beagle) the vet estimates is 6 yrs. old and is 22 pounds with long legs. She's a lovebug and wants to cuddle with a person on a couch/chair and in bed. She knows how to use a dog door and has had no inside accidents. She has a lot of play energy and needs a home where she will be walked a minimum of 1-2 times a day. She also needs another dog to play with and a back yard to run in. Eve can jump high and a minimum 5ft. wall all the way around is required. She is also a digger. Fencing must have a footer so she doesn't dig her way under. Children in the home should be at least 6 yrs. or older, due to her energy. Her favorite thing to do is lay in the back yard, waiting to stalk squirrels. We aren't sure if she is cat friendly. She is not happy being in a crate. We are looking to adopt Eve in the Tucson area as she has the potential to be a door dasher. If you are interested in adopting Eve or have any questions about her, please fill out an application on the Southern Arizona Beagle Rescue website. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1SnhudHYFJaPfZyCeKy36-9pbowOVOI-xrX4TIiSIxl4/edit Eve's adoption fee is $250.March 9, 2026, 12:25 am

Story
Stormy - Adoptable • Stormy is a youthful 2-year-old beagle. Which translates to -- a very, very energetic, mischievous cat-hating young dog who has no trouble jumping over a 4ft fence. • Absolutely NO cats for this little girl. • She is crate trained (though she doesn't like it) and potty trained with a doggie door. • Stormy absolutely loves to test her boundaries, and she will surprise you in how respectful she can be with them if you gently enforce the boundaries. • except when it comes to food. Yes, she is one of those dogs who has no problem jumping on a table if there is food (which includes crumbs) on it. Note that counter surfing and table jumping are classic beagle traits. • She currently lives with 6 other dogs who keep her energy level tolerable. • Stormy is a young girl who wants to be loved and loves to cuddle with you. At the same time, she is also very independent. • She loves when you praise her and she remembers what she did so she can be praised for it again. Very important Keynote. • She has a reputation as a digger and has dug her way out of a fenced yard that didn't have a footer. Hint: Whatever type of fence you have, it needs to have a footer. • Gates in the backyard should have a heavy bottom pipe if there is no footer and the gaps around the gate should be small. • Beagles have a reputation of being door dashers. Stormy's current foster has a porch with a small fence that she can jump. She has learned to only go out on the porch when invited. This habit of only inviting her to go through a door will need to be continued in her new home. Her adoption fee is $300.00. If you are interested in adopting Stormy, Please go to our website, read our FAQs, and fill out an application and her foster mom will be in touch. https://soazbeaglerescue.com/ This dog's adoption fee is a minimum $300.00 donation to help us save more dogs. Southern Arizona Beagle Rescue, SoAZBR is an all-volunteer group. One hundred percent of your donation is used for the care and treatment needy beagles. Your donation is 100% tax deductible, too. Story
CARTER Carter is a 3–4-year-old, 70-pound, sweet, snuggly hound boy! By DNA, he is roughly equal parts bluetick, redbone, treeing walker and Plott hounds. Even though he looks and sounds like a bloodhound, he does not have any bloodhound in him and his personality is all coonhound! So, if you love coonhounds, you can get almost all of them in one package with Carter! Carter gets along great with dogs in a public setting. However, in his foster home he sometimes guards his space against other dogs. For this reason, it is best that he be the only dog in the home, but with his larger than life personality, you don't really need another dog! He is unknown with cats. He is vaccinated, neutered, crate trained and house trained. Carter needs a 30-40 minute walk every day to stay happy and healthy, so he is looking for an active adopter. He loves the water and will take a dip in even a small tub of water! Carter will need a 5 foot block wall or a 6 foot fenced yard for his safety. Carter gets along well with kids, but due to his size, he would need to go to a home with older kids. We are looking for a hound-experienced adopter with secure containment, and children 12 or older for our big, sweet hound boy. If you are interested in adopting Carter, please go to our website and fill out an application https://docs.google.com/.../1SnhudHYFJaPfZyCeKy36.../edit, and his foster mom will be in touch with you. Story
Zander is a 7-8 year-old hound mix who was found roaming in rural Arizona. He was picked up as a stray by animal control and never reclaimed. Zander is such a good boy, and we can’t imagine why no one came for him. Despite spending time on the streets, Zander is house trained with a dog door, and non-destructive in the home. He gets along great with other dogs. Children and cats are unknown. He has nice leash skills and enjoys a 20-minute walk per day. Zander weighs about 52 pounds and could stand to put on a few more pounds. Zander is looking for a home where he can spend his golden years getting regular exercise, regular meals, and a nice soft bed! If you would like to meet Zander, please fill out an application and his foster mom will be in touch. https://docs.google.com/.../1SnhudHYFJaPfZyCeKy36.../edit... Zander’s adoption fee is $250.00.
