Story
Princess came to us from PACC (Pima Animal Care) along with her 2 housemates after their owner no longer had housing. She is pretty shy and uncertain in new situations but warms up quickly with her caregivers and is friendly with both men and women (children unknown but she is mild tempered). She has been ok with other dogs in the past (does seem more dominant) but would really prefer to be the only dog in the home. She walks pretty well on a leash but could use a little more work. She uses the dog door and has been accident free almost from the beginning. She does ok in a crate but also has nice house manners. Princess has no health concerns based on her exam and bloodwork. She is estimated as 7 years old and is about 33 lbs but could stand to lose a few. She is beautiful and so soft and behaved well with the groomer (and the foster for pre groom cleanup!) Princess is fostering in N Phoenix!! If you would be interested in this pretty lady and have no other pets please submit an application. Story
T-Bone came to us when his family could no longer care for him. He is estimated around 9 years old and is approximately 12 lbs. He is doing well with the potty routine in his foster home - going outside when his foster dad is home and using puppy pads when he is away at work. He enjoys his yard time and is a big fan of treats! He does have some mild food protectiveness but that is understandable given that there was not enough food at his former home. T-Bone does pretty well on a leash. He does great in a crate and ok in the car. He is timid but very affectionate once he warms up and knows you are safe. He is generally not a big barker. T-Bone is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and also had bloodwork done which looked good! Story
Burrito came to us from the Yuma Humane Society. He is estimated 8-9 years old and around 19# though he has lost a bit since coming into the rescue. He does have some health issues that will require lifelong medication. He was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease as well as a collapsing trachea but is doing much better now (rescue will sponsor 1/2 the cost of meds for the first year). He will need continued weight management to stay at his healthiest self. He also has one eye with a developed cataract so is likely mostly blind in that eye. Burrito can be a little aloof initially but is sweet once he warms up and feels safe. He is good with other dogs of all sizes. Burrito is doing well with the potty routine in his foster, walks nicely on leash and is crate trained though is also able to be left free in the home with no issues. If you are interested in Burrito apply HERE ))) https://form.jotform.com/cherishedtails/dog-application

Story
Lucky is 10 years old and about 29#. She is a sweet girl who love attention and to be a part of everything you are doing. She is house broken and will let you know when someone is at your door. She will bark for a minute or two and when you leave will bark and howl for about 5 minutes if someone is here and gets them to stop, or for 10-15 minutes of no one is home She will not run out of the door when it is opened, and loves car rides. We don't usually crate her, but she has been before and fine with it. Lucky gets along with children of all ages and is fine with other dogs. She likes to sleep on the bed with you, if you put her there as she cannot jump the height of the bed (but can on the couch). Lucky has a collapsing trachea that she takes medicine for it every 8 hours and does well on them, but late at night when she is super relaxed, she has to cough or hack up loudly for a few minutes and a few times and then is fine. She also has to take heart medication 2 times a day. We are trying to walk her to get the weight down as she would benefit Lucky likes to go into small trash cans and pull out anything she can eat and rip apart, and will try to get your food if you let them and have stolen snacks from the kids before when left out. She eats Purina True Instinct dog food and just graze throughout the day. Lucky would make a great companions to someone who has the time for her and has so much love to give. She is the sweetest girl and has been so fun to have around. Lucky was already spayed (previously) and is current on vaccines. Lucky is on heart meds which she will require for life. Story
Ozzy came to us from CA where he was at risk due to some pretty typical old man issues. He has really blossomed in his foster home and is now feeling and looking great. He is around 11 years old and about 13 lbs and is a really nice boy. He got a dental when he was neutered and his bloodwork came back with no concerns. Ozzy is good about going potty outside with regular opportunities. He loves hanging out in the yard when the weather is nice and loves the other dogs he lives with once he gets to know them (even tries to play!!). He does well on a leash and walks right by other dogs no fuss or barking. He is fine in a crate though has good house manners. Because he loves his yard time he would likely be best in a home with at least a small fenced yard. Ozzy was initially very standoffish but soon warms up and starts connecting. His level of intimacy and preference for pets and cuddles is more akin to a cats though; he will come up and solicit pets when he is in the mood but often chooses a few feet of distance. If you ever wanted a cat in dog form or a dog that isn't 'too needy' this one is the right pick for you!! Ozzy does prefer females or men that are not too big and imposing, and his innate skittishness and appreciation of space means kids would not be a good match. Ozzy loves to nap and food is his love language. Ozzy will take time a patience to adapt to a new home Ozzy does have some resource guarding with food so just needs to be fed alone. Story
Snagle is new to the rescue so we are still getting to know him but he is a sweet happy boy so we are fast tracking him for adoption. He is estimated as 5 years old and is 18 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He LOVES kids, is good with other dogs and cats and even has been fine with the resident rooster! His breed may be a Lowchen which are unusual to find in shelters Snagle seems to be housebroken (no accidents yet!) He walks nicely on a leash and does fine in a crate. He is outgoing and friendly with new people. He would likely be happiest in an active home with children and another playful dog and will need a secure yard. He does tend to be vocal so might not be the best match for an apartment, condo or closer living quarters. He is also NOT a fan of grooming so will need some work there.
