Story
Hey Dayna here!! I am a long term resident, I personally blame all those cute puppies who keep showing up at the shelter and stealing my thunder. I am hoping to get into a home before the holidays and spend Christmas with my new family! Here is my family wish list!1. Provide all the comforts of home. Warm cozy beds, a fenced yard, large selection of squeaky toys, a few rubber chickens, good food and even better treats - in moderation of course. I've been watching my figure so I can fit into those skinny collars.2. Fit and fun. I'm a strong girl who loves a few good walks a day. Nothing crazy - I'm never going to be a marathon runner or a dog park dweller but I do love to explore. I need someone who can keep up and hold on tight when I occasionally have one of those 'start the car' moments. 3.Transportation. I LOVE a good car ride. Sometimes I just sit in the car for fun. I don't even mind waiting if Black Friday sales call you into a real store. 4. Flashlights. I hate to admit it but this girl is kind of scared of the dark. 5. Appreciates personal space rules. I'm just not one of those cuddly, needy girls. Togetherness is the best but a girl needs her space to get her beauty rest and play with toys without interruptions. You do you, I'll do me - in the same space!6. Wants to make me the Star of Show. Call me selfish but I don't want to share my family with any other pets. My foster family says there might be a bit more to that story but I say whatever!! You get the point. A bit about me (aka why I'm so much better than a puppy) • Fully trained - house-trained and you can sleep past 5am, leash trained, no jumping, won't chew and wreck things you love. My foster family says I'm the easiest dog they have ever had. Beat that puppies!!• No separation anxiety. I'm happy to hang out in the house or car until you return and I'm willing to waive the personal space rules for a bit when you get back.• About those 'start the car moments' I mentioned. I'm a strong, excitable kind of girl with a "lack of dog socialization skills." That means I want to meet every dog I see but I don't get the memo if they don't like my approach. Seems like a "them" problem to me but my foster family prefers me to say "It's a work in progress". Story
Meet Togo!Togo came to us because his previous owner worked out of town and could no longer provide him with the care and exercise a young, active dog needs and definitely wants. He has been around other dogs and children and does quite well with them. Togo is searching for an active home who can meet his activity level; someone who likes to run, hike, long walks or eventually a dog park. We believe Togo would love the company of another dog so they could play and keep each other company when the humans are not at home. He is initially a very nervous boy and will need a home that can help him gain confidence. This handsome boy is going to be a loyal and loving member of his new family and provide them with that canine companionship.Togo is available "foster to adopt" while he awaits his neuter appointment, because of this local applicants will be prioritized. If you believe this young canine is the dog you have been searching for, please complete an online Dog Pre-Adoption Questionnaire at:https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 29.2 Age: 0yrs 10mths 3wks

Story
Meet Bruce! This sweet boy came to the shelter as a stray, so we don't know much about his history. He is a loving puppy with lots of energy! Bruce likes to play with his toys, especially balls. He loves going on walks and is willing to join in on any fun adventure. Puppies need lots of attention and a safe environment for them to grow into great pets. Like any baby, Bruce is constantly learning. He will need help to learn the rules in a new house, things like, what to play with, where to go to the bathroom, where to sleep to name a few. He'll need annual health checks with his veterinarian for the rest of his life to keep him in optimum health. Raising a puppy is a big commitment but well worth it when you consider they will be a part of your family for many years! If Bruce sounds like the right fit for you family, please fill out an application below!https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Black Brown Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 24.4 Age: 0yrs 10mths 1wks

Story
Are you looking for a four-legged BFF?? A pooch who's totally in her "Happy Place" just being by your side?? A buddy to go on leisurely walks with and then snuggle up on the couch with?? If so, then I AM YOUR GIRL!! My name is Calla, my nickname is "Cutie Pie". I'm a Chihuahua weighing just 8lbs & standing a mere 12" at my shoulders. I'm 11-years young with TONS of LOVE to give! I'm not a complicated lady …..I'm searching for someone special to spend my future years with. A loving, kind & gentle human(s) who will keep me safe and love me to BITS! A quiet home with no other pets b/c truly, I don't want to share my person/people. I can be okay meeting other dogs, but growl at them. I haven't been around children ~ older kids might be okay but perhaps an adult only home is best. I love being outside and enjoy going for walks. I'm well-mannered on leash. I have access to my kennel at all times and, I like it that way ( the door is always open). I have my own room at my foster's home with my kennel, dishes and even a pee pad in case of an emergency. However, as long as I'm taken out at regular intervals, I am Golden! I don't mind going outside to do my business, I just need my person to set a fairly frequent schedule. I don't play with toys ~ "been there, done that". I'd much rather be where you are collecting as many pets & cuddles as possible! I'm in retirement mode so I do enjoy napping throughout the day. When I'm not napping, I can be found next to you ~ hopefully, cuddling!! When I do feel a bit frisky, I can be coaxed into doing a little "doggie dance" for you which will certainly make you smile! To sum me up..…….I'm a very sweet Cuddle-Bug who is looking for MY two-legged BFF! If that could be you, please apply to meet me SOON! In Adoration, Calla

Story
Introducing Kong, a three year old Rottweiler/Bernese cross weighing approximately 110lbs. This easygoing boy enjoys the simple pleasures in life such as food, attention and balls. Actually, the phrase "ball is life" may have been coined by Kong, we aren't really sure. 😁 ‼️‼️ King and Kong are a bonded pair and hoping for a home together. What's better than one adorable and loving boy? How about two adorable and loving boys to keep themselves entertained? ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️ Kong enjoys hanging out with other dogs and enjoys the company of older children. At this time, Kong hasn't been tested with cats. Kong enjoys his daily walks and can pull out of excitement if he sees another dog. He walks well in a halti but could use a strong leader to provide direction and guidance. Kong is a master at potty training and he does well in his crate. His laidback personality suggests he can be a little lazy at times but his loving side shines through all the time, constantly asking for love and attention. 😍 Once Kong has placed his full trust in you, you are hard pressed to find a more loyal companion who just wants to be where you are. Add ball in that equation and Kong is the happiest boy! 😁 If you're ready to open your heart and home to a very loving boy, apply today to meet Kong. Bonus if he can share his home with King! 💙
