Story
Age: 6 yearsWeight: 63lbsDogs? Yes, Please!Cats? Possibly, no known history.Kids? Possibly, no known history.About: Floki is a gorgeous and sweet mixed breed girl who is looking for love! This big girl started her shelter journey when her previous owner no longer had the time to care for her properly. She is ready to find a new family who will treat her like the princess she was always meant to be! Floki is a social dog who is eager to make new friends. With her laid back and easy-going personality, she has done well meeting other friendly dogs and may enjoy the opportunity to share her new forever home with a canine companion of her own. Floki and (also adoptable at AVHS) Gracie are good friends; Floki helps Gracie to feel more confident just by being near her. Floki is looking for a home where she can be included in all of the fun adventures and spend lots of time out and about, soaking up the sunshine! If interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website by following https://www.ark-valley.org/adoption-matchmaker-application/. We recommend calling the shelter at 719-395-2737 after you submit your application to ensure that we have received it. You can also give us a call if you have any questions or would like to learn more about a specific animal. Walk-ins are welcome during our open hours Monday-Saturday 12-5pm, although an adoptable animal may be in a foster home instead of at the shelter, so we also recommend calling us prior to driving to the shelter to confirm the pet`s current location. If you prefer emailing instead, you can reach our staff at to info@ark-valley.org, however, time sensitive matters would be addressed quicker via phone.Note: We do not DNA test our animals to determine breeds. The listed breed(s) are either an educated guess from staff based on physical characteristics, or from information given by their previous home.

Age: 9 monthsWeight: 33 poundsAdoption Fee: $170Dogs? Yes please! Gracie would do great in a home with a kind and confident dog that will show her the ropes and help build her confidence. Bring your pup by the shelter for a meet and greet to see if they`ll be best buds!Cats? Possibly, Gracie does not have any reported history with cats.Kids? A home with older, calmer kids is preferred due to Gracie`s shy demeanor. About Me: Gracie is looking for someone to show her that the world isn`t really that scary after all. She is dog friendly and would benefit from having a well-rounded pup in the home to help build her confidence and ease her worries. We know there`s an adventure dog in there waiting to come out, but a patient and understanding adopter is necessary to help guide her along the way. Come meet sweet Gracie today!
