We've had Sophia since we was a pup. She's almost 2 now (birthday is August 20th, 24). She’s a really good pup, she tries to listen well, however sometimes she will get overly excited and despite the big ears, she goes deaf from the excitement. 8.5/10 times you can reactivate giant listening ears with treats! She still gets the zoomies on a very regular basis, so a big fenced in yard would be excellent for her. She gets along great with our 8 year old. She’s very protective of her and has to be near her 24/7. She does fairly decent with our cat, only issues she has is that she tries to play with the cat, forgetting the major size difference and we have to break them up. She is good in a kennel overnight! You will need to keep windows rolled up in car rides, she likes to eat the passing cars and she will have you second guessing the durability of your windows. She really is a sweet girl, just needs the right home with the right people and unfortunately, we haven't been able to be it.

A Mo-Kan application must be filled out to begin the process.(Sending an "Inquiry" via Petfinder does not constitute an application.) Copper is a 5 year old, high energy 48 pound purebred border collie who recently lost the loving home he had since puppyhood. This gorgeous blue merle boy came into rescue and hasn’t looked back. His sweet sister, Charlie, is in a separate Mo-Kan foster home. Copper loves people of all ages, especially children. He is not good with cats. Copper was used to being an outdoor dog and is learning that there are different rules indoors. He is very puppylike: perpetually happy, curious, and runs everywhere instead of walking. Copper responds best to gentle touch and calmly delivered commands. He is a blank slate, and eager to please! He is crate trained and runs in preemptively to get a treat, which he takes treats very gently. “Copper, come!” appears to be his favorite command. He thinks he is a lap dog and is learning to sit for affection instead of jumping up for it. Copper walks moderately well on a leash and is learning to stay to one side of his person. He enjoys outings to our local dog park for the people who pet him as much as the dogs he runs with. He is very skilled at reading and reacting appropriately to new dog friends and takes their feedback well. Copper would do best in a home with a consistent routine. Having been an outdoor dog after his first year of life, he is re-learning potty training. He is crated during the workday with a mid-day dogsitter break while his foster is at work and keeps his kennel clean. He loves being outside, running in a yard and wrestling with his 55 pound housemate, so a fenced yard and a dog companion are preferred. Copper is not good with cats and is hyper focused on chickens. Bowie continues to be the sweetest boy who is kennel trained, but sleeps in his dog bed on the side of my bed nightly. He is still working on playing fetch, but loves tug of war with his toys. Bowie does amazing on the walks and isn’t reactive to any other dogs even when they are barking at him. He will try to take off when he sees a bunny, but is easy to redirect. He has settled in very nicely into our family and gets a long with our French bulldog. Bowie would be a great addition to a family, he will need time to settle in, but would make you laugh daily with his silly shenanigans.
