Story
Layla is around 12 years old (going on 90 year old) Chihuahua who was left at the pound. She has several medical issues. She is an intact female, with severe dental disease, poor BCS, Eartip alopecia and pigmentation. She is blind and cannot hear and suffers from stifle stiffness with possible ataxia, possible patellar luxation vs other orthopedic vs neuro - hence she moves very slowly. Layla is barely potty trained, she will use a potty pad, if it is close to her. So, as you can see, Layla will need a very special person to help her through her geriatric years.

Story
**Courtesy Post** Say hello to Winston from Lee’s Summit near Kansas City! Winston was born 08-20-2020 and he needs a new home. He has the typical Jack Russell Terrier traits such as having high energy, being stubborn, not being social with other dogs and he can be difficult to catch because he’s fast! Some other things about Winston to note are he is very attuned to reading my mood and can tell when a trip to the vet is planned. He doesn't like to be touched, definitely not a cuddler. He's afraid of anything new and barks until he thinks the danger no longer exists. He's an excellent watch dog and lets me know before strangers can ring my doorbell. He seems to like women over men. I attribute that to my wife's nurturing him. He wants to be with his owner and follows me everywhere, looking up at me. He mourned my wife's passing and would watch her bedroom door for hours. He still runs to her door whenever the house makes a noise. He's not a morning dog and will sometimes growl when he wakes. I sometimes wonder if he’s not picking up on my morning mood. Dogs don't generally drink coffee...LOL He will react if disturbed while he's eating. When he runs he sometimes holds his left hind leg up. He's always done that and the vet has never found any problem with his leg. He loves playing "fetch" and will play for hours. He watches me constantly. I'm told that's his way of showing love. He's always been like our child and it breaks my heart to give him up, but his vet feels he could not survive a 15 hour flight in an airline cargo hold. My recommendations for a new home for Winston are he be placed in a home without children or other dogs. I would suggest his new owner be familiar with the breed. He needs lots of exercise on a daily basis. He is afraid of loud noises. Thunderstorms are especially terrifying. I move his bed into my bedroom if storms are expected overnight and he does well with that. He's potty trained and will let you know when he needs to go out. However he sometimes forgets. I leave a pee pad out for his use at night. One very important point I would make is that he never goes outside without a leash. Unlike my former dogs, if he gets out and roams he will be unable to find his way back home. Please remember that. He's stubborn, strong willed and he will steal your heart. Contact: jrhoneycutt59@gmail.com Winston’s new owner must be able to drive to the Kansas City, Missouri area to get him.

Story
Sassy is a 12 year old yorkie who was left at the pound. She is very shy, preferring to spend her days snoozing in a sunny spot, with that spot being outside in the sun if it's not too hot. She is a very quiet doggy, for a yorkie, rarely barking or making a raucous. She is blind in one eye, has no teeth, and has a medically luxating patella and some alopecia along her spine. She is semi-potty trained, depending on her access to the outside. If you have a quiet home life and would like someone to share that peace with, Sassy is your gal.

Meet Wallie – A Loyal Lapdog Looking for His Forever Person
💙 5-Year-Old Chihuahua | Adoption Fee: $250 Wallie is a special little guy with a big heart and even bigger loyalty. At 5 years old, he came to us from a loving home—his family was devastated to say goodbye, and it’s clear he was truly cherished. We promised them we’d find him a new home that’s just as deserving of his affection, and that’s exactly what we’re here to do. Wallie is the ultimate shadow dog—he follows his favorite person everywhere and loves nothing more than curling up in a warm lap. He’s polite on a leash and enjoys his daily walks, which are great for helping him lose a few pounds to protect his knees and back. With some consistency and love, he's well on his way to a healthier, happier future. In his foster home, Wallie coexists peacefully with two cats and another dog. While he tolerates them well, he prefers his own space and isn’t one to seek out interaction—especially if it means sharing his favorite lap. He’d likely be happiest as an only pet or with calm, respectful animal companions who understand his boundaries. Wallie has been a star student in his foster home—he’s done excellent with pottying outside and sleeps quietly through the night in his crate. His loyalty runs deep, and once he bonds with you, he’s your little shadow for life. If you're looking for a low-maintenance companion who will be endlessly devoted and quietly hilarious, Wallie just might be your guy. He’s ready to give all his love to the person who gives him the safe, calm forever home he deserves. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply to adopt Wallie today! 🐾

Story
Hi, I’m Bronco and I am 3.5 years old. I am a Lab mix from what my parents were told. I was acquired from a program called Puppies for Parole when my daddy was working in corrections. I was so happy to have found a home with my current human parents and lil human sister. We are all sad to be separated but I would like to find another great home to call my own. I am a very good boy who’s very protective and who has never given my parents any problems. I love nature, walks, car rides, cuddles, and good snacks. Will you welcome me home?!
