Story
Bowie continues to be the sweetest boy who is kennel trained, but sleeps in his dog bed on the side of my bed nightly. He is still working on playing fetch, but loves tug of war with his toys. Bowie does amazing on the walks and isn’t reactive to any other dogs even when they are barking at him. He will try to take off when he sees a bunny, but is easy to redirect. He has settled in very nicely into our family and gets a long with our French bulldog. Bowie would be a great addition to a family, he will need time to settle in, but would make you laugh daily with his silly shenanigans.

Story
Willie is a sweet, older lady that is looking for a place to spend her golden years! She's great with people and lived with kids in her former home. Her former family says "Willie is a fun loving girl with lots of happy personality. She loves to cuddle and loves walks. She hasn’t been around many other animals, but she did used to live with a Chihuahua." They said peanut butter and spray cheese is the way to her heart. Her foster says "Willie is a sweet gal who loves to relax next to a good friend! She loves going for a walk around the block and is a champ on a leash. Treats are definitely the way to her heart. She’s game for most treats but has a weakness for peanut butter, spray cheese and has recently found out the cold foam her foster mom uses for her coffee is amazing!"

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Courtesy PostCourtesy Post.  See contact info at the end of bio. Mia is an 11-year-old, 35-pound purebred Border Collie looking for the right home to spend her golden years. Adopted eight years ago, Mia has been a loyal adventure partner and beloved companion ever since. She’s incredibly smart, affectionate, and still has plenty of Border Collie drive and enthusiasm for life. Mia thrives when she has a job to do. She loves training, playing ball or frisbee, going for walks and runs, and joining her people on adventures. Her previous family worked with her in obedience, agility, and scent work — all activities she truly enjoys and excels at. She has good house manners, rides wonderfully in the car, and has even earned glowing reviews during Airbnb stays. She’d happily be your shadow and go wherever you go. Some of Mia’s favorite things: • Hiking trails and outdoor adventures • Ball and frisbee time • Early mornings • Being close to her people • Having structure, purpose, and enrichment A few quirks: • Trash trucks are highly suspicious • Water is not her thing • She occasionally appoints herself the “fun police” when play gets too rowdy As Mia has gotten older, she has developed some anxiety and has become more sensitive to chaos and overstimulation. In her current home, she sometimes struggles with the energy of a younger dog and can display strong herding instincts during excited play. Because of this, Mia would do best in a calm, structured home without small loud children or high-energy dogs. She may bark, lunge, or nip when she feels things are out of control. She is passive around cats. Mia is house-trained, does well loose-leash walking, and can be trusted free in the home when left alone. She is up to date on vaccines, flea/tick and heartworm prevention, and has no known health concerns. She currently takes fluoxetine and trazodone for anxiety support. Her previous family loves her deeply and is heartbroken to make this decision, but they know Mia deserves a home that can better meet her needs and help her feel secure and successful. In the right environment, she will be an incredibly devoted companion. Mia is located in the Wichita area. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in adopting, read about our Adoption Process and complete an Adoption Application on the Mo-Kan website.  A Mo-Kan application must be filled out to begin the process.(Sending an "Inquiry" via Petfinder does not constitute an application.)   Copper is a 5 year old, high energy 48 pound purebred border collie who recently lost the loving home he had since puppyhood. This gorgeous blue merle boy came into rescue and hasn’t looked back. His sweet sister, Charlie, is in a separate Mo-Kan foster home. Copper loves people of all ages, especially children. He is not good with cats. Copper was used to being an outdoor dog and is learning that there are different rules indoors. He is very puppylike: perpetually happy, curious, and runs everywhere instead of walking. Copper responds best to gentle touch and calmly delivered commands. He is a blank slate, and eager to please! He is crate trained and runs in preemptively to get a treat, which he takes treats very gently. “Copper, come!” appears to be his favorite command. He thinks he is a lap dog and is learning to sit for affection instead of jumping up for it. Copper walks moderately well on a leash and is learning to stay to one side of his person. He enjoys outings to our local dog park for the people who pet him as much as the dogs he runs with. He is very skilled at reading and reacting appropriately to new dog friends and takes their feedback well. Copper would do best in a home with a consistent routine. Having been an outdoor dog after his first year of life, he is re-learning potty training. He is crated during the workday with a mid-day dogsitter break while his foster is at work and keeps his kennel clean. He loves being outside, running in a yard and wrestling with his 55 pound housemate, so a fenced yard and a dog companion are preferred. Copper is not good with cats and is hyper focused on chickens. A home without cats or caged small pets is a must. If he sounds like a great addition to your family, complete an adoption application on the Mo-Kan website. Copper is being fostered in the Kansas City area.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 12, 2026, 3:30 pm

Story
Ilya is an outgoing guy that has a TON of energy and drive! This guy doesn't have time to stop and smell the roses before he's moving on to his next activity. He's a true athlete! His foster says "Ilya has been great! Ilya is fun and playful, but also calms down quickly when it is time to rest. While he has been in my care, he has been exposed to other dogs, cats, and children and has done great with them all, showing no signs of aggression. He is house and crate trained very well. I have been working on his listening skills with him, and he has learned and adapted quickly to my commands. I think he would do well in a home that is active and is home majority of the day as he gets slightly anxious when left alone for long periods."

Good with kids, Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Daisy Mae is a sweet girl. Sadly she was abandoned by her former family with her 2 dog friends. In her previous home, she reportedly did well with everyone. She definitely needs a busy home and will do best if she's not alone. Her foster says "Daisy Mae is an incredibly sweet, affectionate girl who loves being with her people. She forms strong bonds and will happily follow you from room to room, always wanting to be part of whatever you're doing. She is fully potty trained, well behaved in the home, and loves to cuddle up for naps and relaxation. Daisy Mae gets along wonderfully with other dogs and currently lives peacefully with a senior dog. She has shown friendly interest in every dog she has met. She also loves people of all ages, including men, women, and children. She has a playful, energetic side but is also excellent at matching the energy of her family. If you're active, she's ready for adventure, and if you're relaxing on the couch, she'll happily settle down beside you and fall asleep. She enjoys car rides, knows basic commands such as sit, and loves swimming. Daisy Mae prefers not to be left alone for long periods and would thrive in a home where she can spend plenty of time with her family. She can be strong on leash at the start of walks, but once she settles down, she does very well and enjoys longer outings. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who wants to be your best friend, Daisy Mae may be the perfect match!"
