Story
Hello! My name is Frankie and I am an older beagle that needs to find a new place to live. I am approx. 9 years old and weigh 25-30 lbs. I was surrendered to Penny Angels in June of 2022 after being in a home for 5 years. I spent many months looking for my new home. (I don't always 'show' well at PetSmart and knew that I would have to work harder to meet the special person that was willing to give me a chance.) I was recently adopted along with another beagle but found my way back to Penny Angels because I didn't get along with the cats in the home. My previous owner tried to make things work and was so sad that I had to go back to Rescue. I need to be the ONLY dog in a home with older children (and NO cats, of course). I am neutered and up-to-date with my vaccinations. I am also current on heartworm preventative. I am house-trained and using a doggie door in Rescue. I will need to learn new rules in your home. I like to play with toys and enjoy lounging on the couch. I am active, at times, and enjoy going for walks. I walk best with a harness but I sometimes ‘pull’. Even though I am happy to be in Rescue and NOT in a shelter, I know that I would be happier in a home of my own. Do you have room in your heart for me? If you are interested in adopting Frankie, please fill out an application and submit it to Penny Angels Beagle Rescue. Frankie’s adoption fee is $225, cash or check. The application is available at www.pennyangelsbeaglerescue.com. If your application is approved, you will be contacted by email or phone and then will complete the adoption process at PetSmart in Mays Landing, NJ on Saturday between 11-2 pm. If you have any questions, contact beagler534@comcast.net or emnase@aol.com, or call Penny Angels Beagle Rescue at 609-965-9476. Thank you!

Story
Hello. My name is Morty and I am a friendly beagle boy that needs to find a new home. I am approx. 3 years old and weigh 28 lbs. I was found as a stray in New Jersey and ended up at a shelter in Ocean County. I had a scratch on my cornea and was taken to the vet a few times. I have eye drops that go with me in case of a flare-up, but I should be fine. I am a happy, tail-wagging boy that loves to eat. I get along well with other dogs. I am a strong boy and tend to pull when being walked. It would be best for me to wear a harness as I walk, while leading the way with my nose to the ground. I am using a doggie door in Rescue but will need to learn new rules in your home. Can you help me find my forever home? If you are interested in adopting Morty, please fill out an application and submit it to Penny Angels Beagle Rescue. His adoption fee is $225, cash or check. Thank you!

If you are interested in HAZEL or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam3.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. HAZEL is the most adorable girl ever! And she has the personality to match! She is gentle, loving and absolutely loves to snuggle. She can be a little shy at first, but once she knows and trusts you, she is the best cuddle buddy you could ever ask for. To know HAZEL is to love her, it is impossible not to do so. Most of HAZEL’s days are spent lounging on the couch, hanging in the backyard or snuggling in bed with her foster dads. HAZEL gets along well with other dogs and absolutely adores her doggie foster siblings. She fit into her foster family seamlessly and would be happiest in a home with at least one other pup friend. HAZEL is an absolute dream to live with. She minds her manners in the house, walks well on a leash and is a perfect passenger in the car. She also knows not to potty in the house and is well-behaved in her crate when her foster family is away. HAZEL’s forever family will feel like they hit the doggie jackpot with this precious baby! To see even more pictures of HAZEL, please copy and paste the following link into your browser: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5ubm6esm0slhgjj/AAC30eFhjOCP8mLF0uwIxutWa?dl=0 HAZEL is spayed, microchipped and up date on all vaccinations including 2 rounds of both the H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza vaccinations. Her $490 adoption fee includes her interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the New England area after she is officially adopted. For an adoption application on HAZEL click here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Meet CHUNK! Saying he is handsome, is stating the obvious. He is also sweet, loyal, funny, and full of kisses. He is a true companion. CHUNK is incredibly smart and has a giant desire to please. He is the perfect pup for someone who wants a young dog, but would like to skip the tiny puppy training days. He knows not to potty in the house. He spends most of his days sunning in the back yard and hanging with his foster moms and siblings. At night he likes to hang out in the kitchen while dinner is being cooked, snuggling on the couch and curling up on his doggie bed while his people are binge watching their favorite shows. CHUNK does great with other pups! He is respectful of all of his foster siblings and truly enjoys their company. He also goes to doggie daycare where he has an exemplary report card. CHUNK is a moderate energy boy and would thrive most in a home with a yard to play in or with a forever parent who will take him to daycare and/or the dog park regularly He self entertains with toys like a champ and enjoys long naps after playtime. He loves chewing on his toys and is a good car passenger. If you are searching for an affectionate, adorable, genius of a dog, CHUNK is the new family member for you! If you are interested in MACK or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. Introducing MACK! He is very sweet and devoted to those he loves. He’s also extremely well behaved in the home, completely house and crate trained. Even though MACK is really just a baby himself, approximately a year old, he isn't at all destructive. He wants so much to really truly belong to someone, and he will give them all the love and loyalty in the world in return. He is a cautious boy, it takes him a minute to warm up to new people and situations, but he handles his fear well and is getting better all the time. He’s great with other dogs and his confidence soars when with them. Therefore he can only go to a house that has at least one other dog. He is currently in his home with his foster mom who just adores him. She says he’s perfectly behaved with her dogs and is an absolute joy. All he needs is a little love, patience and a family to adore and trust for a lifetime.
