Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Aries Aries is a large boy who was surrendered when his owners could no longer keep him. Once Aries is comfortable with people, he solicits attention and loves to lean in for petting. He loves to play with tennis balls in the yard and is content to toss them in the air and catch them. Aries has good leash manners leash manners and has reliable 'sit', 'down ', 'wait' cues. Aries would be best in an adult home and would thrive as the only pet where he can have all the attention and training!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 4, 2025, 10:05 am

Story
Georgia just turned 4 years old. She is a beagle, red heeler mix. She is a total love bug, loves to run outside no matter if it’s in the woods, beach, or just at the park. She loves to snuggle and be under the blankets. She will brighten up your day when you come home with her wiggle butt. I am looking for somebody to take great care for her, give her endless snuggles and lovings. She does have separation anxiety. She takes anxiety medication which helps her a lot, which I can provide. A bone and toys keeps her distracted tho!! I can provide bags for food, toys, treats, for the first couple months!!

Story
Dog Name: Cass Noelle BREED: Kelpie mix SEX: Female AGE: 2 WEIGHT: 40 pounds MEDICAL NEEDS: None HOUSEBROKEN: Yes CRATE TRAINED: Yes, eats her meals in her crate, goes in at night with a cookie GOOD IN CAR: doesn’t get car sick but will  keep going side to side so a seatbelt is a good idea GOOD ON A LEASH: needs work, a prong collar would be recommended ENERGY LEVEL: high, Cass is high energy but when she is ready will nap quietly NEED A FENCED YARD: would be preferable as Cass has a lot of energy to burn, likes to patrol the perimeter and enjoys her sunbathing time DOG FRIENDLY: with proper introduction yes If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes?  not necessary. She currently is with 2 Goldens without issue CAT FRIENDLY: has not been tested KID FRIENDLY: has not been exposed to kids TRAITS THAT MAKE YOUR FOSTER SPECIAL OR THAT WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THEM: Cass is a very active, alert girl that needs a special home with patience to let her grow into the good dog we know is in there. Cass would benefit from an active home and some training. Cass is not destructive and is cuddly when she gets comfortable in her surroundings.  FOSTER’S LOCATION: Milton, Delaware Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application If you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.org and ask the app team to pull your application ##2453722##

Story
Dog Name: Bozo The Hound Breed: Hound mix Sex: neutered male Age: 3 years Weight: 65 pounds Medical Needs: none Housebroken: He's not had any accidents when free in the house in the two months he's been here, but his last placement said he had issues with marking indoors. I suspect a strict two-week shut down will see a continuation of his good behavior. Crate trained: yes, though he occasionally has accidents overnight Good in the car: yes, generally just goes to sleep Good on a leash: When he's comfortable, he walks very well, but when things are too busy and he gets scared, he freezes up Energy level: medium Need a fenced in yard: No, Bozo thinks fences are more like suggestions, and he has been known to hop over to pee where the grass is greener. Dog Friendly: Very. He loves to roughhouse with like-sized dogs, is respectful of dogs that don't want to play, and has been very tolerant of his 17-pound lhasa foster brother who likes to boss him around. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No, but I think he would be happier with a dog friend Cat Friendly? Yes! His foster has three cats and Bozo has been very gentle and sweet with them, and likes to give them kisses. Kid Friendly: Possibly older children. Fast movements and noise scare him. If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? any old enough to understand he needs time to adjust to new people Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Bozo is one of the sweetest hounds you will ever meet, but he's an introvert. He takes his time warming up to new places and people, but once he's comfortable, he's your best friend. He took a couple of weeks in his current foster home to relax and really show his personality. He was very stoic and still at first, refusing to make eye contact and nervously side-eyeing anyone who came near. He spent the majority of his time in his crate, too nervous to venture out. Two months later and he loves to gaze into people's eyes, while blissfully enjoying head scratches. He wags his tail at company and seeks attention and love. He likes to cuddle his human friends on the couch, and joins the cats at the window to quietly people watch. He's a home doggy, not an adventure puppy. He doesn't mind a car ride, but dealing with strangers, noise and chaos still makes him freeze up. Need a reading buddy? He'll stay close and keep you company. A gardening pal? He's happy to sun himself beside you. Festivals? No, thanks! Fosters Location: Grasonville, MD Application can be found here: [https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application](https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application...)
