Story
Kirby is a very lovable sweet boy. He loves to get affection and to play. His brindle colors are gorgeous with the sweetest brown eyes to match. He's handsome and he knows it! Kirby is definitely a people pleaser and would be a great companion for anyone who is looking for a medium size dog that would seem to pick up on any training quickly!

Story
This precious boy is young and still acts like a puppy. We think he is around one year old. Archie looks bigger in pictures. He only weighs about 35 pounds. He is underweight, of course. :( We don't know if he was on his own a long time or kept outside. The poor boy came in very thin and looking pretty rough with lots of cuts and nicks on his face and was missing hair in places. He is definitely getting better! At first he was shy, now he's learning to play and come out of his shell! Through it all, Archie hasn’t shown any aggression towards the other dogs through his kennel. He likes to give Chanel kisses through the fencing. He also did well saying Hi to Checkers at the fence. Archie has not been to the vet, and we do not know his heartworm status. He needs a family who will be patient with him as he learns manners but is more than willing to please!

Story
Buoy’s owner couldn’t care for him anymore so he ended up at the outdoor, miserable shelter. He is a big-hearted pup with a smile that will melt you! At around 50 pounds, Buoy is the perfect medium-large size—and he’s got an even bigger personality. Guessing age may be around 4/5. This sweet boy is all about treats, belly rubs, and making new friends, especially the kind who come bearing snacks!!! He’s already showing us how smart he is—he’s eager to please, takes treats VERY gently, and with a little patience and consistency, he’s sure to pick up commands quickly. We’re still getting to know how Buoy feels about other dogs, but he may be dog-friendly with the right match. He wants to play with the other dogs and wags his tail when they come up to his pen! What we do know is that he’s full of love, ready to learn, and waiting for his forever person to take him home and help him shine.

Story
Candy is still in need of a rescue or an approved home, she is doing terrific in her foster home and is so ready for a family of her own. Candy and her two puppies were found last winter living under an abandoned house. The family who owned the property had been feeding them and trying to get them to come out from under the house. Animal control was finally called and Candy, Cody and Finley were brought to the shelter Feb. 28 2024.They were all frightened and rightfully so; who knows how long they had been living under the house without any human contact. Candy, Cody and Finley stayed at the shelter for a while but they weren’t getting much better. They needed more human contact and needed to be able to interact with other confident dogs. They did make it to a foster home, where they started making great progress. It took some time, but they have learned to trust people, learned what it’s like to live in a house and what it’s like to be part of a family. Cody and Finley were taken into rescue, and they are both doing very well! Now it’s Candy’s turn! She has been such a good mama, taking such great care of her boys while they were on their own. It’s time someone took care of her!!! Candy will do best in a home with other calm, confident dogs. She doesn’t like dogs who are too rambunctious and play too much. For the same reason, she probably would not do well in a home with small children. Candy will need a fenced in yard to keep her safe. A small area will be fine. We just wouldn’t want to take the chance of her getting away from her owner and being on her own again. This girl has been through enough. Candy is about four years old and weighs around 50 pounds.

Story
This sweet girl is so beautiful and such a sweetheart! She’s very smart and needs a loving and patient home that knows how to provide everything needed for a puppy to feel loved, secure, and provide training. She went to a foster home, but they are realizing how much work a puppy takes and feel it would be best that she finds a new Foster, adoption or rescue. They love her very much so they want to see her thrive. It is guessed that she is somewhere between 10 and 12 weeks old. Darla, her father and two siblings were brought in as strays to the shelter on Sept 8 2025. Her father, Dewey, is still at the shelter and in great need of a home also! The other two puppies - one was adopted and the other one is in a foster home.

Story
This 3–4 year old sweetheart is about 40 lbs (and still putting on healthy weight). With his soulful eyes, gorgeous coloring, and best-ever smile, Queso melts hearts everywhere he goes. He’s calm, gentle, and hasn’t shown any reaction to other dogs. He’s also eager to learn how to play and discover what being a carefree pup is all about. He is VERY food motivated right now because he is underweight, but will calmly sit and wait for his treat that he takes very gently.
