Story
Ky was found taking cover in an abandoned car. She was infested with fleas, ticks, and mange. She was totally shut down and terrified. Once she was caught, she was immediately taken to the vet and then placed in a loving foster home in June 2021. We believe she was born near the end of 2020. She only weighed 12 lbs, and now weighs 35, but we believe she is full grown now. Ky is fantastic with most dogs, and is doing great at house training with a dog door. Unfortunately, we have no idea what kind of life she had before she came to us, and she is very timid around people. At this time, she can only be picked up if you put a blanket around her. She will allow you to pet her, but rarely, even now,  several months later. She is not aggressive, just very scared, and will require a home that is willing to work with her and understand it will take a lot of time for her to become the dog she is meant to be! Due to her special circumstances, she will require a home with a securely fenced yard, no apartments, no out of state adoptions, and no children under 10 please. Her adoption fee will be negotiable to the right home. All available dogs are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and given a broad spectrum dewormer . The adoption fee for dogs is $150 for Adult dogs > 15lbs, $100 for Seniors 8yr+, and $200 for Small breed dogs and Puppies < 6 months  If you decide to apply for this or another animal, you can complete the application online here https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/570/generic We require that all dogs in the home be spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on heartworm prevention. If you would like to email or call, you can reach us here: mustangshelterfriends@gmail.com or  405-578-4738Our volunteers would love to talk to you about available pets, but please allow time for them to get back to you, they do this in their free time. Story
Remi and her brother Winchester  LOVE playtime and would love a playmatet that can keep up with thiem.A home with very young children may not be ideal at this time due to that fact.   She is housetrained and is very smart, but we may be a bit biased. She likes to watch cartoons, listen to music  and also listen to the foster family play guitar. These sweet pups have been spayed and neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. They are a littel over a year old and are very ready for their forever homes!  Please note you must own your own home due to the breed. No apartments. Please check your municipality rules to ensure you may legally own this breed.  All available dogs are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and given a broad spectrum dewormer . If you decide to apply for this or another animal, you can complete the application online here https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/570/generic We require that all dogs in the home be spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on heartworm prevention. Story
Irwin is a sweet boy that was rescued from one of our local shelters. He was found lying in a ditch after being apparently hit by a car. He didn't have any fractures, but was pretty banged up. He is some kind of "doodle" mix. Maybe lab, poiinter, poodle? We don't really know what to call him. He is low shedding. Irwin is house traiend, and crate trained, and does well with most other dogs. He's sweet, but plays a bit too rough with small dogs, althoujgh that is improving, and he can be intimidating to some others. ,He has some basic manners, but is still learning not to snatch unattended food off the counter. He rides well in the car, and walks well on leash. Irwin is not for everyone. He is very protective of his people with strangers, and will need slow introductions to anyone interested in adopting. He would do best in a home without children or many visitors. He must have a securely fenced yard, no chain link or electric fences. Irwin loves to play with toys, and snuggle on the couch. He's very good at finding toys to chew on instead of something inappropriate. He would love to sleep with his people, but will sleep on the dog bed if you insist. All available dogs are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and given a broad spectrum dewormer .
