Story
Carl is an approximately 8-year old male Boxer mix and weighs around 65 lbs. He was rescued after being abandoned on the streets of OKC. Carl was very confused about how he ended up in boarding, but he has made great progress. He has started playing with the techs there and loves to run around in the clinic yard. He would love a home where he is included in activities and made a part of the family. He is a “rough” player and would do best as an only dog or with a submissive dog, so if there are other dogs in the home, he will need to meet them prior to adoption. Carl would be an awesome companion for the right person. Very loyal. He would not be a good choice for a home with children under 12 or cats. He is simply a senior guy looking for his final home. Carl does not like crates, but will crate. He is good on a leash and would love a home where he can walk with you. We don’t know if he is house-trained but he does keep a clean kennel in boarding. He is neutered, current on vaccines, on heartworm preventative, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $250. Since he is in boarding, he qualifies as a foster to adopt, or just a foster. See Kim or Michelle for more information about fostering. To foster Carl, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/foster-application. To adopt Carl, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application.

Story
Joseph is an approximately 7 year-old Chihuahua / Terrier mix that currently weighs 21 lbs. Joseph aka as JoeJoe is a calmer dog that enjoys sitting in your lap. When it’s cold you’ll find him under the covers. He is very fond of treats & chewies and will put on a dance performance for one. Healthy snack options he enjoys: blueberries, bananas, apples, tomatoes, celery, peas & carrots. He’s always up for a walk and gets very excited just seeing the leash. He enjoys going on car rides. He likes squeaky toys and his favorite are lamb chops. When you come home, he’ll greet you at the door with a toy. Joseph is extremely outgoing and doesn’t know a stranger. Joseph may look like an old man but this “old man” plays daily. He will play with you, by himself or with his doggy friends. Let’s talk about his doggy friends. Joseph is dog selective meaning he chooses who he likes and who he doesn’t like. He doesn’t like big dogs and he doesn’t like hyper dog. He prefers female dogs to males but he has gotten along with some small male dogs. He would do great as an only dog or in a home with another small calmer dog. His doggy BFF’s he’ll play, wrestle and protect from them from other scary dogs. He’s loyal to the core once he finds a buddy. Since Joseph can be dog selective he must meet every dog in the home before adoption. A secured fenced yard is required. He loves the backyard. On nice days he likes to squirrel & bird watch. JoeJoe is crate, leash & potty trained. He does excellent while his family is away and it is not necessary to crate him. His foster home has a doggy door which he has really came to enjoy. At night he likes to sleep in his human’s bed and will cuddle up next to you. Be prepared he’s going to work way his way under the covers like he owns the place or you can give him his own blanket to burrow under. Joseph is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, HW negative, current on HW preventative and micro chipped. He has also had a recent dental. His adoption fee is $250. To adopt Joseph, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application to apply.

Story
This sweet boy is Bruno! He is an approximately 4-year old Pointer/Cattle Dog mix who weighs around 50 lbs. Bruno was adopted as a puppy but returned at 10 months old. The family felt he was too much energy for an apartment and that he needed a home with more time for him and a yard. Bruno is an fun loving goofy dog with plenty of playful energy. He absolutely loves to play and go for walks. He will need a yard and an active family who can spend time with him and give him daily exercise. He also really needs a family who will give him mental stimulation as well such a food puzzles, snuffle matts, and teaching him new tricks. He is a really smart dog and his main issue in his old home is just lack of time spent with him. He spent too much time in a crate and not enough time getting to run and use his brain. If you are looking for a fun dog to spend your time with, Bruno is your dog. If you are looking for a walking or running companion, Bruno is your dog. If your energetic dog needs an energetic friend, Bruno is your dog. Bruno is crate, leash, and house trained. He is good with most other dogs and has played in small groups at a daycare, but can be selective. Due to his energy, I wouldn't put him with young children but children 8 and up would be great for him. He has lived with children in the past and was fine. Bruno needs a stockade fenced backyard and to meet all dogs in the household before adoption. Bruno is neutered, microchipped, and current on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $250. If you would like to adopt Bruno and make him a part of your family, please apply at FYDRadopt.com. Bruno is in a boarding situation at this time so he qualifies as a foster-to-adopt or as just a foster. If you are interested in fostering Bruno, please complete our foster application at www.foreveryoursokc.org/foster-application.

Story
This adorable girl is Lexi! Lexi is an approximately 1-year-old female Rat Terrier / Chihuahua mix who weighs around 10-12 lbs. She was surrendered to the rescue for chewing on a couch. Lexi is a total love bug! She is sweet-natured, friendly, affectionate and playful! One of her favorite things is being with her person/people and showering them with love and kisses! She will be an awesome companion to someone! Lexi is good with other dogs and cats. Although her foster has no children, she was incredible with them at the last outreach. Probably older children would be best due to her small size. Securely fenced back yard required! She requires another dog, her size (up to 20 lbs.), in the home. Lexi has adjusted to a puppy pen with friends when the foster is gone. She is doing much better with her house-training (probably 50% there) and is learning about leash walking (we highly recommend a harness for better control). Lexi is spayed, vaccinated, on heartworm preventative, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $250. To adopt Lexi go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application to apply.

Story
Meet LuLu, a brave and beautiful girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart! LuLu was rescued after being found and nobody came forward to claim her. LuLu is an approximately 1-year-old female Corgi mix, who weighs around 22 lbs. This smart and playful pup is super affectionate and always up for an adventure. She is a loyal companion who forms strong bonds with her person and just wants to be by their side. LuLu is mouthy and will let you know when she wants attention, but once she settles, she loves nothing more than a good cuddle. LuLu is a herder at heart and has tons of energy, so she'd be the perfect match for an active family who can keep up with her playful spirit. Due to her herding tendencies, we don't recommend a home with babies or toddlers. She does well with other dogs, but she can be a bit much for older pups, and she needs a little time and space to adjust when meeting new canine friends. LuLu is house-trained, knows the 'stay' command, and walks well on a leash, making her an ideal companion for adventures beyond the front door, too! With her sweet nature and playful spirit, LuLu is sure to bring joy and laughter to her forever family. Could that be you? Lulu is house-trained, crate-trained (not her favorite), and needs continued assistance with leash training. She is spayed, current on vaccines, on heartworm preventative, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $250. To adopt, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application to apply.

Story
This handsome guy is Steel. Steel is an approximately 18 month old male Pit Bull / Mastiff / Chow mix who weighs around 70 lbs. He was rescued as a stray on the streets of OKC. Steel is a big-headed cutie. He is affectionate and sweet tempered. He has been around an 8 year old child and did very well. He is sensitive to everything going on around him and can get a little over excited, so Steel needs an owner who will be patient with him and allow him to calm down before meeting anyone (he jumps to greet them, but he is gentle and will correct easily). He is in a foster home with two small dogs who boss him around all the time. He would love another playful dog in the home, but he needs to meet all dogs in the home prior to adoption. He could be an only dog if included in activities and shown plenty of love and attention. Steel is crate, house and leash trained (but could use some work on his leash skills). We recommend a harness for more control since he is a very strong dog. Steel is neutered, current on vaccinations, current on HW preventative and microchipped. His adoption fee is $250. To adopt Steel, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application to apply.
