Story
This cutie is Brownie! She is part of a bonded pair with Cookie. They need to be adopted together. They were found on the side of road, so eaten up with fleas that they had lost their hair. They are both healing nicely, with just a few places left for hair to continue to grow. Cookie & Brownie are good together but need to be kenneled and fed separately. They love cuddles and playing tug-of-war with their ropes. They can be timid at first, but they warm up and will become your constant companions. After a good play session, they love to lounge and be couch potatoes. These kids do not like large dogs, so small dogs only in their forever home. They will also chase cats. Due to their small size and sometimes timid traits, no children under 10 years old. Brownie is a 14-month-old female Chihuahua mix who weighs in at 7 lbs. She is doggie door house-trained, and crate trained. She is spayed, current on vaccines, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $250. To adopt Brownie & Cookie, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application to apply.

Story
Carl is an approximately 8-year old male Boxer mix and weighs around 65 lbs. He was rescued after being abandoned on the streets of OKC. Carl was very confused about how he ended up in boarding, but he has made great progress. He has started playing with the techs there and loves to run around in the clinic yard. He would love a home where he is included in activities and made a part of the family. He is a “rough” player and would do best as an only dog or with a submissive dog, so if there are other dogs in the home, he will need to meet them prior to adoption. Carl would be an awesome companion for the right person. Very loyal. He would not be a good choice for a home with children under 12 or cats. He is simply a senior guy looking for his final home. Carl does not like crates, but will crate. He is good on a leash and would love a home where he can walk with you. We don’t know if he is house-trained but he does keep a clean kennel in boarding. He is neutered, current on vaccines, on heartworm preventative, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $250. Since he is in boarding, he qualifies as a foster to adopt, or just a foster. See Kim or Michelle for more information about fostering. To foster Carl, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/foster-application. To adopt Carl, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application.

Story
Meet Greta - Your Ride-or-Die… with Opinions! 📍 Age: Approximately 3 years old 🐶 Breed: Brussels Griffon Mix 🎯 Ideal Home: Adult-only, low-drama, high-snuggle What’s to Love About Greta: ❤️ Pro napper: Will snooze by your side all day ❤️ Sleep buddy: Loves to sleep in bed with her person ❤️ Chew stick enthusiast + treat connoisseur ❤️ Wants to be your one and only, but could tolerate calm dog roommates ❤️ LAZY girl who relaxes the day away ❤️ With frequent potty breaks/reminders Greta is house-trained. If left too long she may have an accident. The Fine Print: Greta does not do the “Hi stranger! Pet me!” thing. She’s more of a “Stranger Danger!” kind of gal. If someone she doesn’t know reaches for her before she’s ready, she’ll let them know with a growl or a nip. But give her 10 minutes, a soft landing on the floor, and a little space — and boom, she’s yours. Once you’re in, you’re her whole world. Think of Greta as your opinionated aunt who yells at the neighborhood kids from the porch in her muumuu with a Marlboro Light dangling from her lip — but only because she loves peace and quiet. 🤣 🚫 No young kids ✅ Yes to adults who understand boundaries and appreciate a little sass with their snuggles. Looking for a fiercely loyal, low-maintenance companion who’ll adore you (and judge everyone else)? ⭐️ Apply now before she yells at us to take this post down ⭐️ Greta is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $250. To adopt Greta, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application to apply.

Story
This handsome guy is Steel. Steel is an approximately 18 month old male Pit Bull / Mastiff / Chow mix who weighs around 70 lbs. He was rescued as a stray on the streets of OKC. Steel is a big-headed cutie. He is affectionate and sweet tempered. He has been around an 8 year old child and did very well. He is sensitive to everything going on around him and can get a little over excited, so Steel needs an owner who will be patient with him and allow him to calm down before meeting anyone (he jumps to greet them, but he is gentle and will correct easily). He is in a foster home with two small dogs who boss him around all the time. He would love another playful dog in the home, but he needs to meet all dogs in the home prior to adoption. He could be an only dog if included in activities and shown plenty of love and attention. Steel is crate, house and leash trained (but could use some work on his leash skills). We recommend a harness for more control since he is a very strong dog. Steel is neutered, current on vaccinations, current on HW preventative and microchipped. His adoption fee is $250. To adopt Steel, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application to apply.

Story
Joseph is an approximately 7 year-old Chihuahua / Terrier mix that currently weighs 21 lbs. Joseph aka as JoeJoe is a calmer dog that enjoys sitting in your lap. When it’s cold you’ll find him under the covers. He is very fond of treats & chewies and will put on a dance performance for one. Healthy snack options he enjoys: blueberries, bananas, apples, tomatoes, celery, peas & carrots. He’s always up for a walk and gets very excited just seeing the leash. He enjoys going on car rides. He likes squeaky toys and his favorite are lamb chops. When you come home, he’ll greet you at the door with a toy. Joseph is extremely outgoing and doesn’t know a stranger. Joseph may look like an old man but this “old man” plays daily. He will play with you, by himself or with his doggy friends. Let’s talk about his doggy friends. Joseph is dog selective meaning he chooses who he likes and who he doesn’t like. He doesn’t like big dogs and he doesn’t like hyper dog. He prefers female dogs to males but he has gotten along with some small male dogs. He would do great as an only dog or in a home with another small calmer dog. His doggy BFF’s he’ll play, wrestle and protect from them from other scary dogs. He’s loyal to the core once he finds a buddy. Since Joseph can be dog selective he must meet every dog in the home before adoption. A secured fenced yard is required. He loves the backyard. On nice days he likes to squirrel & bird watch. JoeJoe is crate, leash & potty trained. He does excellent while his family is away and it is not necessary to crate him. His foster home has a doggy door which he has really came to enjoy. At night he likes to sleep in his human’s bed and will cuddle up next to you. Be prepared he’s going to work way his way under the covers like he owns the place or you can give him his own blanket to burrow under. Joseph is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, HW negative, current on HW preventative and micro chipped. He has also had a recent dental. His adoption fee is $250. To adopt Joseph, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application to apply.
