Meet DINO - A Poodle Mix Looking for His Forever Home! Personality: Shy, Sweet, Timid, Loving, can be scared at times. Ideal Home: MUST have another dog, Adults Only (unknown with kids), Secure Fenced Yard is required. Shedding: Minimal Energy Level: Medium to high (I’m still a puppy!) Greetings, Future Family! My name is DINO, and I come bearing a heart full of love and a tail ready to wag its way into your life! I recently found myself in the warm embrace of the Just Paws family, and now I'm eagerly awaiting the chance to find my forever home with you. My journey began in a puppy mill, but I've left those difficult days behind me. With the love and care of my foster family, I'm blossoming into the confident and loving pup I was always meant to be. Although I may be a bit shy and timid at first, with patience and understanding, I'm sure to become your most loyal companion. Here's a sneak peek into what life with me would be like: Companionship: I would thrive in the company of another dog in my forever home. Another dog would help me build confidence and show me the ropes of being a cherished family member. Exploration: I love going for walks and exploring the world around me. Busy streets don't seem to bother me much, and I'm always eager to sniff out new adventures. Training: I'm a smart cookie, and I'm eager to learn! Positive reinforcement training will be a bonding experience for us, helping me become the best version of myself. My foster mom is working with a trainer (and going to speciality training classes) to help me overcome some fears. For now, I am on anxiety medication which has helped me tremendously. Safety First: A secure fenced-in yard is essential for me. No condos and consider if you have shared walls as I can bark at times. While I may be a bit wary and prone to running off if spooked, with a safe space to call my own, I'll be as happy as can be. Food Motivated: Did I mention I love my food and getting treats. I even now take treats from your hand (a big step for me in trust). But wait, there's more! House Training: I've made great strides in my house training journey, with only a few accidents here and there. I'm a great sleeper and enjoy curling up at the foot of your bed. Curiosity: I'm a bit of a counter surfer, always eager to see what's up there. But with some gentle guidance, I'm sure to learn what's off-limits. As a puppy, I’m discovering chewing! Affection: There's nothing I love more than a good head rub! While I may be hesitant at first, with time and patience, I'll warm up to you and your family, showing you all the love in my heart. New Things: My foster mom is working on crate training -- I will go in for a short rest and treats (but don’t shut the door!) My foster mom is doing car training with me – I’m just doing OK and little nervous but getting better. I even went to Petsmart – little scary but I walked around sniffing all the great treats and toys. My foster mom says this about me: “Dino comes from a puppy mill and, until he was rescued, he lived in a kennel with other dogs for all this young life. As with dogs from puppy mills, they need the time, patience, and love to help them trust and adjust. His forever family will need to put in the time with Dino to help him become confident, shown how much he is loved and safe. Dino has only been with us for several weeks, and we notice his confidence level is improving. We are observing his puppiness emerging as and have some fun (especially when his zooming around the backyard). He loves our two dogs, so he gains confidence when they are around plus sees how they react to different situations – when they are getting love and pets, he wants to engage as well. Dino is going to need another calm, friendly and energetic dog in his forever home (he loves to play and wrestle with our younger dog) In time, this gorgeous boy is going to be an amazing addition to a family – if you are willing to give this boy a chance.” My foster mom has been my guiding light, helping me overcome my fears and anxieties. She believes in me wholeheartedly, and I know that with the love and support of my forever family, I'll continue to thrive and shine. So, if you're seeking a handsome poodle mix to join your family, look no further! Apply for me today, and let's embark on this beautiful journey together. I can't wait to meet you! With love and wags, DINO 🐾💙 ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.

Story
Meet Cosmo: Your Future Furry Companion Hello, future pet parents! My name is COSMO, and I'm on a quest to find my forever home. I recently found myself in the care of Just Paws and my amazing foster dad because my previous owner could no longer take care of me. But no worries, I'm ready to bring love, joy, and companionship to a new family! **About Me:** - **Breed:** Cockpoo Mix - **Age:** 2 years old - **Weight:** 27lbs. **Groomed and Ready:** I may have arrived as a long-haired, matted mess, but check out my fabulous post-grooming photos! I was a good boy with the groomer. Thanks to the care of my foster dad, I'm feeling refreshed and looking forward to my next adventure. My new family will need to keep me groomed as I’m the type of dog who needs it. **Health Update:** I was neutered on March 18. I received a good health check from the Vet – vaccinated and microchipped as well. The vet staff said I was a sweet boy. I have recovered from the surgery and ready to find my forever home. **Living Situation:** - **House Training:** Is good with only just a couple of accidents. Don’t expect perfection, especially as I adjust to my new forever home – it takes time and patience. - **Kids:** I would probably be best in an adult only home. I’m still going through some puppy nipping at times so I don’t want to upset the kids plus I have lots of energy, so much older kids is better. - **Leash Skills:** Getting there, with a touch of nervousness around other dogs (but probably due to my lack of walking/socialization in the past). Leash training is a must as I also like to pull. - **Sleep Habits:** I'm a champion sleeper, and I love a good cuddle session. I’m used to sleeping close to my humans. - **Crate:** I’m just OK in my crate with the door left open but I prefer not to have a crate. I get very upset if you close the crate door and I only like to go in the crate when I’m ready. I like to be close to my people but I’m good on my dog bed. **Energy and Playtime:** I'm a medium-energy pup who adores chasing and playing in the backyard. My foster dad thinks I'd do well with another friendly dog (but not necessary) and an active family. While I'm still getting used to walks and socializing, I'm eager to learn and explore the world with you. The more walks and playtime I get, makes for a happier and well-adjusted dog. **Ideal Home:** For now, a house with a secure fenced yard would be perfect for me. I am not suited for the apartment lifestyle as I do bark – and that would be very annoying to your neighbours. My foster dad believes I'll thrive in a loving home where I receive attention, playtime, and, most importantly, lots of love. It would be great if you don’t leave me for long periods of times – when my foster dad leaves I only bark for a minute or two – I eagerly await his return and excited to see him. Experienced dog owner is probably best for me as I do need some training (unless you are willing to invest in a Trainer). I get very excited and barky when new people come into the home to visit but will settle. I went for a playdate with 3 other dogs at the home and I did OK. **Final Thoughts:** There's still much to discover about but I'm already looking forward to finding a family that will cherish me forever. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a cuddly, friendly, and playful companion, I might just be the perfect match for you! My foster dad thinks I’m an amazing little guy. It is going to take time for me to adjust to a new home but if you got the time, love and patience I’m sure I will be happy as I have been through a lot of change in my young life – I need some stability to know I have found my forever home. Interested in making me a part of your family? Apply for me. Let's embark on this journey of love and friendship together! ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! Story
Meet Apple, the adorable 8 month old female terrier poodle cross weighing in at a petite 11 pounds. This timid yet sweet pup may take some time to warm up to new faces, but once she does, she will be you number one cuddle buddy .Apple finds comfort with both dogs and cats, feeling more confident and secure when surrounded by her furry friends. She thrives in a relaxed environment and would appreciate a doggy sibling who is easy going or as an only dog understanding humans who can provide ample love and patience. She will bark when left alone until she settles which can take some time so for that reason , her new home must be a detached house with a fenced in yard where she can freely express herself. Walking on a leash may still be a bit scary for Apple, but she's gradually finding joy in exploring the world alongside her doggy pals. A fenced and secure yard would be her happy place , allowing her to frolic freely and safely. Above all, Apple dreams of a family who will cherish her timid nature, shower her with affection, allow her to sleep in bed with them and embrace her as the apple of their eye. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Story
PLEASE READ MY BIO CAREFULLY Dog friendly Kids over 14 only No condos/apartments Not crated Are you looking for a little teddy bear to brighten your day? This is Teddy, a (98%) sweet 9 month old cockapoo, who finds himself looking for a family who can give him the attention a puppy needs! Teddy is playful and very sweet! He is medium energy outdoors and playful both on his own and with other dogs. In the house he is low energy and likes to play with his squeak toys. In his previous life he went to doggy daycare so he’s a sociable pup! Teddy is not a fan of being left alone and would do well with someone home most of the time as he does bark when his humans leave. For this reason, we also don’t think an apartment or condo is suitable for him. He is not crated as he dislikes the crate but he is not destructive when left to roam the house. Teddy does have some triggers that will cause him to nip. He is not a fan of foreign objects coming to his face, like brushes, cones or syringes and may nip when these objects come near. Good news is, he does get used to it after learning that these things cause no harm! We do not recommend young children handling him. Teddy is also still a puppy so some training classes would be beneficial for him to teach him how to be his best self. Teddy is a big snuggle bug and sleeps on his foster mom’s bed and doesn't move throughout the night. Teddy is such a sweet and happy little fellow and he can’t wait to spend the rest of his life with his perfect family! Apply for Teddy today! ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! Adoption Profile: Meet Gage Breed: Schnauzer Age: 10 years, born July 6 2014 Weight: 14 lbs Background: Gage was recently released from a breeder and is now ready to find his forever home where he can enjoy the love and attention he truly deserves. Personality: Despite being a senior dog, Gage has an impressive amount of energy! You would never know that he’s not a young pup. He loves to play and run around, but he also has a gentle side and enjoys lounging on the couch, snuggled up next to his humans. Social Skills: Gage is a social butterfly! He enjoys hanging out with other dogs that he is familiar with and would make a great companion for a household with other furry friends and would also be fine as the only dog. Walking Skills: One of Gage's best qualities is his leash manners. He walks very well on a leash, making him the perfect walking buddy for those brisk strolls around the neighbourhood. He can keep up with the best of them and his foster has taken him for 5km+ walks. Intelligence: Gage is a smart boy! He knows exactly where he lives and is currently learning basic commands like "sit." With his sharp mind and eager-to-please attitude, he is sure to pick up new tricks in no time. Ideal Home: Gage would thrive in a home where he can enjoy a balanced mix of playtime and relaxation. A family that can provide him with both mental stimulation and cuddle time on the couch would be ideal for him. He really loves the company of other dogs so having another buddy in his home would be ideal. If you're looking for a loyal and smart companion who also knows how to relax and chill, Gage might just be the perfect match for you! ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Story
It’s me, Jasmine! I’m a 5 year old, female terrier mix, weighing in at 10 small pounds! I just arrived from Mexico and I’m a bundle of sweetness and joy! As soon as I was let out of my crate after a long flight, I stretched my little legs and have made Canadian soil my home! I’m a friendly little girl, wagging my tail and following my foster family around with curiosity and interest! I’m great with dogs and really like my new foster fur sister. I’d like to play with her but she’s not interested yet. I think I’ll win her over though. I seem to be housetrained but I do go out every 3 hours or so. I do enjoy the company of other dogs so I would love it if I had a bff to spend my days with, if possible. Now, let’s talk about my fur! I seem to be a low shedding dog but a shedding dog none the less so people with allergies, I don’t think I’m the dog for you! As the shelter I came from in Mexico says, I am a “piece of cake!” and it is not a lie! Apply for me today! As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly.
