Story
Meet Telerin (TELI for short) Male | 6 Years Old | 19 lbs | Chihuahua Mix Location: Fostered in Toronto Best Suited For: Houses, apartments, or condos (City life approved!) Telerin flew in from Mexico and settled into his Toronto foster home as if he’d been there all along. This cool, calm, and collected boy is here to redeem the Chihuahua reputation! Quiet, well-mannered, and super sweet, he has fully embraced downtown city living. Why You’ll Love Him: * Extremely Gentle & Sweet: He is incredibly gentle with both humans and other dogs, showering everyone he meets with affection. * The Perfect Fit: He is highly adaptable and would do equally well as the pampered only dog in the home, or happily sharing his space with other pets! * The Ultimate Velcro Dog: He’s happiest right by your side, whether he's supervising your day, snuggling in bed, or flipping over for belly rubs. * Social Butterfly: He adores people and is a massive hit at soccer watch parties, happily nap-hopping from lap to lap. * Easygoing & Polite: He is fully potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and takes handling (like paw wiping and harness fitting) completely in stride. Training & Routine: Telerin settles down quickly after a brief moment of whimpering when left alone. He’s still learning his name and recall, but since he is highly treat-motivated and eager to please, positive reinforcement training will be a breeze. While he prefers to graze on his kibble throughout the day, he will use his irresistible puppy eyes to beg for human food—his future family will just need to stay strong to help him maintain his handsome figure! Sweet, gentle, and deeply affectionate, Telerin is ready to find his forever family. ************* As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country.

Story
Thank you for your interest in Hubert. He is such a fun loving, energetic, happy, barky boy. He loves people and dogs and life. Some of it he loves a little too much. Well, not too much for him but too much for other dogs. But he is really just a softee who wants to run and play and be chased. Hubert hasn't had the best start in life. He was sold to an elderly owner who wasn't able to manage a happy, energetic dog so Hubert landed in a day care/boarding facility. His owner wasn't able to take him back and the really sad things started happening. He was sold, returned, sold, returned and finally someone took him to the vet. Hubert was really matted and was finally groomed. It was then discovered that he had a terrible ear infection and an infected toe! Once again people had failed him. Off to the vet he went and as soon as he received treatment he felt so much better and his happy came out! He went to live with another family and they really loved him but underestimated how much energy is required when you have a dog like Hubert so SPIN was called. Hubert is just the kind of dog we love! Running, bouncing, barking, playing, snuggling, hugging, what could be better?

Story
Jean-Pierre (JP) is a striking three-year-old Standard Poodle who has made remarkable progress since being found abandoned in Quebec. When he first arrived at the shelter, he was frightened, in pain from an untreated ear infection, and unsure of people. With care, patience, and medical treatment, he started to heal — both physically and emotionally — and showed the sweet, loyal nature that defines him today.

Story
Bowmanville, ON - Some dogs come into rescue because they've never known stability. Kate's story is different. Kate was deeply loved by her owner and, by all accounts, was the centre of her world. Sadly, when her owner passed away, Kate suddenly found herself without the person she loved most. She wasn't well known to family or friends, and eventually a compassionate veterinarian reached out after realizing she needed help. They convinced the gentleman caring for her to work with SPIN to find Kate the loving home she deserves, and thankfully, he agreed. Kate arrived with very little history. Although she was wearing several rabies tags, we couldn't locate a veterinarian who knew her, and the only information we were given was that she was twelve years old. Of course we welcomed her into SPIN...and we couldn't wait to meet her. Well...what a surprise she had in store for us! From the moment we met Kate, we knew something didn't add up. Our veterinarians agreed that she appeared considerably younger than expected, and after her examination, we estimate Kate is closer to nine years old. More importantly, she's everything you could hope for in a companion—gentle, affectionate, curious, easy-going, and simply a joy to be around.

Story
Thank you for your interest in Mozart. Some dogs get every opportunity. Mozart is not one of them. Despite his sweetness, loyalty, and gentle nature, life has handed this beautiful Standard Poodle the short end of the stick far too many times. He has been owned, surrendered, adopted, returned, adopted again, returned again, transferred to SPIN, moved between fosters, adopted once more — and then returned yet again. Each time, Mozart tried. Each time, he bonded. And each time, humans let him down. When a Quebec shelter reached out for help after his second return, we knew we had to step in. Beneath his stress and confusion, there was a wonderful dog whose emotional needs simply weren’t being met. Once in our care, we discovered he was a purebred Standard Poodle with a heart bigger than his struggles — and a history that finally needed to change. Today, Mozart has been with dedicated, experienced fosters for two months. He is decompressing, learning, and showing us exactly who he is when he feels safe and understood.
