Story
Meet Dodger! Dodger is a gorgeous apricot poodle, approximately 2 years old and around 20 lbs, with the sweetest soul to match his good looks. He came to us after being rescued by a kind woman who gave him a safe, loving place for four months after he was removed from a home that wasn’t treating him well. Thanks to that compassion, Dodger has truly blossomed. Dodger is a happy, playful, non-shedding boy who loves to follow his people around and keep an eye on whatever you’re doing. He’s affectionate without being overwhelming and thrives on companionship. He absolutely adores other dogs and would be happiest in a home with another playful pup where he can have a furry sibling to romp and bond with. This means he absolutely needs another dog to live with. A fenced yard would be ideal for him to safely enjoy playtime and outdoor fun. He is house trained, enjoys his walks, and is eager to continue learning and settling into a routine. As a poodle, Dodger will require regular grooming to keep him comfortable and looking his best. He currently is not a fan of the car and can get a bit carsick, but with time we hope that he will get used to it. Dodger is currently being fostered in Stouffville, Ontario, and is ready to find the forever home he truly deserves. If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion who will be your little shadow and best friend, apply now to adopt Dodger. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.

Story
Say hello to Louie — a 5-year-old, 20-lb Cavalier mix currently being fostered in Waterloo and on the lookout for his forever best friend. Louie is a certified Velcro dog who believes personal space is overrated and that life is simply better when he’s following his favourite human from room to room. Louie is incredibly friendly, affectionate, and instantly charming with everyone he meets. He’s a quiet, well-behaved guy who can stay home for a few hours, though he’ll be counting the minutes until his people return. A true snuggle bug, Louie’s ideal day includes as much cuddling as possible, and he’d likely adore a home with older kids who are eager to give him endless love and attention. While Louie gets along well with other dogs, he’d be happiest in a calmer household where he can soak up most of the spotlight. He did live with a cat for a short time and managed just fine, though he did chase a bit, so any kitty roommate would need to be dog-savvy. When it’s time to settle in for the night, Louie sleeps soundly in his crate. Louie’s hobbies include fetching balls, gleefully wrestling with stuffed toys (and occasionally destroying them), and enjoying a couple of short daily walks. He has a mid activity level and prefers easy living — stairs aren’t his favourite, so a one-level home or condo with an elevator would be perfect - unless you are ok to carry him if needed. If you’re dreaming of a loyal shadow, professional cuddler, and gentle companion who just wants to love and be loved, Louie might be the one you’ve been waiting for. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Story
Meet Goldie — a sweet, affectionate little girl who’s looking for a loving home where she can continue to thrive. Goldie is about 9 lbs and is believed to be a mix of Chihuahua, Spaniel and Poodle — though her exact mix is anyone’s guess. She has a beautifully soft coat that doesn’t seem to shed and is estimated to be around 2-3 years old. Goldie is settling in beautifully at her foster home in Mount Albert, where she’s happiest curled up on everyone’s lap whenever she gets the chance. She’s a very social, happy pup who loves meeting new people and eagerly runs up to say hello. She has met children and was very happy to see them, and we feel she would do well in a home with older kids who understand and respect dog boundaries. Goldie is adaptable, joyful, and takes new experiences in stride. She loves toys, zoomies, and interactive play, and she continues to make great progress every day. Goldie would thrive in a home with another playful dog who enjoys companionship and fun, but she would also do very well as the only dog as long as she receives plenty of attention, regular walks, and opportunities to burn off her energy. We did explore a home with cats for Goldie, but it became clear that a cat-free home would be the most comfortable and stress-free environment for her. Our goal is simply to set her up for long-term success in a space where she can fully relax and be herself. Cuddly, affectionate, and eager to bond with her people, Goldie is ready to bring love, playfulness, and lots of lap time to her forever home ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Story
Jean-Pierre (JP) is a striking three-year-old Standard Poodle who has made remarkable progress since being found abandoned in Quebec. When he first arrived at the shelter, he was frightened, in pain from an untreated ear infection, and unsure of people. With care, patience, and medical treatment, he started to heal — both physically and emotionally — and showed the sweet, loyal nature that defines him today.

Story
We recently adopted Buddy just over 1.5yrs ago from the Clarington shelter. He was brought in as a stray so unfortunately we have no idea what he truly went through. Buddy is a very sweet, loving and caring dog. He is extremely affectionate, loves his treats and loves to cuddle. He is also a very anxious dog which unfortunately comes off as reactivity. In the time that weve had him, he did bite once. We briefly tried behavioural training but unfortunately we did not make much progress as we weret able to devote enough time for Buddy due to our work schedules. Although he is a much different dog now than he was 1.5 years ago, its unfortunately not something we can keep up with in our family. He really has made tremendous progress these last 18 months. Is gotten to the point where we feel like weve done all we can but he just needs more. He needs a good, healthy and calm environment. He needs someone who has more experience with dogs with behavioural issues and consistency.

Story
Thank you for your interest in Mozart. Some dogs get every opportunity. Mozart is not one of them. Despite his sweetness, loyalty, and gentle nature, life has handed this beautiful Standard Poodle the short end of the stick far too many times. He has been owned, surrendered, adopted, returned, adopted again, returned again, transferred to SPIN, moved between fosters, adopted once more — and then returned yet again. Each time, Mozart tried. Each time, he bonded. And each time, humans let him down. When a Quebec shelter reached out for help after his second return, we knew we had to step in. Beneath his stress and confusion, there was a wonderful dog whose emotional needs simply weren’t being met. Once in our care, we discovered he was a purebred Standard Poodle with a heart bigger than his struggles — and a history that finally needed to change. Today, Mozart has been with dedicated, experienced fosters for two months. He is decompressing, learning, and showing us exactly who he is when he feels safe and understood.
