Story
Thank you for your interest in Hubert. He is such a fun loving, energetic, happy, barky boy. He loves people and dogs and life. Some of it he loves a little too much. Well, not too much for him but too much for other dogs. But he is really just a softee who wants to run and play and be chased. Hubert hasn't had the best start in life. He was sold to an elderly owner who wasn't able to manage a happy, energetic dog so Hubert landed in a day care/boarding facility. His owner wasn't able to take him back and the really sad things started happening. He was sold, returned, sold, returned and finally someone took him to the vet. Hubert was really matted and was finally groomed. It was then discovered that he had a terrible ear infection and an infected toe! Once again people had failed him. Off to the vet he went and as soon as he received treatment he felt so much better and his happy came out! He went to live with another family and they really loved him but underestimated how much energy is required when you have a dog like Hubert so SPIN was called. Hubert is just the kind of dog we love! Running, bouncing, barking, playing, snuggling, hugging, what could be better?

Story
Jean-Pierre (JP) is a striking three-year-old Standard Poodle who has made remarkable progress since being found abandoned in Quebec. When he first arrived at the shelter, he was frightened, in pain from an untreated ear infection, and unsure of people. With care, patience, and medical treatment, he started to heal — both physically and emotionally — and showed the sweet, loyal nature that defines him today.

Story
Mags is a young, bright, emotionally big Standard Poodle who has had a busier start to life than most. She grew up in homes that cared about her, but none were quite equipped to manage her energy, her enthusiasm, or her tendency to become overstimulated. After finding herself in a shelter—confused, over-aroused, and unsure how to channel all her excitement—Mags came into SPIN’s care so she could finally get the structure and support she has always needed. She is an affectionate, social girl with a lot of love to give, but she experiences the world at full volume. New places, new people, and outdoor environments can cause her arousal to spike quickly, which leads to jumping, grabbing, and mouthy behaviour. None of this comes from a place of aggression—Mags simply hasn’t been shown how to regulate her emotions.

Story
Meet Moose: Your New Best Friend (and Professional Shadow)! At just 16 months old and approx. 15lbs, Moose is a handsome Havanese/Bichon Frise mix and the perfect blend of puppy energy and heart-melting charm. A true social butterfly, Moose lives for playtime, long walks, and being exactly where you are at all times. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will make sure you never feel alone, Moose is your guy. Moose was surrendered through no fault of his own. His previous family loved him very much, but with a busy household full of young children, they realized they didn’t have the time a young, active pup like Moose deserves. He’s now ready for a home that can give him the attention and fun he thrives on. The Highlights Personality: Playful, affectionate, and full of that classic puppy energy and curiosity. Social Life: A total socialite! Moose is great with people, children, and other dogs. Skills: Knows his basic commands and is fully crate trained—he’s happy to settle in his crate when left home alone. Hobbies: Chasing his favorite ball, exploring the neighborhood, and absolutely loving the snow! He’s a true fan of the great outdoors. Maintenance: As a Havanese/Bichon mix, Moose will need regular grooming to keep his coat soft, fluffy, and mat-free. The Ideal Home Moose is looking for a family that can embrace his “big puppy” spirit. His dream home includes: • A Fenced Yard: Because he’s young and full of beans, a fenced yard is ideal. It gives him a safe space to burn off energy and pounce on snowflakes. • A Local Lifestyle: Moose can get car sick, so he’d prefer a home where daily adventures are within walking distance while he continues building his confidence with car rides. • Cat-Free (or Cautious): He has not been cat-tested yet, so his feelings about feline friends are still unknown. Room to Grow Moose is a smart boy, but like any teenager, he’s still learning and growing! He would benefit from a patient owner who can continue working on: • Leash Skills & Recall: He gets excited about the world around him and will thrive with continued guidance on walking manners and coming when called. •Polishing His Manners: Like many young dogs, Moose can be expressive at times and will do best with consistent, positive reinforcement to help him learn when to settle and relax. The Verdict: Moose is a stunning, loyal, and energetic pup who just needs a little guidance and a yard to call his own. If you have a ball to throw and a cozy spot beside you, he’s ready to become your new best friend. Moose is being fostered in Mount Albert and will be neutered on Feb. 19. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Story
Meet WILLA — Our Beautiful Newest Rescue Girl Willa is being fostered in East Oshawa (Hampton area). Willa is a 7-year-old Cockapoo, weighing approximately 25 lbs, who came to us as an owner surrender. She was clearly well loved and cared for, but with the recent addition of toddlers in her previous home, life became overwhelming for her and led to anxiety around young children. Willa is a sweet soul who truly enjoys the company of her humans. While she is friendly, she has little interest in other dogs and has made it clear that she must be the ONLY dog in the home. She is not enjoying having a foster sibling, and we believe she will thrive best soaking up all the attention as a solo pup. She’s still settling into her new environment, so she isn’t quite a cuddle bug just yet — but with time, patience, and love, Willa continues to show us more of her wonderful personality and we’re confident she will keep blossoming. WILLA’S IDEAL HOME: A quiet household with NO young children (teenagers are fine). Someone who is home most of the time. A detached home (condos are NOT suitable, as Willa will bark at noises). A secure, fenced yard — based on the foster recommendation as the learn more about her! Willa has a low-to-medium energy level and is happiest relaxing near her people. She enjoys her daily walks (though she does tend to pull a bit on leash) and loves playing with her toys — but she would prefer not to share them with another dog. THE PERKS: House-trained & non destructive Can roam freely in the home Sleeps through the night on her favorite bed and blanket Eats well and happily accepts treats Not crate trained and would not enjoy confinement Like most Cockapoos, Willa will require grooming a few times per year to keep her looking and feeling her best. If you’re looking for a calm, loyal, and loving companion, Willa could be the perfect match. She truly deserves a safe, quiet forever home where she can feel secure, understood, and cherished. If you think Willa is the one for you, please apply to adopt her today. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Story
Beau Jax is a 4-year-old standard poodle weighing approximately 85 lbs, currently being fostered in Stouffville. He’s new to his foster home and is a very shy, gentle soul who is still finding his footing after losing the person he loved dearly. His owner sadly passed away, but it’s clear Beau Jax was truly cherished—his calm, sweet nature speaks volumes about the love he knew. Beau Jax is a true gentleman. He’s fully house-trained, has excellent manners in the home, and prefers a relaxed lifestyle filled with cozy naps and quiet snuggles. While he hasn’t shown much interest in play just yet, he absolutely loves affection and will happily soak up pats and attention. He has no anxiety when left alone, making him an easy companion for someone who needs to step out during the day. He’s low to medium energy, great with other dogs, and will politely let you know when someone is at the door. He hasn’t shown overexcitement when being outside so far, which may be due to the cold weather or simply because he feels more secure relaxing in his foster home while everything is still so new. Beau Jax has a great appetite and enjoys a steady, calm routine. As a standard poodle, he will require regular grooming and will benefit from leash training, as he is a big, strong boy. He would do best with someone confident and physically able to handle his strength on walks. He requires a house with a fully fenced in backyard. Overall, Beau Jax is a calm, sweet, and affectionate companion who is ready for a loving home where he can continue to feel safe, secure, and adored. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly.
