Story
We acquired Simba from a breeder about 4 years ago. He is the sweetest boy and very obedient. We are looking for a loving home where he will be showered with affection and a lot of space indoors and out for him to roam or laze about (which is more his style). Simba does have what seems to be some gut issues and has had ear infections that we have treated in the past. His vet hasn’t been very helpful so I’m not sure but I just wanted whoever the lucky family is that takes this gentle giant to know the full picture. I wish we didn’t have to rehome him but my son had his adenoids removed due to the allergies and is still constantly sneazing and breaks out in hives whenever he touches anything Simba has touched. Simba is absolutely an angel. He’s super gentle and has never ever shown us any aggression. His bark is very handy in scaring away possible intruders and pesky sales people lol I want the best possible home for him, he deserves it.

Story
CYRUS / 1.5 years old / Male / 20 kg / Mixed Breed / Originally from Tennessee / Fostered in Guelph
Good with dogs and older children / Untested with cats / House and crate trained
To see more of Cyrus’s journey, check out his foster mom's IG profile @fostrandmy3amigos
Meet Cyrus - the most handsome gent with the sweetest nature, despite a tough start to life. Cyrus was rescued as a stray, scared and starving. We don't know his past, why he has half a tail, or why he shut down for so long. What we do know is that Cyrus is fully embracing his new life and so ready for a family to call his own.
Cyrus no longer hides in a corner; now he greets every new day with a wagging tail, seeking out pets and affection. He spends his days frolicking in the backyard, playing with his canine foster siblings, bouncing after toys and settling down for quiet naps. Watching him slowly shed his fears and gain confidence and trust is one of the most joyful and rewarding experiences ever! Once Cyrus is on your side, you’ve got a friend for life.
Cyrus is still quite fearful of the leash and his foster mom continues to work on desensitizing him to this. Cyrus will need a backyard so he can get his playful energy out while he works on becoming comfortable on the leash. It would be better if he wasn’t left alone for long days as he adjusts to his new environment. He may sing his sad song to let you know he misses you, mostly when he's in his crate alone. He's comfortable being left for 4 hours a day when given free roam of the house.
He would benefit from another playful well balanced dog to help him gain confidence and trust in his humans. Cyrus does need an experienced owner who understands timid and fearful dogs, someone who will give him space and continue to help him grow into the amazing dog he was always meant to be, and is only now getting the chance to become.
Cyrus has truly transformed in the few weeks he's been in Canada. Could you be that special someone to give him a chance at the future he so deserves? He will be the most loving best friend you could imagine. Story
Peanut / Female / 3 Years Old / Medium Mixed Breed / 18.1 kg or 40 lbs / Rescued from Tennessee/ Fostered in Barrie Good with Dog-Savvy Kids (12+) Good with Other Dogs Not Tested with Cats Potty Trained Meet Peanut: Your Loving Companion Sweet, gentle, and the best companion you could ask for – that's Peanut! This affectionate pup is eagerly awaiting her forever home, and according to her foster family, she's the perfect furry friend. Peanut adores being by your side, whether you're working, watching TV, or just hanging out. She'll happily entertain herself with her favorite toys, like her stuffed animal or deer antler chew, while you relax. Known for spreading joy and smiles wherever she goes, with proper introductions, Peanut is incredibly friendly with both people and other dogs. While she hasn't met any cats or kids yet, she's likely to hit it off with older, dog-savvy children. Peanut's enthusiasm knows no bounds, as evidenced by her happy, full-body wiggles whenever she's excited – she's simply irresistible! While she's not a fan of vacuums or spray bottles, Peanut is a quick learner and is currently mastering the art of sitting. Although she’s just starting out on the leash and occasionally gets distracted by squirrels, Peanut is making strides in curbing that behaviour during walks. With continued dedication and patience, she’s well on her way to mastering every trick in the book. Peanut would do best in a home that has a yard. Being able to run around and have fun in a yard of her own would be a dream! Ready to welcome a furry friend into your home? If Peanut sounds like your perfect match, reach out to Canine Haven today! **PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED - https://caninehaven.org/dog-application/* For inquiries please do not use Adoptapet/Petfinder inquiry button - send an email directly to hello@caninehaven.org

Story
GRIZZLY / Male / 9 mths / 55 lbs ; 27kg (likely will be 75-80lbs when fully grown)/ Rotti-German Shepherd-Cane Corso Mix / Fostered near Port Hope, Ontario Good with other dogs and dog-savvy cats / Good with older, dog-savvy kids / Crate and house trained Grizz has rizz, and is ready to charm his way into your heart with those big puppy dog eyes and goofy demeanour! Grizzly is a growing boy who is learning to trust people and the outside world. Once he is comfortable with you his goofy, extremely loving personality comes through and he wants nothing more than to hang out near by, get all the pets, and share his affection. While his name might sound intimidating, he's really a cuddly bear! He has oodles of puppy energy to go around so he'd love a home where he can play and use his noodle with training and brain games to tire him out. Grizzly loves to play wrestle and tug-o-war with his canine foster sibling, then gnaw on a juicy chew stick before heading to his crate, napping as hard as he played! Grizzly loves going outside but can get scared at first of new things, and is gaining confidence each passing day and is encouraged by his foster parents. He didn’t have much socialization the first few months of his life, so on walks he is fearful of children and other dogs and begins barking, however, he can be easily redirected with treats. When he is scared of something he will come to his human for reassurance and comfort. He can be protective of his human around new people, and will need help to work on proper introductions. Grizzly is a bright boy who loves to impress you with how quickly he can pick up new skills and tricks, in exchange for a treat of course! He's very food motivated and would thrive with a family who can continue his training so he can be the best dog he can be. This includes helping him learn his manners and having positive interactions with other dogs and people. Grizz can be a bit of a food thief so he takes his meals in the calmness of his crate. Given his rowdier play and larger size he would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy, kids. He’d love a resident dog to play with and learn from, but would do great as a solo dog too. A quieter neighbourhood and with a family who can give him the guidance, love, and exercise he craves would be best for him. Grizz will steal your heart quickly and has so much love to give! Will you be the lucky someone who gets to soak it all up? Apply to foster or foster to adopt him today! https://caninehaven.org/dog-application/  Neutered / Microchipped / Up to date on vaccinations **PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED -https://caninehaven.org/dog-application/*

Story
Daisy / 8 Months / Female / MIXED BREED / 23 kgs - 50 lbs / Currently fostered in Scarborough Good with dogs/kids | Untested with cats | House and crate-trained Major medical concerns: none Meet Daisy, an irresistibly cute puppy with a pair of mesmerizing puppy dog eyes. She's a people-loving pooch who can't contain her excitement when visitors come over. She greets them with her signature happy dance, eagerly waiting for hugs and kisses. Daisy is a friendly girl and makes sure to get pets and love from everyone in the room. This playful pup has a unique personality and an abundance of love to give. Daisy's favorite game is sniffing out hidden treats, and she enjoys de-stuffing teddies and pillows to keep herself entertained. Spending time with her humans is the highlight of her day. She likes to watch her humans cook and even attends their work meetings when she's not napping the afternoon away in her crate. She would love to run and play in a backyard, preferably with a furry or human sibling, and she loves nothing more than cuddling up with them on the couch during movie nights. She'll even try to sneak into their bed if no one is watching, but she listens when asked to get down, even if other commands are still a work in progress. Daisy is usually calm and relaxed, but sometimes she gets the zoomies! Thankfully, she is very gentle and caring of her surroundings. Daisy is afraid of loud noises, especially from cars and traffic, but she'll learn to feel safe with time and reassurance from a loving owner. Fortunately, she's very food and treat-motivated, making her a quick study when it comes to training. Daisy's ideal home would include another pup to show her the ropes of life and preferably a house with a backyard, away from the noisy city traffic. This sweet puppy is ready to love and just wants to be by your side forever!
