Story
BuBu is a former trailer park stray who has been in rescue now for about two years. When in a crate, he can sound a bit like a Tasmanian Devil, but as soon as he's out, he's in your lap and kissing your face! BuBu has some triggers we're still trying to figure out: it's not men, ballcaps, sunglasses or beards. He barks at some dogs, but not all. BuBu will need a home without small children (although he loves kids!) and many new visitors. Once he's met you once, it seems you are his friend forever! He's got the typical terrier energy and does react to fast moving objects, so a home without cats or other small animals would be best. He currently lives in a home with many other dogs and does fine. WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $365 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturdays, and not all animals are able to attend. So if you would like to see a specific animal, please let us know so that we can try to make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Only those with an approved application on file will have a meeting scheduled. Event locations do vary, so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us cover medical expenses for all of our animals. Saving lives is not cheap, so thank you for understanding and helping us save as many as possible. Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.

Story
Howdy to Zeus! He is a 13 year old male chiweenie. Very scared but is wanting to be loved. No kids as he can be a bit snarky. Okay with other dogs. Would do best with a dog-savvy, or at least a chihuahua-savvy adopter with the patience to build his trust and confidence. WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. Story
Dump was found... At a dump. He was actually IN a trash compactor. There is very little chance he got into that predicament on his own, and we are so glad he was found before he was hurt. He is approximately 5-years old at intake and came to us very fearful and distrustful of humans, but never aggressive. With the love of his foster mom, he is learning to trust. Dump loves car rides, is learning to walk on a leash, and loves treats and takes them gently. He has so much love to give to the right person. Adoption fee of $290 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue.
