Story
I have had melly since she was a puppy. She got hurt several times when she was a puppy and persevered thru it beautifully so my thought in naming her was she was sweet n tough so I thought about Carmel and got the name melly. I hate to even have to get rid of her but I am a mother of six and we have went thru a lot of change with moving and other things so having the finances or the time to take care of her has been very challenging and she deserves so much better. She is a very good dog she is potty trained knows how to sit and stay and go to bed when directedand comes when she is called. She has been raised around my 6 children and is very gentle towards them. She is a very good watch dog but also knows when to stop barking when directed.it has been a joy to have her as my pet and I would just love to be able to find her a home where she can run and play and be loved.

Story
Bubble Profile: We are having to rehome our sweet puppies. Our vet recommended that this would be the best option for them. We would like them to stay together if at all possible. Bubbles has a very sweet, calm temperament. She loves to cuddle, enjoys ear scratches, and will happily relax at your feet all day if allowed. She is spayed and microchipped. Bruce is a bit more playful than Bubbles. He enjoys affection and side scratches, but his favorite activity is playing with stuffed or squeaky toys-especially when you toss them for him to chase. He does have a slightly sensitive stomach and does best on protein and brown-rice based foods. Bruce is neutered and microchipped. Both Bubbles and Bruce are siblings. They are up to date on all vaccinations, current on flea and heartworm prevention, are crate trained, and do well with school-aged children and older. They may pull a bit on the leash during walks. They will be turning five this month (Nov).

Story
Stella is an amazing dog. Shes so smart, knows all the basic commands and has the best sense of humor. Shes great with kids, doesn't mess with the cat, and is a major cuddler. Shes crate trained as well. She would come with a crate, tons of dog toys, tons of treats, and her dog food and bowls. As well as leashes, collars and her dog beds. Yes, we spoiled her. She does have eye drops as needed but rarely needed.

Story
UPDATE 11/1/25: Laura is proving to be the sweetest baby! She did great at her first adoption event and was calm amid other barking dogs and lots of human admirers. She loves to be held and is nearly fully potty trained. Laura will make a loving, loyal companion and would love another dog to keep her company. ---------------------------------- Laura just showed up on a family's doorstep one day! She was not chipped and nobody was looking for her, so we got her spayed and vaccinated, and she is ready for adoption! We have no history on her, so we're all starting from scratch! The vet estimated her at 6 months of age. Her foster daddy is working hard on potty training her between her endless kisses. She like to be carried, sleeps in her crate all night and would do fine as an only pup or with others. We are working on socialization and building her confidence. Laura has only been with us for a short time, so keep checking back here and on our Facebook site for updates as we learn more about her. WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $410 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap so thank you for your understanding and helping us save as many as possible. Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.

Story
UPDATE: Fidget has bounced back as a tripod like nothing ever happened! He has adjusted perfectly as he continues to heal. Check out LowCountry Animal Rescue on Facebook to see video of him just 24 hours after surgery and further updates! ----------------------------------- HISTORY: Fidget literally had only a few hours left on the euthanasia list at a rural shelter. Our volunteer just had to pull this beautiful chiweenie into rescue. Fidget's front leg has fused joints and is non-functional. We don't know whether it was congenital or an old injury, for we know nothing of his history. His shoulder muscles are atrophied, and our vets will evaluate for the best course of action to avoid any potential complications. Fidget did well at his first adoption event and handled dogs, cats and lots of noise and people well. He seems well on his way to become a confident, well-socialized dog. He'd only been with foster mom a day, and he had bonded strongly with her. We are sure he will quickly adjust to any loving family. We are guessing he's probably 3-5 years old.
