Story
He is one of the 12 chihuahuas pulled from a hoarding case up in Anderson SC. One of our "little" volunteers had a wonderful idea to name them after gem stones. Little did we know at that time, there just happens to be 12 precious stones. So naming them after gemstones was just meant to be. He is 5 years old and weighs 7.4 lbs. He needs a loving home that can be patient and tolerant of a scared little guy learing to be a loved pet. Although they know humans, they were never taught affection and love. His foster parents are working to gain his trust and showing him what a loving home should be. Foster update: Because Marcus came from a hoarding case, he finds comfort in the company of other dogs. He will sleep in bed with you either on a pillow next to you or under the covers. When he wakes up he is full of snuggles and kisses! He is not crazy about being picked up or held but does tolerate both. WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $265 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue.
