Story
Gorgeous Grace is beautiful on the inside as well as on the outside. She is very outgoing and friendly, and gets along well with the cats and dogs in her foster home. If the dogs get too energetic Grace is the perfect friend – she knows when to retreat and leave the silliness to the puppers. When she is not lounging with the resident hound, she follows her foster humans around for pets and attention. Gregarious Grace loves small toys, laser pointers and wand toys. She will bat her toys around the house, but always has time for some wand toy action. Grace is not fond of being picked up and held – but with her social schedule, can you blame her?If you`d like to take this kitty home, please fill out an adoption application at this link - https://animalalliesrescue.org/cat-application. The adoption fee is $150 and covers all expenses needed to prepare kitties like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they`ve already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They`ve been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on age-appropriate immunizations against rabies and FVRCP (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus & panleukopenia). Some of our cats have even undergone extensive medical care to ensure they`re ready for a happy, healthy life with you!

Story
Recently Rescued 10–12 Week Old Kittens (Adopting in Pairs!) We’re fostering a litter of recently rescued sibling kittens, about 10–12 weeks old, and adopting them out in pairs. They’re male/female duos, fully litter trained, super playful (they can turn anything into a toy), and little explorers. They’re a bit shy at first, but once they warm up to you will absolutely climb all over you if you let them. We have appointments for their spaying/neutering at the SPCA in January and our neighborhood has all chipped in to cover those costs.

Story
Meet Sebastian, an adult long-haired orange and white gentleman who looks just like a tiny lion—distinguished, regal, and absolutely charming. Originally found at a TNR site, Sebastian showed himself to be very friendly and eager for attention, warming up to new people quickly and getting along well with the cats around him. In the shelter, he can be a bit shy at first, especially with loud or unfamiliar sounds, but give him a little time and his sweet, affectionate nature shines through. Once comfortable, Sebastian loves food, catnip, and will happily relax by your side like the calm, gentle king he is. If you’re looking for a loving, elegant companion with a soft heart beneath his majestic mane, Sebastian is ready to rule your home—with purrs, not roar.

Story
Chanel is a proper prom queen. She`s got The Look. She`s got The Personality. She`s got...Diarrhea? Well, sometimes, yeah. Before we talk about her special needs when it comes to `powdering her nose`, we want to properly introduce Miss Popularity - Miss Chanel. She`s like one of those popular girls who is popular because she`s SO pretty and SO nice and SO cool and you almost hate her but can`t help but to love her because she`s just so....PURRFECT.Even Chanel`s hobbies help highlight her best features: she stares out the window at birds and squirrels, catching the sun in her perfect blue eyes. When she naps, she curls up with her foster mom with her soft, gorgeous fur and smells like lavender and sunshine (well, we don`t know that for sure, but just look at her. that`s our guess). Chanel prefers the company of humans to kitties, so she has a big, comfy room all to herself. But to be honest, that living arrangement is the part we`re hoping to change. After all, a prom queen deserves a castle of her own to roam. Chanel came to AARF as an extremely tiny kitten and due to a congenital condition that resulted in an inability to pass poo, she underwent a surgery that removed most of her colon. Chanel’s foster family nursed her back to health, and now she’s all ready for a new home. Chanel is on a special diet along with B12 and probiotics that help keep the booty-floods at bay. Now and then, there may be a drop of poo, but honestly, a little scat shouldn`t dissuade you from adopting this otherwise perfect cat.She may be labeled `Special Needs,” but her requirements are easy to keep up with. She needs a family that will maintain her diet, and give her the endless love she deserves. If you want to go home with this Prom Queen, contact us to learn more about her.If you`d like to take this kitty home, please fill out an adoption application at this link- https://animalalliesrescue.org/cat-application! The adoption fee is $150.00, and covers all expenses needed to prepare kitties like this one for their forever homes. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online  Adoption Application THE FOLLOWING CAT IS BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME. *Clarisse & Kringle are siblings. It would be great if they could be adopted together, but it is not required.* Meet Kringle! He came into the rescue with his sister, Clarisse. They are both "mini Maine Coons Mix Cats".  When they were kittens, Kringle and Clarisse were kept in a crate, all alone in a basement. They were not handled or socialized; when they arrived at the rescue, they might as well have been wild animals. However, volunteers have had tremendous success transforming Kringle from an extremely distrustful, terrified cat into a nice boy who enjoys pets and soaks up attention! Kringle is still "working on himself," so he needs an adopter who has experience owning cats and is willing to proactively socialize him. Kringle loves having his neck and cheeks scratched-- it puts a big grin on his face! He likes napping on the desk, preferably snuggled up to you. He sleeps on the bed with his people and has even started creeping up to enjoy a warm lap! Kringle is submissive around other cats, but has made friends with a few of his housemates. He doesn't assert himself during playtime, but if there is no competition, he plays gleefully with his rainbow ball and chases anything that wiggles. Kringle is not suited to a household with children. Due to his lack of socialization, Kringle gets overstimulated and will nip at hands. Kringle remains cuddly for longer and longer periods of time, so we are hopeful that when he feels secure in a home of his own, he won't be prone to that behavior. Kringle needs an adopter who is patient but also assertive. Kringle and Clarisse cannot be left to hide and decompress like most cats. They will not "come around in their own time." Kringle's owner must be willing to keep him in a room (or a large enclosure) with *no hiding spots* for several weeks. Ideally, his owner will spend long periods of time in the room, quietly in his presence, playing, and petting him. This "exposure therapy" has worked really well for Kringle, especially because he loves being petted so much! Kringle and Clarisse's foster parents are happy to help strategize and guide their new owner/s through the socialization process. During this time-- and always-- the adopter must be committed to using only positive reinforcement. (Remember, yelling or punishment of any kind teaches cats to be afraid of you; they do not connect your actions to something they did.) Help Kringle continue to grow into the loyal, friendly companion he was destined to be, before he became a victim of neglect. Though his past made Kringle a little complicated, with a bit of TLC, you can give him a future full of affection, trust, and love. Click here to learn more about Clarisse. Kringle's adoption fee is $200.00. There is a $25.00 discount for adopting a pair of MCR cats, so the fee for both Kringle and Clarisse would be $375.00.  Your adoption fee includes spay/neuter, FVRCP Vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, Combo Test (Neg/Neg), dewormer, flea prevention, microchip, and wellness visit.  For more information, contact Maine Coon Rescue at: adoption@mainecoonrescue.net. Online  Adoption Application THE FOLLOWING CAT IS BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME. *Clarisse & Kringle are siblings. It would be great if they could be adopted together, but it is not required.* Clarisse is a gorgeous girl with a big personality! She is a "mini Maine Coon Mix. She has cute little "turtle feet" and a rather unique tail. Clarisse looks like a sophisticated little munchkin, but she is a big-time diva! She loves to play and chase strings, and generally tear around like a wild woman. She enjoys being petted and has super-soft fur. Plus, she has the sweetest, breathy meow that sort of sounds like, "hey."   When she was a kitten, Clarisse and her brother, Kringle, were kept in a crate all alone in a basement. They were not handled or socialized; when they arrived at the rescue, they might as well have been wild animals. Clarisse is not suited to a household with children. Due to her lack of socialization, Clarisse can become overstimulated and will nip or swat at people. She is exhibiting this behavior less and less, so we have high hopes that she will not revert to this defensive behavior after she is settled in with a family she trusts.
