Story
Chalupa, spayed female, long hair torbie, born 4/9/23. Chalupa is the sweetest special needs kitty, having been exposed to toxoplasmosis and treated, with lasting effects in the neurological and breathing areas. But she is as happy as they come and don't have a thought she is even affected. She plays, she climbs eats, sleeps, and uses the bathroom quite normally.  She also takes minimal medication like liver supplement. And she adores her treat time - she comes scurrying across the floor in her cute special way she does. Chalupa can live a long, healthy life. Won't you give a special needs kitty a chance at happiness in a loving home? Ask for as many pictures and videos as you want. You may just find yourself falling for her as I have.   Thank you.  The adoption fee is $100. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, PVR, Rabies, flea, tick, ear mite and worm treatment. To adopt, you need to first fill out an application. Go to: https://rutherfordcountyhumanesociety.org/cat-adoption-application/ We are located in Western North Carolina. Optional transport is weekly.  After your application is approved, we will contact you regarding cost and delivery if you so desire.July 26, 2024, 5:32 pm

Story
Sassy and her littermates were rescued from a car engine.  She may be the smallest from the litter, but she is also the leader with a curious and adventurous spirit. She made friends immediately with the kittens from another litter. Sassy loves ear scritches, belly rubs, and to be combed and brushed. Her smaller size has not stopped her playing and wrestling with her bigger brothers (Chase and Pepper). Sassy leads the chase through the kitten tube and her favorite ball has a bell inside. ##1201179##

Story
Frederico, our handsome Latin lover boy, adores people but not other cats so much. He is playful, loves to cuddle, and wants to be an only fur-child. He was with a family that had to move but sadly could not take Frederico with them. He is very well mannered and would be a perfect companion for a special person or family who only want one kitty to love. ##2059425##

Interested in adopting a kitty?! The first step in the adoption process is the adoption application which is located on our website rescueandadopt.org/adopt Our website includes a lot of info, including a FAQ page with lots of answers. From there if all looks good we will contact you to schedule a meet and greet with you and a the adoptable kitty. We are a foster system so we do not have a facility. Visits to meet an adoptable animal at a foster family is by appointment only. If all goes well at the meet and greet, the next step from there would be the home check and adoption visit where we bring the kitty with us to your home to ensure that you have all the basic supplies set up in an isolation/ introduction room. We can also help answer any additional questions you may have at this time. Then we would do the adoption paperwork and finalize the adoption.  Adoption fees: $150 for kittens and cats under 5 years old. $125 for cats 5 years old and over. We do offer a 15% discount for adopting 2 ADULT cats (over 1 year old) at once.  ##2057479##

Story
Holly was originally adopted in back in 2020 as a small kitten. She lived comfortably with a family until they had a baby, and then another baby. Holly was returned after the family said she did not get along with the young children. We do not know how Holly is with other cats, dogs, or older children. Holly is understandably very scared and confused right now. She is a sweet girl, but just needs someone to be patient with her.  She has beautiful long hair that will need to be brushed regularly or professionally groomed.  Interested in adopting a kitty?!
