Story
Meet Siri!  Siri is a sweet, loving senior girl who came to our care when her dear owner passed.  Siri is loving and affectionate.  Her foster mom describes her as the "perfect cat".   Sirri enjoys a little "bird TV" from time to time and loves lounge by the window. Siri is in excellent health.  She does have a skin allergy which is well under control.  Siri takes daily medication for this as well as limited ingredient diet.   Siri will do best as an only cat in a quiet home.Every PALS cat and kitten has been spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV and is up-to-date on vaccinations. A note about kittens: if you are adopting a kitten, they may need to complete their FVRCP (distemper) series and may not be old enough for their rabies vaccination. These essential vaccines will be the responsibility of their new owner. Detailed vet records and a calendar of vaccination due dates will be provided. The PALS Adoption Center, located inside PetSmart at 10 Traders Way in Salem, MA (just off Highland Ave/Rte 107) BY APPOINTMENT ONLY TO APPROVED ADOPTERS.  Adoption applications can be found online at www.palscats.org.  A completed application is not necessarily an approved application. We do ask for written landlord approval if you rent, or proof of home ownership (water bill, etc.) We will also check your vet references.  You will be contacted by our adoption staff once your application has been approved.  Please note it can take up to 48 hours. Our online sites are updated regularly, but we can not guarantee that a cat you see here is still available. Please email if you have any questions regarding the adoption process or our available cats and kittens. PALS is an all-volunteer, no-kill rescue group. Each and every cat and kitten has been rescued locally. May 21, 2025, 1:53 pm

Story
Meet Rocky.  Rocky is a sweet, loving Maine Coon like female.  Rocky was surrendered to our care when her owner could no longer care for her.  We believe Rocky to be between 6-9 years old.  Rocky loves one on one attention and will prefer to be an only cat. Rocky does have a mild heart murmur and very early heart disease which will need to be monitored in her future home.Every PALS cat and kitten has been spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV and is up-to-date on vaccinations. Story
Hi! I’m Daisy, a beautiful long-haired 2-year-old lady who loves sitting on your lap while you’re working and cuddling in the crevice of your neck while you’re sleeping. I am a total love bug! I ended up with Kitty Connection after my owner couldn’t keep me, nor the friend she gave me to due to her landlord’s 1-pet policy. While I seemed to do well with the friend’s cat, I have been particularly vicious to my foster parents’ resident cat so they recommend I be an only cat. Since I love to cuddle and be around my humans so much, it’d be great to go to a home where someone is always around! One thing I should note: I have a LOT of hair that I love to share :). Daily brushings help, but you should still plan to invest in some fabric rollers and find my fluffy white fur everywhere. Aside from that, I keep it tidy, maintaining my coat in pristine condition, using the litter box like the lady I am, and trimming my nails with the dedicated scratch posts. As a bonus, I come with my own litter box, litter mat, toys, and some fancy feast and tasteful treats! If I sound like I could be the right fit, I’d love to meet you! I am available through Kitty Connection in Medford.

Story
To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston Halo (long haired female tabby) and Nova (short haired black male) are 9 week old kittens. They either need to be adopted together or individually to a home with another young playful cat or cat-friendly dog. Here’s what their foster humans say about them:   How would you describe the cat's general personality? Halo: She’s nutty! She loves to play, and always does so with enthusiasm. She loves to snuggle in on our laps for petting. Nova: He’s a love – we call him Casa-Nova! A sweet guy who’s a bit more independent than Halo, but still enjoys play time and naps hard. Does the cat enjoy being pet? Yes! Halo really loves to be pet, especially if she can be in a channel on your outstretched legs. Nova also likes to be pet while in a channel. If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? We’ve been petting them on their faces, heads and bodies. We have also been working on touching their paws to make it easier to trim their nails. Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? We have not yet tried petting Nova’s belly. Does the cat come on your lap? Yes! They will both come on your lap for play and petting. Nova is also very churu motivated. Does the cat like to be held? They are young and get wriggly quickly, but both are used to being held. Does the cat sleep in your bed? They stay in the foster room and have not had the opportunity to do so. Does the cat seek your attention? YES! They enjoy human interaction. Does the cat like to play? They are both very play motivated. Halo is super enthusiastic for playtime. What are the cat's favorite games and toys? Wand toy play and a bouncy armed cat scratcher. They also enjoy crinkle balls – Halo loves to chase these around the room like she’s playing soccer. How vocal is the cat? Very quiet, both. Nova will sometimes give a little hiss if unsure of a situation. Does the cat scratch a scratcher? They like to climb the vertical scratcher, but have not yet figured out using it for its intended purpose. Their adopters will need to help them learn what are appropriate and inappropriate surfaces are once they figure out how to scratch. Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes, they are litter box trained. Halo had a few misses initially but this seems to have resolved by removing the items she liked to pee on. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? Fancy Feast kitten wet food 3 times a day and Science Diet kitten dried food free feeding. Is the cat picky about food? No What is the cat's favorite treat? Nova LOVES churu! Halo has not shown any interest in treats. Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? No Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? Not intentionally, but being young kittens their claws are sharp and they can leave scratches when playing. Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? No, they are very good about not thinking hands are chew toys. Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? Unsure. They have not met anyone new since coming into our care. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? Nova has the cutest surprise patch of white on his belly!! Halo likes to sniff/lick bare feet and play with slippers, and will rear up on her back paws before pouncing on things. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? Play hard, nap hard is this pair’s motto. When they are running around it’s chaos, but in a good way! Both have a surprising variety of facial expressions. Halo’s hilarious and Nova’s a suave sophisticated kitten. What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? They were initially undersocialized when they arrived, having been born outside on the streets. It’s taken patience and love to bring them out of their shells, and they are now trusting of us and living their best kitten lives!   To learn more about adopting this cat in Massachusetts, please visit www.blackcatrescue.com or fill out an Adoption Profile at https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston.  June 20, 2025, 3:05 pm

MEET BROWNIE!Brownie is working on accepting new people to his inner circle. His transition to the shelter, understandably, hasn`t been the easiest so he is still quite shy. Behind the grump face, however, Brownie enjoys gentle affection and is known to melt into chin scratches. Brownie is looking for a quiet, adult-only, household with owners dedicated to helping him come out of his shell and feel like himself again. If you have lots of patience to give a sweet, shy, boy come in to our Boston shelter to meet him!Brownie is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been neutered, microchipped and been seen by our vet team.
