Story
MEET RING DING!*needs another cat*Ring Ding is gorgeous long haired tuxedo lady. She had been living outside and was brought in by our Rescue Team as part of our Trap/Neuter/Return program; we call these Community Cats. When she showed signs of being social, we kept her at the shelter and made him adoptable. The key to making cats like Ring Ding comfortable in your home is patience - don`t expect her to jump in your lap right away. Rescue folks sometimes quote the Rule of 3: it can take these cats 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to start settling in, and 3 months to feel at home and show their personality. We`ll be happy to give you plenty of information and support as you take this journey with Ring Ding. Your reward for your patience will be a new best friend! Ring Ding is currently up to date on all vaccines, spay/neutered, microchipped and has been seen by our veterinarian. For more information on this or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. Story
Yum Yum is a beautiful 10yo Turkish Van cat with luxurious fur that needs frequent brushing. She is fairly independent, but likes to spend time near her foster, especially when she is at the computer! Yum Yum enjoys occasional pets from her foster and playing with dangly toys, but she is fairly independent. Yum Yum was bonded to another cat for many years, but we do not know if she will bond with a new cat. She would do best with someone who is home a lot and can spend time with her.

Story
🌸 Meet Harriet – Your Quiet Roommate 🌸 Harriet is a 13-year-old beauty who spent most of her life outdoors before coming to the shelter, and is now enjoying the safety and comfort of a foster home. She’s completely deaf and in the early stages of kidney disease, but that doesn’t stop her from living life exactly as she pleases. Harriet has no interest in sharing her space with other animals. She’ll graciously tolerate humans — mostly because they make excellent food servants and providers of a comfy bed. She’s not aggressive, and she’s easy to care for when needed, but she prefers relationships to unfold slowly. Yet with patience and a gentle approach, she may surprise you with small steps forward. Her favorite time is nighttime, when the house is quiet and hers alone. That’s when she’ll explore, patrol from a window perch, and enjoy a spirited game with a catnip toy. Daytime is for luxurious naps in sunny, low-traffic spots. Harriet is looking for a calm, patient, cat-savvy home that will respect her boundaries while still giving her the chance to build confidence and enjoy the quiet companionship of “her” human. She may never be a lap cat, but she’s the kind of roommate who knows what she likes — and when she’s content, her slow blinks are her way of saying thanks. As we are closed to the public, adoptions are by appointment only. If you have an interest in meeting Harriet, please fill out our online adoption application (https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MWHS/Cat). We will review all applications and make appointments for those applicants we feel would provide a good and loving home for Harriet.

Story
Daisy is a sweet, gentle girl who was surrendered when her family could no longer care for her.  Daisy has stunning brown tabby fur with white markings.  Daisy is loving and affectionate.  Daisy will do best as an only cat in an adult home where she will be a loving companion.Every PALS cat and kitten has been spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV and is up-to-date on vaccinations. A note about kittens: if you are adopting a kitten, they may need to complete their FVRCP (distemper) series and may not be old enough for their rabies vaccination. These essential vaccines will be the responsibility of their new owner. Detailed vet records and a calendar of vaccination due dates will be provided. The PALS Adoption Center, located inside PetSmart at 10 Traders Way in Salem, MA (just off Highland Ave/Rte 107) BY APPOINTMENT ONLY TO APPROVED ADOPTERS.  Adoption applications can be found online at www.palscats.org.  A completed application is not necessarily an approved application. We do ask for written landlord approval if you rent, or proof of home ownership (water bill, etc.) We will also check your vet references.  You will be contacted by our adoption staff once your application has been approved.  Please note it can take up to 48 hours. Our online sites are updated regularly, but we can not guarantee that a cat you see here is still available. Please email if you have any questions regarding the adoption process or our available cats and kittens. PALS is an all-volunteer, no-kill rescue group. Each and every cat and kitten has been rescued locally. November 24, 2025, 11:40 am
