Story
Winter is a stunning senior lady! This 12-year-old is independent and likes to keep to herself most of the time but that's not to say that she's not curious about what's going on around her. She just prefers to watch from a distance. She loves mealtime and treats, and chasing her ribbon wand toy.  Unfortunately, Winter tested positive for both Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). There is no cure for FeLV and we don't know how much longer we have with this sweet lady! If you'd like to learn more about FeLV and FIV in cats, please refer to the links below: https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-leukemia-virus https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv Winter also had some mammary tumors that turned out to be grade II carcinomas. While the tumors were completely excised, there was vascular invasion which means that there is cancer floating around in her bloodstream waiting to land and take root somewhere. Winter is a hospice cat and we're looking for a loving and patient home for her where she can continue to live out the rest of her days in peace. With a slow and proper introduction, Winter would do okay with another FeLV positive cat. She is currently being fostered in Brighton. Story
Spayed FemaleAge: 7 YearsBrown TabbyDomestic Long HairA436519 More about China: I am a sweet, easy-going, fluffy girl. I am described as being good with visitors, and I did well living with another cat in my previous home. We have minimal information for me regarding what I was like in a home, so my adopter should prepare to offer me a slow introduction to my new home, and let my true personality come out over time. Other than the one cat I lived with we have no other history of me living with pets, but I might do well with a slow introduction if the existing pets are mellow and cat-savvy. I arrived at the shelter with lots of mats, so my adopter will need to help me with grooming upkeep. The shelter is open Tuesday through Sunday from noon - 3:00 pm, with no appointment needed to meet available cats.Compatibility:Dogs: Possibly no historyCats: Possibly no historyKids: Older mellow, cat savvy
