Good with dogs, Good with cats,
Story
He is a sweet, cuddly, loveable little boy. He grew up in a loving household, with a dog and seven litter mates. He is looking for his forever home. He would like to be adopted with his twin brother Frank, (he is camera shy) but, he knows that isn't always possible. Above all, he is excited to find his new wonderful family. He is boxed-trained, has first shots, and a year's dose of Revolution. He was born in mid-May.

He is an adorable sweet boy full of love; he has many cuddles to share. He grew up in a loving home with 7 littermates and a dog; he is litterbox trained and has his first round of shots and a dose of Revolution. He is bonded with his brother (pictured) and they can be adopted together, however, that is not necessary. He is excited to find his forever home and fall in love with his new family. He was born in mid-May to a small mother and father, so he is likely to be on the small side.

Story
Meet Lovey! Mama Lovey was rescued back in March from a local shelter. She was pregnant at the time, so we wanted to give her a quiet and safe place to have her babies. She had her five beautiful babies in March and she was a great mom. Lovey now deserves a loving home of her own. She is an absolute love bug. She is a talker with a raspy meow. She loves pets, plays like a kitten at times, and can find quiet moments to grab a nap... and is all-around a wonderful cat. We believe her to be a couple of years old. Lovey is also FIV+. We encourage you to take the time to read about FIV on our website (sheltertohome.com under Resources - FIV Facts) if you are not familiar with FIV. It is not a death sentence and not an easily transmitted disease. In fact, most current articles and studies suggest that it truly shouldn't be a deterrent to adopting a pet and providing them a wonderful life. Lovey would prefer to be an only cat, not because she is FIV+, but because sh would prefer to have all your attention for herself. Please contact us at info@sheltertohome.com if you're interested in Lovey. **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home. Adoption fees are usually $50 for cats and between $150-$250 for dogs, unless the pet is sponsored or we are running a promotion. Please visit our website at sheltertohome.com for information on our adoption process.**September 29, 2023, 9:22 pm

Story
Amelia Rose came to us with a terrible upper respiratory infection that destroyed her left eye. This poor girl also had just about every intestinal parasite a cat can get. For the first month in foster care, she was forced to endure frequent doses of yukky medications. She was very hand shy to begin with, and constantly being grabbed and held for medication has caused her to be very hand shy. She loves to be petted, however if she thinks I'm going to try to grab her, she takes off. She will get on my lap and cuddles with me in bed, but she can't be picked up. I had to sneak up on her to catch her for her spay surgery and she has already forgiven me for that. She will need a patient owner and a very calm home. Crazy dogs running around or young kids being loud and running through the house would terrify her.Amelia is not a hider. When we have company over, she does come out watch what's going on. If I have a friend over to watch movies, Amelia may get on her lap, but if we have several friends over for game night, she just watches from a distance. She really just hates the idea of being held or picked up. Nail trims or giving medication will be next to impossible unless she overcomes her fear of being held. I've only trimmed her nails once and it required getting her to eat a sedative in a treat, waiting for her to go into a dog crate for food and locking her in there. I then called a friend to come over and it took about 5 minutes to be able to catch her with a towel, even though she was crated. My friend then had to hold her down on the sofa, while I searched for her paws inside the towel so I could do her nails. It was quite a process and not something I look forward to doing again.Amelia's best friend is another kitten that's been here for a few months while being treated for an eye issue. She chases and wrestles with the kitten many times during the day. She gets along with everyone from my younger cats to my seniors and is fine with our mellow dogs. I do not adopt my kittens out as an only cat. If you are interested, please email Beagmom1@yahoo.com. Thank you. **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Kip is a very handsome, gentle soul, who needs a hero. Quick Facts:About 10 years oldTakes Prozac which is 1 small pill per day hidden in a treat. Very inexpensive.OK with friendly cats and calm dogsHe would do best in a calm, quiet home. Now for the details... Kip was adopted many years ago, but returned when the family had a baby and Kip became so upset he started peeing on the baby blankets. We believe in full disclosure with our animals, which is why I won't hide the fact that he did that...but...we had no issues with this when he was at our pet adoption center. When we sent him to a foster home with one older person, he hid under the bed all day and roamed her home at night. We eventually moved him to my home, where he is now, and put him on Prozac, which is inexpensive. I put it inside a cat treat once a day and he inhales it with no problem. There has been a miraculous change since the medication began working. Kip used to hide under a blanket all the time as if he was terrified of everything. Now, he meows when he wants attention and he'll greet me with head bumps, belly flops, and he'll lick my hair. He's a changed man. When I go downstairs to do laundry, he comes out to greet me and get lovies. He stays in our basement because we have 1 cat who is mean to him, but when I am down there, he is out seeking attention. My husband works full time downstairs so Kip isn't alone, he just likes me best because I'm "the treat lady". Kip is a gorgeous boy who isn't a picky eater. He is using his litterbox perfectly. Kip has lived with other cats and gets along well with friendly cats. He is submissive, and would not do well with a dominant cat who would bully him. He is fine with our dogs when they are calm and just walking around, but he is afraid when they're playing or barking. Kip needs someone willing to give him the time he will need to settle into a new home and bond with a new human. He's been shuffled around to many places and doesn't feel a sense of security. A small home with limited spaces for him to hide would be best. He will need to learn trust and to feel safe in his new home. If you think you have the perfect home for Kip, or just want to talk about him, please contact me at Beagmom1@yahoo.com. Thank you.**All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age.
