Story
Templeton and his brother were taken from an especially rough hoarding situation. Police intervened and all animals were extracted. It took a while for Templeton to overcome his fear of being hurt, but he did it! And is he ever a silly boy! He would thrive in a home with another mild mannered cat, and currently lives with calm dogs. If you want to know more about this cat, email us here: wacvolunteers@gmail.com! * AGE: 2 years old * TEMPERAMENT: Lap cat, would be ok as a solitary or with another mild cat * Why are they at the shelter? Rescued by police * Any Health issues? None known but can be nervous in hectic surroundings * How are they with other cats? Dogs? Good but needs to be with gentle animals * Volunteer Comments? " Templeton is such a brave cat!" "He loves brushing and attention." Thank you for your interest in adopting a shelter cat! NOW HOW DO I MEET OR ADOPT THIS CAT? !. Story
Approx birthdate 5/24/24 Vienna Vienna came in with her sisters, Latte and Mocha. She is the most shy of the three but is extremely affectionate and playful when she's comfortable. Her personality has always been a bit timid and will likely hide when guests visit but she is vocal and playful with her people. Her best opportunity would be adoption with her sibling(s) so they help her feel safe in a new place.  **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home. Adoption fees are usually $50 for cats and between $150-$250 for dogs, unless the pet is sponsored or we are running a promotion. Please visit our website at sheltertohome.com for information on our adoption process.**December 7, 2024, 7:33 am

Story
Armondo and his brother, Alphie, are an inseparable bonded pair. As best buds, their companionship provides comfort and security, and they always have each other's back. They have come a long way while in foster care, but they will need time to accept new people and places when they are adopted. The boys would do best in a calm, quiet home. They are used to a small, mellow dog. They slept in bed with their foster mom, but are not fans of being picked up or having nail trims. Something you should know is that both brothers have heart murmurs and were diagnosed with VSD (Ventricular septal defect) as kittens, though you wouldn't know it as they behave just like normal cats. At his recent cardiologist appointment at MSU, his body has adapted very well to his heart defect and all other test results are normal. There is no need for medication or special treatment at this time. VSD is a heart defect that doesn't go away. The boys need a special person who is willing to be thoroughly educated on VSD and be mindful of his diagnoses. They will need to be mindful of changes in his behavior and to provide regular cardiology visits to monitor any progression of his heart problem. At some point, down the road, medication may be needed. **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. Story
Alfie is a sweet, adorable, pretty boy with the softest belly fur. He'll flop on his back with a big stretch and wave at you for tummy rubs. He and his brother, Armondo, are inseparable and must be adopted together. Alphie is a calm fellow who likes his independence. He doesn't love being picked up and carried, but he loves pets and has developed a fondness for snuggling on the bed. He'll wiggle up on his foster mom's lap when he thinks she's not paying attention. He's very inquisitive, always wants to know where you are and what you're doing. His favorite playthings are pieces of string, feathers, little bugs, and anything that higgles under the covers. New places and faces, sudden loud noises and movements can make him feel frightened. With patience and plenty of time to feel safe, you'll see his true personality blossom. Something you should know is that both brothers have heart murmurs and were diagnosed with VSD (Ventricular septal defect) as kittens, though you wouldn't know it as they behave just like normal cats. According to the cardiologist, Alfie's VSD is a little more severe that his brother's due to it being slightly larger in size. Alfie has a follow up appointment scheduled at the cardiologist for December 16th. All prior medical records will be provided when the boys are adopted. **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. Story
Genevieve is a sweet young cat estimated to be under a year old. She was brought to the shelter with her siblings who have all since found homes. Genevieve suffers from an autoimmune issue that caused an inflammatory response in her eyes. She does have vision, but it is blurred. She is still able to maintain a great quality of life for herself. Appointments to meet her will be scheduled for those who apply to adopt her. For info on meeting and adopting, please see WACshelter.com She is spayed, Feline Leukemia and FIV tested, and vaccinated Does this cat get along with other cats? There is almost always an acclimation period when a new pet joins the household. We are happy to suggest a few ways to ease the transition. Does this cat respond well to dogs? The more important question is how the dog responds to cats. Most cats will adjust to a dog, given time and patience. If the resident dog's response to cats is unknown, that should be determined prior to adding a cat to the household. We can offer a few suggestions. Is this cat good with children? The better question is how the children have been taught to handle animals. A cat will respond negatively if he/she is not being handled properly. We can offer suggestions on how to teach children to interact with cats. To apply to adopt online go to https://wacshelter.com/adopt-a-cat/ ALL ANIMALS LISTED AS ADOPTABLE ARE AVAILABLE TO BE ADOPTED. *ADOPTION FEE: $100 (cash only) includes spay/neuter, distemper vaccine, FIV/FeLV test, and rabies vaccine (if old enough).

Story
Approx birthdate 6/28/24 Woody had a rough start to life with an illness and eye infection. Poor guy needed to have his right eye removed to improve his health, but it hasn't slowed him down! He loves to run and chase his brother Buzz, play with toys, and snuggle when it's time to sleep. Given his more limited eyesight, Woody is cautious in new situations, but loving and playful once he knows all is well. This sweet boy is ready for his forever home!**All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter.
