We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=44, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46) completely. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
*Goldie and Rod are a BONDED PAIR* *UNDERSOCIALZED - WILL REQUIRE SPECIAL ADOPTER* Goldie and her bro bro, Rod, were rescued from a Southfield yard as part of a litter, in the summer of 2021. Goldie and Rod have been been in a loving foster home learning how to trust humans. Their foster mom has done a wonderful job of helping them feel safe and loved. They love to snuggle up on the bed with their foster mom at night and lounge on the couch with her during the day. Goldie and Rod also love to watch tv - especially bird tv! With the consistent love and patience of their foster mama, they have blossomed into increasingly confident and social kitties. They LOVE LOVE LOVE sitting by the open window, feeling the breeze on their whiskers. Rod loves to chirp and chatter. Goldie enjoys stealing Q-tips from her foster mama's stash; she plucks one out, throws it around and comes back to pluck more. Goldie also enjoys batting a ball back and forth with her foster mama on her favorite ball tower toy. Goldie and Rod both go cuckoo for the squeeze treats and that has been one of the best ways to engage and build trust and adoration with them. They are searching for their FUREVER happy ending together and will be a great pair for a hooman that can provide devotion and patience for a couple of kitties that got a challenging start. Please apply to meet them today! Adoption fee: $250 for the pair. ##1167459##

Story
Meet Harper Lee: A Loyal Companion with a Heart of Gold Harper Lee is a stunningly beautiful grey and white fluffy cat with a personality as complex as her namesake’s characters. While she might come off a bit feisty with strangers at first, don’t let her tough exterior fool you—underneath lies a deeply affectionate and loyal soul just waiting to connect with the right person. This gorgeous girl came to us from a kind individual in Harper Woods who had been feeding her in their neighborhood. They managed to bring her to safety, but upon arrival, Harper Lee made it clear that she wasn’t ready for human affection just yet. At first, we weren’t sure if she’d warm up, but with time, patience, and lots of love, she revealed her true self—a total sweetheart who loves nothing more than snuggling with her favorite people. Once Harper Lee decides you’re part of her circle, she’ll claim your lap as her own and keep you cozy for hours. Her loyalty is unmatched, and her affection is worth every bit of patience it might take to earn her trust. She loves her caregivers at the shelter but prefers to be the queen of her castle, so a home without other cats would suit her best. If you’re looking for a cat with beauty, charm, and a deep bond that only grows stronger over time, Harper Lee is your girl. She’s ready to find a loving home where she can truly shine. Are you the one to give Harper Lee the forever home she deserves? Come meet her today and let her win your heart! ##2089160##
