Story
Hello my name is Rory! I am a 6 month old puppy! I currently weigh 26lbs! My foster family sent off my DNA to Embark to get a better guess at the question of what am I?! As it turns out, I am mostly a German Shepherd! That must be why I am so smart. I am very treat motivated to learn new things! I know things like “sit” and I am working diligently on “heel.” I spend most of my day playing with my favorite toys or my foster brother, Louie! If you have a dog in your home already that I could play with that would be wonderful! Once I’ve got my puppy energy out I am happy to curl up on the couch for a good snuggle session. I love meeting new people but when my foster mom takes me out at night I am on high alert! I am getting better each day at asking to go potty, soon I will be fully potty trained! I sleep in my crate at night without a peep. I’m ready to find my forever family!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.October 13, 2024, 5:06 am

Story
My wife and I are looking to find a great home for Bella (1.8 yr old, female, 55lb, spayed, GSD Husky). We took her in due a recent death in the family. I wish we could keep her, but our current situation isn’t permitting. Ideally we are looking for someone with dog training experience / an active lifestyle or property. Bella has an incredibly sweet personality and grew up with another dog, cat, and 12 year old kid. but as any true Husky, isn’t without her husky deviances from time to time (loves cardboard / mild escape artist). Incredibly friendly to other dogs and people. She got the name Bella as she flops over for belly rubs when she gets excited. Very intelligent and food / toy motivated and has been a quick learner to our training in the time that we have had her. Sleeps in crate or on the bed, she’s fine with either. She was raised as an outdoor / slightly indoor dog and loves being in the backyard. If you have a dog door she will likely be out there more than inside.

Story
Hello friends! I am Mick Fleetwoof, we don't fully know what my breed or age is, or what my past was like, but what we do know is that I am a good boy with a lot of love to give. We think I am a 2 1/2 year old pitbull german shepherd mix. I have been fostered by a young woman for two years now who unfortunately can no longer keep me. She loves me deeply, but I need someone who is better for me than she is. I have a lot of energy and it definitely comes out around people and other pets, but I do have a very chill snuggly side. Due to my unknown past, I do have some quirks. I get scared and a bit reactive over some things. like when someone approaches me aggressively w/ shoes in their hand, or when another dog stares at me too long, and I do have some resource guarding issues that I have been working hard on. I am great with cats, and again I cannot emphasize enough how much I love to cuddle. My perfect day would be lounging around the house/yard, adventuring with you and then a snuggle.

Get ready to fall head over heels for the irresistibly charming and playful M&M! This adorable boy is the heart and soul of every party, instantly making friends with everyone he meets, whether they have fur or not. From dogs to cats, M&M sees everyone as a new buddy. He absolutely loves splashing in water and dashing around the yard with his foster brothers, bringing joy and laughter wherever he goes. M&M is making remarkable progress with crate training and is almost an expert. He's fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, eagerly waiting for his forever family. You can see our posts because we have fosters all over the Pacific Northwest & East Coast. This is allowing us to post in areas 250 radius from our fosters locations. Why adopt from Texas because our city is in crisis and animals die by the Hundreds in our shelters never able to find a place to call home. We find homes for those that are in our care, and then able to help more in need. We offer transportation for this sweet boy to the Pacific Northwest and the East Coast, making it even easier for him to join your loving home. Story
Prepare to fall in love with Sunshine, the sweet and affectionate girl who gets along with everyone she meets. With her easy-going nature, Sunshine is a breeze to have around. She's housebroken, crate trained, and walks beautifully on a leash—truly a gem among our fosters! Sunshine's Journey: This brave mama was found in North Houston with her nine tiny pups. Despite facing harrowing stormy nights, she never strayed from their side, even moving them under pieces of collapsed fencing to keep them safe. Despite her past hardships, which included being kicked and pushed around, Sunshine's loving and gentle spirit remains unbroken. She has permanent damage to one eye, but can see out of it. According to our vet the eye does not need to be removed.  She adores other dogs and is eager to be part of their circle of trust. With Sunshine, you'll always know how much she cares. If you're a loving adopter searching for a loyal companion, look no further! Sunshine is fantastic with humans, incredibly gentle with kids, and completely non-reactive to cats. Don't miss out on this diamond in the rough—Sunshine is ready to bring joy and love into your home! To add Sunshine to your family, simply send us an email at springbranchrescue@gmail.com for adoption and fee information. She is wagging her tail and wiggling her butt at just the thought of finding her forever home and her story is just beginning. Her next chapter could be with you! Our adoption fee includes transport, all age required shots, microchip, & a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. We look forward to receiving your application! We will review it shortly and give you a call to set up a phone interview.  We are thrilled to offer transport services every 3 weeks from Houston to the Pacific Northwest and the East Coast, ensuring that these incredible pets can find their way to you no matter where you are. This makes the adoption process smooth and convenient, allowing you to focus on welcoming your new family member with open arms. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future away from a city that has an animal crisis. We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets. So often are these animals dumped, abandoned, or born on the streets and never find a home to call their own. We are giving them the chance that every animal deserves. We know that since you are looking to add a furry family member to your home here, you will provide the love, care, and attention they need to thrive. Thank you for considering adopting and not shopping. ##2139801##

Story
Name: Harris Age: 2 years Breed: German Shepherd Health Status: Heartworm positive (treatment provided) About Harris: Harris is a charming 2-year-old German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a gentle spirit that will capture your heart. He was found camping out at an abandoned hospital alongside his lady friend and 40 other dogs, showing incredible resilience despite the challenges he faced. Now, he’s ready to embark on a new adventure with a loving family. Though heartworm positive, Harris’ joyful personality shines through. His friendly demeanor makes him the perfect companion for families, individuals, or anyone looking to add a loyal friend to their life. Heartworms are alarmingly common in stray dogs in the Houston area, primarily due to the region’s warm and humid climate, which creates ideal conditions for mosquitoes—the primary carriers of the heartworm parasite. Heartworm treatment will be provided for him and his new family.  When you choose to adopt a heartworm positive dog, you're not just giving them a second chance at life—you're also embracing the opportunity to make a profound difference in their journey to recovery. Heartworm positive dogs are often overlooked, but they are just as loving, loyal, and deserving of a forever home as any other pup. By adopting one, you’ll experience the joy of watching them blossom into a healthy, happy companion. Your love and care can help them overcome this challenge, and in return, they will shower you with unconditional affection and gratitude for the rest of their lives.  Personality: Harris is the definition of easy-going. He’s incredibly friendly and gets along wonderfully with people and other pets alike. His gentle nature makes him great with kids, and he thrives on human companionship. His intelligence shines through in his training – he’s already crate-trained and walks beautifully on a leash. Whether you’re taking a stroll in the park or snuggling on the couch, Harris is up for the task! Why Harris Needs You: Harris is looking for a loving home where he can continue to thrive. He’s ready to bring joy, companionship, and a sense of peace to your household. With your support, he can overcome his heartworm status and live a long, healthy life by your side. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loyal friend who has already shown so much courage, Harris is waiting for you!  To add Harris to your family, simply send us an email at springbranchrescue@gmail.com for adoption and fee information.
