FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Max! Max is an 8½-year-old, 70 lb German Shepherd who is ready to find a loving home where he can enjoy all the good things life has to offer. This handsome older gentleman is sweet, smart, and easygoing, with plenty of love left to give. Max enjoys spending time with his people, going for walks, relaxing in the yard, and keeping an eye out for squirrels. He’s the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal dog who still enjoys getting out and exploring but is also happy to settle in and enjoy a peaceful day at home. He’s a smart boy who is eager to please—especially when treats are involved! Max already knows sit, shake, and down, and he would enjoy continuing to learn and bond with his new family. Max has done well with other dogs and could enjoy having a compatible canine companion in his forever home. More than anything, he’s looking for a calm, steady environment where he can settle in, feel loved, and enjoy his golden years surrounded by people who appreciate everything that makes German Shepherds so special. A Shepherd-loving home with a yard for Max to explore, relax, and chase the occasional squirrel would be a dream come true for this sweet boy. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion to share walks and quiet afternoons with ~ Max may be your perfect match! Max is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $300.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Duchess! This 6-year-old, 60 LB Shepherd/Lab mix came to us as a stray from an overcrowded CA shelter and is now ready to find her forever home! Duchess is a total sweetheart — spunky, goofy, and full of love. She adores belly rubs (she’ll happily flop over to ask for them!) and loves spending time with her people. She’s great with other dogs, smart, and very treat-motivated, which makes her a joy to train. She’s learning not to jump up when she gets excited — it’s just her way of showing how happy she is to see you! Her soft brown coat and warm, soulful eyes perfectly match her gentle, affectionate personality. She’s always up for a walk or an adventure but is just as content to hang out and relax with her humans afterward. Duchess truly has a heart of gold and will make a wonderful, loyal companion for one very lucky family. If you’re looking for a good girl — and we mean a certified good girl — Duchess is ready to win your heart! Duchess is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $400.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Adoptable Junnie! He is a ~4.5-5 year-old, Malinois mix who is looking for his forever home! He came to us around 9 months old, and has been waiting for a foster or forever home with us for 4 years. He would love to find his forever family ❤️ Junnie is a happy and sweet boy who loves to play and be active! He will require an active family that has experience with working breeds. He would make a great outdoors (hiking/camping/running etc) partner. He loves to play with toys and loves fetch! Junnie has been working on his dog socialization skills during his time with us and has made massive strides in what used to be overexcited puppy mouthiness, pretty typical for a young Malinois mix! He has done great with other dogs in our care on walks, and during meets, and group socializing. We do not know how he will be with another dog in the home, so meeting any existing pets in the home is a must. He would also do great as an only dog soaking up all the affection and continuing dog socialization outside of the home. He will require a home with a fenced yard for running and playing, no apartments. Junnie bonds deeply to his person/people, and can take a bit to gain trust with new people. We are looking for a home with no kids or cats. Junnie is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
This is Guts, he is a 2 1/2 year old mutt mix, born in December 2023. his top breeds are German shepherd and Siberian husky. He is neutered and vaccinated, his distemper and rabies vaccines are good until April of 2028. He is also mircochipped. He has had 5 weeks of board and train with a training company called Timeless K9 located in Tacoma, Wa. I was a veterinary assistant when I got him and he has had full bloodwork done/can provide all medical records. I’ve had him since he was 7 weeks old, and can provide his embark DNA testing as well. He is VERY energetic, and talkative dog and I would be looking for someone with experience, who would want to get outside with him. He does like other dogs, but would do best in a home with a dog who will correct him. He also loves my cats and I think he would be fine in a home with them. He is also a very sweet boy and enjoys a cuddle after a walk. He is very food motivated and very friendly, loves children as well.

Story
Animal Profile: Leo is an estimated 5-year-old male slight-structured Shepherd mix who was adopted as a young puppy after we accepted him from California where he was found as a stray in a Chino dumping zone along with his sibling Sansa and mom Catelyn. He joined us in Seattle on 10/10, along with Sansa and Catelyn. Leo was returned to the rescue after a couple of years due to a divorce in the family, lacking socialization and training. He was fostered with a trainer for several weeks and is now thriving and ready for a loving forever home.  Seattle Foster Update: Leo has progressed well in his time with us as a foster. When Leo arrived to us from training he was moderately reactive, but quickly blossomed to a friendly, tail wagging, bouncy boy. Leo is in a word eccentric. He is a cuddle bug and a hermit and assumes the oddest positions imaginable to get close to his owners. He is crate trained perfectly and enjoys the safe environment the crate provides for him. If you’re unwilling to give Leo a crate then you’re not the right home for him. He needs his escape and downtime to be the best boy. Leo warms up slowly to new people and dogs, and his new owners should be selective in dog introductions as he will react if confronted and doesn’t like in your face dog encounters. He plays well with male Collie and male Malinois and he has a firm truce with our selective female Bulldog. He lives with our cats and is completely disinterested in them. So, cat friendly. Leo will never be a dog park dog. So no dog parks. We don’t have kids in the household so don’t have awareness there. He has no food aggression but he's still working on taking treats gently. Leo will be a great hiking buddy and walks beautifully on leash. He doesn’t have marked stranger danger but again the policy will likely be "please don’t pet my dog without proper introductions." Adopter Profile: Dog experience required Fenced yard required Other dog/dogs in the home a plus Cats okay Older kids okay Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org  August 20, 2026, 11:27 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Rico is a 6-year-old (DOB 10/1/2019), 80 lb neutered male German Shepherd with a very sad story looking for a brighter future. He seems older than his years, due to his history of neglect, but he is now safe in foster care and getting the TLC he will need to thrive. Rico has some chronic skin issues that are improving, but will need ongoing supportive care with quality food and supplements. He will also need a structured exercise regimen to promote muscle growth and weight loss. Rico is open to connection with a human -- you can see it in his eyes. He has no aggressive tendencies with humans or dogs but is just awkward with interaction. You can see he wants to do it! He is house trained (with regular access to potty breaks) and crate trained, and has quickly learned some basic obedience such as sit and heel in foster care. He does not have any reactivity on leash but does pull without a prong collar. He seems to have some prey drive for toys (which will be helpful for connection and his spirit!) and cars. We will test him with cats and share that info. More updates as we get to know him.  Animal History: Rico was purchased from Tannerhaus GSD, a "reputable breeder" (we DO NOT recommend) that advertises they take their dogs back, but when Rico's senior owner had to move to assisted living, the breeder did not uphold the contract. Rico's family discovered that Rico had not been let outside regularly in years, was forced to potty in the house, and did not have regular access to water; he was more of a well-fed houseplant with limited mental or physical stimulation, or even touch. His owner's family could not find placement for him and moved him to a kennel where he stayed for months and developed skin issues, including a systemic fungal infection. When they could no longer afford to kennel him, they reached out and we could not refuse to help him. Rico found emergency placement with The Good Dog Way in Bellingham (6/9/2025) and began his journey to recovery. He is now in foster care in Bothell and making great progress. He is available for adoption to the greater Seattle area, though we are continuing to work on his physical and mental condition. We will update his profile as he progresses.  Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $575 which includes his neuter, core vaccinations,  DPPV, Bordetella, microchip, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application  August 20, 2026, 11:27 pm

Story
Animal Information: Zoey is a 6 year old, 60 pound German Shepherd mix in need of a new home. She was adopted from Kitsap Humane Society three years ago and has been waiting over a year to be rehomed. Her current owner is moving due to health reasons, and Zoey is now confined to a crate most of the day with only brief breaks. She has lived with a cat, but her limited time outside the crate makes it unclear how well she is fully integrated. Zoey is house trained, crate trained, and has basic obedience skills. She is dog friendly. She is social with people and seeks out attention. Zoey would do best with an adopter who has experience with large breeds or shepherd type dogs. Foster Profile:  This girl is so incredibly sweet! All owner surrenders break my heart a bit, but she’s just been such a delight already to have with us, and will make such a great companion for a lucky person or family. She’s got that sugar face already at 5 years old, but it's so clear she’s still got young dog energy. She likes to play fetch and run around, but has a chill mode too. She’s not underfoot, but she likes to know where you are and be near. Her personality reminds me a little of a classic lab meets GSD, a little goofy, sweet, and energetic, but also very smart, clever, and quick. She seems to love water as she has plopped herself in our very small, decorative pond quite a few times already! Zoey is crate and potty trained, and already knows sit, laydown, and kennel up. We’re working on leash training as she is a strong girl who can really pull, but she is responding well to a training collar. We think she would be fine as an only dog, as she really loves her people. However, given how she has been following around our resident dog, Theo, and booping him on the butt to get him to play, we think she would also be so happy to have a pal who wants to play with her! She recently spent the weekend with our 8 and 11 year old neice and nephew and was a huge fan! Though not excessively vocal, typical for her breed, Zoey does have a fairly loud protective bark. We think she will do best with a bit of space and ideally a fenced yard. We are not considering apartments for Zoey at this time. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was surrendered to our rescue when her owner had a chance of living arrangement. She is arriving to foster care as soon as we secure a foster home and will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.August 20, 2026, 11:27 pm

Story
Animal Information: Baby aka Baylee aka Baby B is a beautiful young adult female German Shepherd who was found as a stray and since completed her stray hold and is available for adoption. She was initially estimated at appx 4 years old and underweight but as she has settled in and gotten healthy we believe she's likely younger (appx 2 years and 55-60 lbs). Since being fostered with a dog trainer, Baby has learned a lot! She has a strong foundation of basic obedience - sit, stay, and loose leash walking. She also loves to play (fetch, tug, etc.) and this is a really great way for her to get comfortable with new people. While she wants to play with other dogs and currently lives with several, she will need structured introductions to new pack members as well as an owner committed to ongoing training and exposure training. This super gorgeous and fun girl is ready to be a best friend with a little patience and guidance. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Baby was found as a stray with no collar/tag/chip in Federal Way area on Oct 15, 2025. She was posted as a found stray with the appropriate jurisdiction and posted online but no one was looking for her. She didn't seem to know much in the way of training or have much socialization but luckily she was taken in by a good samaritan who happened to be a dog trainer. She's spent a few months learning the ropes of the good dog life and is now ready for adoption in the greater Seattle area. August 20, 2026, 11:27 pm

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED! ❤️ Casey is a 1.5-2 year old, 65-70lb Malinois, who came to us as a stray from California. He is a happy, friendly, and active boy, and will make a great dog for the right home! Casey is your typical Malinois, and is an active boy who will need a home that will keep him exercised and mentally stimulated. He loves walks, playing and the outdoors. He would make a great adventure buddy! He is attentive to his handler, and a great learner. He also does well on car rides! Casey has been friendly with all people we have seen him with, and is social. We are still testing him with other dogs and he can do well around some, and reactive/overstimulated with others. This is not uncommon for working breeds in a kennel environment. He would thrive in a home that can work with him on continued training and socialization. He is not tested with kids or cats. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED (currently in foster care) Meet Juno! Juno is a 6-year-old, 65lb Shepherd mix with a stunning brindle coat, soulful eyes, and the biggest heart. Rescued from an overcrowded California shelter, Juno spent four years in our kennels before moving into foster care, where he's thriving. He loves playing with his canine foster sister and riding in the car with his head out the window. Juno settles quickly in a kennel and is actively working on his house training and obedience skills. Juno is deeply devoted to his people and happiest by their side, whether on a hike, a walk, or a trip around town. He's smart, eager to please, and thrives with structure and routine. Because of his size, strength, and enthusiasm, Juno would do best in an adult-only home with a securely fenced yard. He enjoys other dogs with proper introductions, particularly larger female dogs, but could also be happy as an only dog. No cats, please. Juno is the kind of dog who gives his whole heart to you. In return, you'll gain a loyal companion, adventure partner, and best friend. Juno is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $400.
