Story
I got Deum as a puppy and he is roughly 5 years old and is a purebred German, he lived with my father and I on a farm. Due to my father being abusive to the dog and I, I moved to away to the city closer to my work and initially a difficult time finding a house that would accept him within my budget. I have to move again but since the cost of living has gone up so much I can only afford a small apartment, which even if I could keep him, would be very unfair to him. Deum is very high energy and loves to play with other dogs, he does okay with larger cats but he does not take very well to small cats. He loves to play with fetch but isn't too great at returning the ball, he is very loving and will want to spend as much time with you as you are able to give! He is good about never going to the bathroom inside his home, he is kennel trained and is a good watch dog always scanning the environment. He could use some more training about being pushy, and he will try to take the lead on walks.

Story
Samoa, a 1 1/2 yr old GSD & Boxer mix, is very loving and playful but is also sometimes rather anxious. She needs more exercise than she is getting and more advanced training, she has good recall off leash. She does walk on a leash but tends to pull. Samoa is housetrained, does fine with children and new people except for the fact that she will bark when introduced until she's comfortable. Her owner is a young woman in the military who expects to deployed soon and hopes to find her a new home before she has to leave. Her parents are currently fostering her but cannot continue to do so. Samoa's owner loves her and would love to take her back when she returns to country but knows that whoever is the best fit and will love her and will want to keep her so that's probably not an option. She is up to date on vaccines but does need to be spayed and that will be included in her adoption donation of $300. If you are interested in meeting the beauty please fill out an adoption donation on our website, sccpets.com and we'll connect you with the family so you can meet her.September 23, 2023, 5:36 pm

Story
This handsome boy has a rough past. If he could talk he would be sure to tell you his sad story of what his previous life entailed, however he prefers to look forward and not worry too much about the past. He is very cautious with new things and he has every right to be that way. He tends to find new men to be scary, and most new situations are scary. He loves to get treats and hugs. This guy is going to need a lot of reassurance from his new family. They will need to work on building his skills outside of the home. All he really knows is being locked in a crate. He does not seem to mind dogs that are smaller than him, however dogs that are larger than him are not an option for him. He walks very well on a leash, and enjoys spending time in his pool. He loves to do tricks for food. He would make a great companion if you are looking for a dog that just wants to hang out and let him be the guy that he is. If you are interested in meeting him, we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an application. Once you have an approved application no file we will then schedule a time for you to come and meet him. His adoption fee will be $300 that includes him being current on all his vaccinations, treated for fleas, treated for worms, and neutered. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgSeptember 21, 2023, 6:31 am

Story
Summer was rescued from a high kill shelter in California several months ago by a private rescue in central California. Unfortunately she has been sitting there with no one interested in her for many month, so we stepped in and have her come up here to the PNW to find her her forever home. She is one of the sweetest dog we’ve ever seen. She is calm, loyal and gets along with everyone even cats. This girl is 100% perfect . Please call us if you’re interested in adopting her. 💕💕💕💕💕💕
