Blue is a 3 year old gentle giant Great Pyrenees with a heart of gold and a smile that lights up a room. This boy was saved from an overcrowded Bakersfield shelter and is loyal to the core. He loves to be with people and kids 13 years and older and will lay his head on your lap for as long as you let him. Blue loves to play with other dogs. He is the sweetest soul with the softest white coat and ocean blue eyes and is ready to be a part of your family. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. The Lovejoy Foundation, Inc. does not adopt beyond a 30 mile radius from our headquarters in Inglewood. RODEO HAS GOTTEN ALONG WITH DOGS WE HAVE INTRODUCED HIM TO THAT ARE HIS OWN SIZE. PROPER INTRODUCTION WOULD BE NEEDED TO EVALUATE IF HE'S GOING TO GET ALONG WITH AN EXISTING DOG IN A HOME BUT BECAUSE OF HIS SIZE AND STRENGTH, WE BELIEVE HE WOULD BE A GOOD MATCH FOR A DOG HIS SIZE. APPLICANTS MUST LIVE IN THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES IN AN ADULT-ONLY HOME (NO APARTMENTS) WITH A PRIVATE YARD. RODEO is the definition of a Rhinestone Cowboy! Not only does he have stunning good looks, but his DNA results prove that he is quite a unique gem of Great Pyrenees/Aussie/Border Collie. Our rescue has been working with a certified professional dog trainer to help us get to know Rodeo and set him up for success. Rodeo is an incredible dog that would do best with an adopter that has experience with the large working breeds and structure in the home. He would not be a good dog for a first-time dog owner. Mostly comprised of Great Pyrenees, he has the potential to be protective of his family. He doesn’t know his own strength and size at times, so we have been working on him staying calm and focusing on his handler. Because of Rodeo’s grand stature, he would require a home with a yard (NOT AN APARTMENT) and no small children that he could inadvertently knock over or small pets. Rodeo estimated date of birth is January, 2019. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and whoever is lucky enough to adopt this rooty tooty cowboy will get an in-home dog training lesson as part of his adoption. CJ is another example of a perfect Great Pyrenees. This breed is exceptional and CJ will make a great family dog, adventure pal and companion like most. He was rescued from a high kill shelter in Kern County.He is being fostered with 3 other large dogs and is having the time of his life. CJ is a cuddle, a player and a perfect pup. He will benefit from basic training to help him with self esteem and communication since he is still a big puppy. He is 8 months old and weighs around 80 pounds. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Meet Ben, Gentle Ben! He is a big ol' loving, cuddly soft ball of fur that thinks he belongs on your lap. Such a kind easy boy. Ben is doing great with his potty habits, walks amazing on a leash and is a showstopper wherever he goes. He is between 2-3 years old. Fantastic buddy and family dog. Great for kids and adventures.
