Hi I'm Hera! A true beauty in and out! I am around 1 /1/2-2 years old. A bit underweight since leaving the shelter but I should be around 75 lbs. Lots of floof! I am good with other dogs (just no small dogs) -have mama dog energy-and I am crate trained and house broken. I am a VERY special lady. *please note All of our dogs are in private foster homes. Once you fill out an application it will be screened by our volunteer adoption team. From there, if your application looks like a good fit for the particular dog, it will be sent to the foster where you can ask all the questions you would like and schedule a meet and greet. OMG!!!How awesome is it that we were able to help 3 adorable amazing GP puppies. Born August 14th, they were left over pups and we decided to contact the guy and get them to safety. At 13 weeks, they are24 pounds. Of course they are the best choice for anyone looking for a dog friendly, kid friendly and cat friendly new family member. They are like Golden Retrievers, but better. Don't miss these babies! All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. Blankie was surrendered to us because his family was moving to an apartment and could not bring Blankie with them. Blankie grew up with a 4 year old and he has proved to be a somewhat gentle giant but still acts like a puppy at times. If he were to go to a family with kids they will be required to meet Blankie before we can approve and adoption. Furthermore, Blankie will need a home with access to a medium to large sized yard so he can stretch his very long legs (also 6` secure fencing is a must). Blankie grew up as the only animal in the household and we feel he will do best as the only animal moving forward as well. Blankie is extremely sweet and affectionate, he loves being pet and getting scritches once he has done a patrol of the play yard. He will need a minimum of 45 mins-1 hr of exercise everyday. He is a very strong boy and will need a strong owner as well as someone patient enough to put some work into training him. Blankie was kept as a backyard dog so he will need to be acclimated to being in a home with a family as well as will need to be potty trained.Blankie LOOOOOOOVES WATER and can frequently be found playing and sliding around in a kiddie pool in our play yard. He would prefer an adopter who is willing to provide this water time for him rather than someone who would try to break him and water up.

Astrid was originally found wandering stray here in Burbank. Astrid is a LARGE Armenian Gampr weighing in at 150 healthy pounds. She would not make a good first time dog because of her size, she needs someone with lots of large or extra large dog breed experience in order for her to thrive in her forever home. Guardian breeds are not recommended for apartment life. They are relatively inactive indoors however and will do best with at least a large yard to patrol. Fencing should be 6 feet tall at least so she cannot jump over her fence. Her future owner will have to continue working with her on socialization with other people to make sure she is an upstanding citizen for her size and breed. Though Astrid is 3 years old, she still acts like a puppy at times and doesn`t know how large she is. Astrid tends to get overstimulated and excited and will run around and jump in the air. Astrid loves to just hang out in our play yard by herself. She enjoys simple things like a dip in our kiddie pool and a fluffy squeaky toy. An ADULT ONLY HOME with XL breed experience is required. Astrid will need basic obedience, potty training and leash training as most shelter and rescue dogs do. Astrid has been introduced to other dogs, however she has shown she cannot be trusted around other animals. She has also been adopted out once before and then returned less than 24 hours later for not getting along with the other dogs in the household. Astrid is an awesome dog and a staff favorite here at the shelter however will need major commitment from her future owners.

Winona has been through a lot. We don't know all the details of her life but she was discovered in a local residents yard, where she had been hiding for several days. She's still fairly timid but she's a gentle girl and is starting to come out of her shell. Winona will need a quiet, adult home with yard access. She loves to lean into you and snuggle up. Even though, Winona is a big girl, she thinks she's a lap dog. She's athletic as well and once comfortable, she will love walks and hikes.
