Story
Blue is a 3 year old gentle giant Great Pyrenees with a heart of gold and a smile that lights up a room. This boy was saved from an overcrowded Bakersfield shelter and is loyal to the core. He loves to be with people and kids 13 years and older and will lay his head on your lap for as long as you let him. Blue loves to play with other dogs. He is the sweetest soul with the softest white coat and ocean blue eyes and is ready to be a part of your family. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. Please find our application at lovejoyfoundation.org when you come to an event please bring that filled out in hand with you. You can find our application at Lovejoyfoundation.org. Story
Meet Siwoel - An adorable two-year-old Great Pyrenees mix - looking for his furever family. Siwoel is a great dog looking for his very own humans to love. This three-year-old boy overcame so much in his life already being a heart-worm survivor, as well as escaping the treacherous conditions he was subjected to before we rescued him. Although he has been through so much, Siwoel still wags his tail in joy when he sees people. He is friendly with men, women and children. He also gets along great with other dogs of all sizes. Siwoel is not only an amazing companion, he is incredibly smart too. He is fully potty trained, leash trained, has zero food aggression and is not much of a barker. Siwoel is looking for a home with a big backyard that he can play in, or an owner who can take him for plenty of walks. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to Siwoel please reach out to learn more about the adoption process. Let’s give Siwoel the furever family he deserves. Story
I rescued Cloud a little over 3 months ago. She is approx 11 months and very active. She's a sweet girl that loves her human. She walks perfectly on a leash and does not display any separation anxiety when I leave her at home. She will try to eat your shoes and socks, so keep them out of reach. She gets along well with dogs. She is curious but tentative about people, and will go up and sniff them. She will even take a treat out of their hand, but the one issue she has is she will show her teeth or growl if someone tries to pet her head. I have been working with a trainer for 3 months, but he thinks she was beaten. Once she trusts, there are no issues at all. I also have been taking her on errands and she is fine in stores, Starbucks, etc. I just ask strangers to please not pet her. I'm rehoming her because I'm having health issues and will probably need surgery. Also, I live in a studio with a small paved yard and she just needs way more room. Please help me find her a good home!

Story
RODEO HAS GOTTEN ALONG WITH DOGS WE HAVE INTRODUCED HIM TO THAT ARE HIS OWN SIZE. PROPER INTRODUCTION WOULD BE NEEDED TO EVALUATE IF HE'S GOING TO GET ALONG WITH AN EXISTING DOG IN A HOME BUT BECAUSE OF HIS SIZE AND STRENGTH, WE BELIEVE HE WOULD BE A GOOD MATCH FOR A DOG HIS SIZE. APPLICANTS MUST LIVE IN THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES IN AN ADULT-ONLY HOME (NO APARTMENTS) WITH A PRIVATE YARD. RODEO is the definition of a Rhinestone Cowboy! Not only does he have stunning good looks, but his DNA results prove that he is quite a unique gem of Great Pyrenees/Aussie/Border Collie. Our rescue has been working with a certified professional dog trainer to help us get to know Rodeo and set him up for success. Rodeo is an incredible dog that would do best with an adopter that has experience with the large working breeds and structure in the home. He would not be a good dog for a first-time dog owner. Mostly comprised of Great Pyrenees, he has the potential to be protective of his family. He doesn’t know his own strength and size at times, so we have been working on him staying calm and focusing on his handler. Because of Rodeo’s grand stature, he would require a home with a yard (NOT AN APARTMENT) and no small children that he could inadvertently knock over or small pets. Rodeo estimated date of birth is January, 2019. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and whoever is lucky enough to adopt this rooty tooty cowboy will get an in-home dog training lesson as part of his adoption. Now that’s something to YEE-HAW about! --- If you are interested in adopting Rodeo please fill out our adoption application by clicking this LINK. Applications are required PRIOR to meeting one of our animals and are used to set up a safe and successful adoption. Please don't be shy and answer the questions thoroughly. To learn more about our entire process please visit www.therescuetrain.org and click on the "Adopt A Dog" page. PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT OWN A FACILITY. Our animals are in private foster homes.
