My name is Billy. I am a 2 year old neutered male Great Pyrenees Mix. I am a very loving and affectionate dog. I would love to go on long walks or hikes. Billy came with 6 other dogs named Dorian, Newton, Tucson, Desiree, Groot, and Sade from a fellow rescuer. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. The Lovejoy Foundation, Inc. does not adopt beyond a 30 mile radius from our headquarters in Inglewood. ICE is an 8 week old Male Great Pyranees Pup in need of a “Forever Home”. He is a gorgeous boy with a solid white fluffy coat. ICE has been socialized, is good with other dogs, cats and kids. He will be a 75-100lb dog when full grown. ICE will require a home with a yard to run and stretch his legs in. Please do your research on this amazing breed, they are loyal guardians to their home and family. They are often referred to as “Gentle Giants”. ICE will make a great addition to a loving family.

Charlotte just turned 10 years old. I rescued her 7 years ago from a shelter where she was being treated for heart worms and kept in a crate for hours on end. For this reason, she will not use a crate. She needs a home with a yard and humans who are home most of the day. I work 12 hr shifts and she has lost all ability to be home alone during that period. She can dig out of the patio and climb over the gate. She even opened the slider. I used a dog walker but she refused to go back inside unless wearing a spike collar, bc she can back out of a harness. She got kicked out of doggy daycare because she hurt herself trying to escape. When I’m home, she’s well behaved and sweet. She likes to play, go on walks, and get pet. She is best with kids under supervision who understand boundaries and don’t try to push past her or mess with her face. She likes calm dogs but no cats. I am heartbroken to have to rehome her but I can’t create a better situation for her and it’s not fair to keep her.

Her name says everything! We were contacted about this staff favourite that was on the kill list at a remote shelter in kern County. Anytime a Great Pyrenees is presented to us for rescue, we run towards getting the pup to safety. These are the greatest dogs. Sweet Pea is beyond sweet. What a fantastic family dog she is. She is so friendly and easy. Sweet Pea is a bomb proof dog. She came to us, filthy, matted and stinky. She is now groomed and feeling better than ever. Great beginning to er new life. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. I adopted Rosie from the Lancaster, CA animal shelter almost a year ago. She was a stray, wandering nearby, according to the shelter. Rosie is a beautiful, two-and-a-half-year-old Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd mix. She is fully grown at 80 pounds. She’s very sweet and affectionate with people and loves to play with other dogs. She’s smart and playful and is very good at following commands. Rosie also passed a behavorial assessment at a membership dog park. Unfortunately, my career is very demanding and I am unable to give Rosie the attention she deserves. Rosie very much wants to be your best friend and protector and would do best with someone who wants a dog that’s both!

APPLICANTS MUST LIVE IN THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES IN AN ADULT-ONLY HOME (NO APARTMENTS) WITH A PRIVATE YARD. RODEO is the definition of a Rhinestone Cowboy! Not only does he have stunning good looks, but his DNA results prove that he is quite a unique gem of Great Pyrenees/Aussie/Border Collie. Our rescue has been working with a certified professional dog trainer to help us get to know Rodeo and set him up for success. Rodeo is an incredible dog that would do best with an adopter that has experience with the large working breeds and structure in the home. He would not be a good dog for a first-time dog owner. Mostly comprised of Great Pyrenees, he has the potential to be protective of his family. He doesn’t know his own strength and size at times, so we have been working on him staying calm and focusing on his handler. Because of Rodeo’s grand stature, he would require a home with a yard (NOT AN APARTMENT) and no small children that he could inadvertently knock over or small pets. Rodeo estimated date of birth is January, 2019. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and whoever is lucky enough to adopt this rooty tooty cowboy will get an in-home dog training lesson as part of his adoption.
