Introducing Kit: part Great Pyrenees, part Doberman, and 100% professional weirdo. She’s about two years old, has legs for days, and a nose that works overtime like a tiny detective on an endless case. Kit has gone from “stranger danger” mode to “sniff your hair while you’re watching Netflix” mode, and that’s what we call progress. Her daily routine is very official: three laps around her kennel like an Olympic track star before dinner, followed by stealing the couch or your bed because, honestly, she’s royalty and crates are for peasants. She’s learning that humans = belly rub dispensers, and she’s totally here for it. Kit is a huge fan of dogs, though she sometimes comes in a little too hot on first introductions (think: bossy camp counselor vibes). Once she knows who’s in charge, she’s good to go, and she’s the best babysitter for puppies. What she is not into? Cats, chickens, birds, squirrels, or basically anything small and fluffy that isn’t her designated sibling. For those, her prey drive kicks in and—let’s just say—it’s a hard no. She’s obsessed with running, but luckily, she’s not a fence-jumper. A nice sturdy yard is her dream stage for zoomies. When she’s not sprinting, she’s all about long walks, soft toys, and claiming furniture like it’s her birthright. She’ll even listen to “leave it” when she’s yelling at the neighbors, which is basically the dog version of good manners. Kit is still a little shy at first, but once she warms up, you’ll find a goofy, loyal, slightly dramatic best friend who makes the small victories (like coming when called) feel like winning the lottery. Lucas is a 1.5-year-old Great Pyrenees mix who made the long journey from Arkansas to Minnesota in hopes of finding the forever family he deserves. He was originally brought to a vet clinic in Arkansas as a stray, and thanks to a partner rescue that works closely with No Dog Left Behind, he was given a second chance. Now he’s living in a loving foster home with kids and other dogs, settling into home life beautifully. At about 50 pounds, Lucas is the perfect mid-sized companion, and his personality is even more impressive than his looks. He absolutely adores people—especially kids—and loves being part of the family’s everyday activities. Despite being young, he has a gentle, calming presence and is a joy to have around. His foster family describes him as sweet, affectionate, and wonderfully easygoing. Lucas gets along great with other dogs and enjoys having canine buddies to play with or relax beside. He’s shown interest in cats but hasn’t had a formal introduction yet, so with slow and proper acclimation he may do well with them. He is crate trained, knows how to sit, and is eager to learn anything else you’re willing to teach him. For a Pyrenees mix, he’s also quite quiet—his barking is minimal, making him an even better fit for many households. He's doing great with potty training, leash walking and riding in the car as well. He will do well in a fenced property or farm. He is leash trained, muzzle trained, and crate trained, however, the door often remains open. He’s a quick learner. He’s a little over 4 years old and shy of 100 pounds. He knows no, wait, down, paw, gentle, bed, belly, “get it” to eat, and sit with many more things he’s still perfecting. Dwight does get long with other dogs but would perfer to be the only dog in his adoptive home. He loves the butt scratches but when he is sleeping her prefers to be left alone. He can sometimes be a little protective of his chew bones or food. He doesn’t play fetch but he loves chasing a laser like a cat. He prefers humans to chase him as a way of playing. He came from a home with two adults and should not go to a home with children. He’s used to a more quiet space and doesn’t do very well with loud noises. He did a great job outside watching his previous owner in his work shop. He does a great job being an outside guard dog, that’s definitely the Great Pyrenees in him. He loves to work and play. My name is Poppy and I am a Great Pyrenees/Husky mix with a tiny bit of Australia Shepherd in there too. When I came into rescue, I tested positive for heartworm! After several months of treatment and waiting, I am all healthy and ready to find my forever home. I currently live with 2 dogs and 2 cats. I LOVE playing with my doggie siblings and would do best in a home with another dog to play with and continue teaching me how to be an inside puppy. I also like my feline siblings and like to chase them when they run away. I would also be okay living in a home with a confident or dog savvy cat. I am potty and crate trained. I am most comfortable when I can see my foster siblings when I’m in my crate. It helps me feel not so alone. I sleep in bed with my foster mom and dad, or on my dog bed on the floor. I’m not super cuddly and won’t try to climb in your lap or jump on you, but I will come up for pets or lay next to you on the couch. My favorite toys are Nylabones or Benebones! I could chew on them ALL DAY LONG. They are the best. I also love squeaky toys and could maybe figure out fetch with some guidance. I love to be outside and I have loved all of this snow! I do okay on a leash, but I would prefer a nice fenced in yard to run around in. After all, I am mostly Great Pyramees and love having a yard to patrol and wander in. My foster mom says I am the sweetest and easiest girl to take care of. She also says I am so funny and silly too. Adoption fee: $525

Adoption Fee: $760 + tax Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own! A Note from the Foster: Chapo may be 80lbs, but he’s actually a big baby lap dog. He loves every friend he meets and in fact gets upset if someone doesn’t come to pet him. He is quite playful and loves to play with his toys and other dogs. His favorite toys are the noisiest ones! Hanging his head out the car window is one of his favorite pastimes, aside from cuddling and attention of course. Structure and rules are new to him and he has a lot to learn, but he does so willingly with the help of deli turkey. Chapo requires (though he deserves it) lots of love and attention. His family should be one willing to spend lots of time with him! Chapo has a strong prey drive, so no small pets or cats in the home. He is committed to keeping your yard free of any squirrels, rabbits or neighborhood cats! He will need someone confident and firm as he is a typical stubborn Pyrenees. He doesn’t live with children, but has seen them and has acted positively towards them. Due to his young spirit, playful energy and large size, he would do best in a home with a larger dog. He does have a tendency to howl when left alone, so no shared walls will be ideal.
