My name is Harley and it comes from the Old English origin meaning 'Hare Meadow', which represents a peaceful and serene image. Just nothing like seeing a Pyr laying in the yard watching! Unfortunately my elderly owner is not able to care for me any longer but I'm trying not to let it get me down as I look for another family to adopt. Did you know that I came from royalty? The Pyrenees breed came from France where we made our way up from being a peasant farmers dog to the royal court being named the royal dog of France in 1675. Even Queen Victoria had a Pyr. We are strong willed and can sometimes be stubborn but more importantly we are affectionate, patient, confident, fearless and gentle. It is said that we wouldn't make a good breed for first timers but if you're aware of the negative traits (sometimes stubborn & lots of hair) along with the awesome good traits, we could definitely make it work. As a youngster at only around a year and a half old, I do have some basic obedience training, am well mannered, I don't jump up unless invited and have a sweet, loving warm nature that just adores getting 'good boys' from my people. I am a big boy of snowy white fluff. I will need several weekly brushings to keep my royal self tangle free and looking dapper and the vacuum will be an extension of your arm with me around but the reward of my adoring love for you will sooooo be worth it!! A couple of daily 45 minute walks a day should be enough to keep me happy. With that daily exercise in I can do quite well in town with a yard or in the country. I fall into the 3 G category which is Gorgeous, Gentle and Giant. Instinctively nurturing with the flock or family, we do make great family members. Just make sure the couch is big enough for sharing!!! My breed tend to love being with the family and are content to lay at or on your feet or curled up with you on that big enough couch. The name Oso from the Spanish origin meaning 'bear' fits me just right, not too hard but not too soft. Oops wrong story. I more resemble a big ole polar bear. Big, white and fluffy, so maybe a little soft. :) I miss having a family so I'm hoping my new family will be right around the corner. You see, I was abandoned at a apartment complex. Luckily I was found and brought into this rescue where I'll have my best chance of having that loving fur-ever (the furever part is very important to me) family where I'll be safe and loved (also very important to me). I'm such a good boy that is very affectionate and sweet. I'm good with all people, tall or small, good with the other foster pups here and I'm already house trained. Wow, if you ask me and not to toot my own horn or anything but a special person(s) gonna be getting a real great catch!! I am a pretty big boy coming in around 90lbs but the good news is...at around a year old I am at my adult size! I may be a big boy but that just means there is more of me to love on you! I'm a gentle giant that loves to be loved on and there is nothing better then getting belly rubs and ear scratches! At only around a year old I am still playful and will need some daily walks or exercise but with that in should do fine in town with a yard, out in the country or anywhere in between. With my hairytage my coat will need brushing a few times a week and maybe even a professional grooming once in a while to keep me looking my handsomest self! I will also leave hair on the floor and on the couch (or my doggie bed) and you'll use your vacuum a lot! But my loving nature and soulful expressive eyes will make it all so worth it!!! I came from the pound with HORRIFIC injuries related to a multiple dog attack :( And boy I was in pain and had horrible infections and was so so skinny and just sad... But the rescue peeps fixed me up! It took several weeks of LOVE, good nutrition, wound care and "heart repair" to return my zest for life and to see the glimmer of hope in my eyes... Cloud is 2.5 yo and full of playfulness, energy, and a sense of humor. He loves the snow, lots of attention, walks, and playing with other dogs. He has never met a person he doesn't love. He (ostensibly) knows basic commands and is crate trained. We are heartbroken to have to rehome him. Cloud would do best with an owner or family with either lots of dog experience or the time and resources for more extensive behavioral training. He is amazing meeting strangers and children on a leash, but we have 2 smaller children at home and are pregnant again and he tends to play with our children like they are puppies (lots of mouthing and bumping them over) despite lots of training. We think he would do better in a home with older or no children where an owner can maintain a calmer environment. Cloud also hates having his nails cut and basic grooming (other than being brushed), and our vet has recommended working with a vet behavioralist to address these issues.

Say hello to Angel. This beautiful girl is looking for a home to call her own. Angel is a total lover! She makes the perfect cuddle buddy with her soft fluffy fur. She enjoys snuggling after a day of activity. Angel loves to chase & wrestle with her foster sister. She’d love a friend to keep her busy in her new home although it’s not required! Angel came to Minnesota with a leg injury that required several surgeries to repair. She’s doing great after a some rest and physical therapy but will require daily walks and stretching to keep her leg strong. Angle is fully potty trained but prefers to go to the bathroom in a fenced in space. She spends the night on a dog bed in her foster parents room and stays in her kennel while she’s home alone. If this sweet girl sounds like the perfect fit, she’d love to meet you! Angel is estimated to be one year old and 55 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. Welcome Athena to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2-year Great Pyrenees. She weighs about 90 pounds. She has a beautiful coat and the typical extra back toes commonly found in this breed. This is a guardian breed dog. They naturally will protect their flock or family. This breed will do best in a fully fenced yard as they will roam away if there is no fence. She is good with other dogs and will need some more leash work. She would be great with someone that knows the breed and loves it. She should have the natural tendencies of this breed. Logan is a good boy! He likes to chew bones, wrestle with our resident dog, take naps and he loves to bark! He's definitely in his teen years and can be a bit sassy, at times. Hi! I'm Hoss! I'm from Arkansas. From his foster: Handsome Hoss is as sweet and majestic as can be! He is the true definition of a gentle giant: large (and in charge), but gentle, friendly, and has a heart of gold. He loves everyone he meets. He enjoys pets and belly rubs, and gets along very well with other dogs. He is kind and considerate of my 6lb resident cat and is incredibly patient towards children. When he wants attention, he will give you the Pyr Paw. He does not exhibit the typical barking behavior associated with the Great Pyrenees breed. For his size, Hoss does well on a leash and is easily able to be redirected. He is fond of his daily walks (normally 2.5-5 miles), but also appreciates being a couch potato and lounging around with his favorite humans. When at home, he likes to make his "rounds around each room and check up on his people. He prefers to play with plush or chew toys. Although Hoss already knows a handful of tricks, he can be quite stubborn. He has, what we like to call, selective listening, and does not have the best recall. Hoss is rarely alone, as I work from home, but he can be trusted to be alone for up to 4 hours free-range. He loves spending time with his people, so he can be a little destructive if left alone for longer periods of time. He whines and cries for a couple minutes after we leave him in his crate, but otherwise stays quiet and calm for up to 8 hours. He is potty-trained and has not had any accidents in the house. Hoss is an absolute delight to foster. He is very mellow and easy-going. He would make a wonderful family dog or companion. Big boy I think is my name but they also call me  Oliver (even though my legal rescue name is Arlington). My legs are growing so fast I’m the tallest in my littler. My foster mom says I look and feel just like a golden retriever. I like to walk around with toys in my mouth.  I’m polite but if there’s treats I will be first in line to sit right up front nice and proud patiently waiting. I like to quietly lay in the yard just watching all the action. My foster mom talks to me all the time and I stare into her eyes. She likes that and I usually get a treat and a kiss. I'm sensitive and kind and I love kids of all ages. What I love the most is sleeping outside in the shade with a cool breeze. I'm house trained and I sleep through the night.
