Story

Autumn is a beautiful 3.5-year-old, petite Great Pyrenees mix (66lbs). She thrives outdoors and has strong livestock-guardian instincts. She is excellent with chickens, happily watching over our free-range flock. Autumn grew up with our two boys and is a good watchdog, but as she’s matured she’s become more cautious with strangers and less tolerant of young children, especially around handling. Our busy household, frequent visitors, and travel have become stressful for her. She struggles being left alone indoors and cannot be crated, though she is house-trained otherwise. She is happiest outside, but city living and nighttime barking make this challenging. She is hit-or-miss with other dogs, preferring calm, friendly dogs one-on-one. Autumn is medium-low energy. She responds best to positive reinforcement. She would thrive in a rural area with adults experienced with guardian or anxious dogs, no small children, and space to safely be outdoors. History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own! A Note from the Foster: Goliath is the definition of a gentle giant. He catches the attention of all who sees him with his gorgeous white lion locks and him being so tall. He is a big calm and low energy boy! He is settling into rescue where he currently co-exists with dogs of all sizes, cats, and kids and has had zero issue. He has not had any accidents, sleeps quietly and soundly in his kennel, and rides in the car well. He is a beautiful dog with a heart of gold who will thrive with a family comfortable and confident around a dog of his size. He is available as a foster to adopt as he will receive a dental in rescue (he is already neutered) as well as continue to monitor typical age-wear on his joint and hips. He overall is not showing much pain symptoms but occasionally especially when in his crate laying down overnight and he may get up sore (our vet team is working on his joint management as well in his older age). Goliath is an A+++ boy who hopes meet you soon!

I like to take my time, figure things out, and then do them well. Once I feel safe, I’m happiest just being near my people. I love affection. Pets are my favorite, brushing is even better, and I’m very good at standing still while you admire how cute and fluffy I am. I love toys but I don’t need constant entertainment. I’m perfectly content hanging out nearby, keeping you company, taking naps, and soaking up the calm. I’m proud to say I recently conquered my fear of the stairs (turns out they weren’t so scary after all). With patience and encouragement, I really shine - that’s kind of my thing. I thrive with kind guidance, steady routines, and people who understand that confidence grows with time. I walk nicely on leash, I do well sleeping in my crate, but if given the choice, I prefer curling up on the floor in the bedroom close to my people. I’m proud to say that with regular trips outside, I’ve been accident-free in my foster home! I’m also gentle and well-mannered when meeting new people and I take the world in with quiet curiosity. History: We received a plea to help a litter of what was 6 Great Pyrenees mix puppies from a rural area in Northern MN. Upon arrival, there were 10 puppies and we opened our doors even wider to welcome them all into rescue. They are sweet, friendly, and loving puppies who are each hoping to find forever homes of their own soon!
