Story
Hazel is a very sweet 5-year-old Great Pyrenees/Aussie mix that came to us as a stray. She is a fish-out-of-water in the city and really needs a rural home with room to roam. She would love to spend most of her day outside and be somewhere that she can do her job of protecting her property and family. Her Pyrenees instincts are strong. If you are looking for a dog that will alert you when someone arrives on your property, she is a pro at that. She loves car rides and snow. She like to run around and then enjoy a lazy day. She has had agility and nose work training. Hazel is dog selective on leash, so we avoid dogs we don’t know. She is fine with our neighbor dogs off-leash, but does not like dogs in her her home or yard and would need to be your only pet. She has lived with teens but has never lived with young kids.

Story
Mira is a sweet 4.5 year old 50lb Great Pyrenees/Poodle mix. We got her when she was 16 weeks from a farm in central Minnesota. She is loyal and low-key. When she gets to know you and becomes comfortable, her shyness turns into adoration. She is well-trained on basic commands, and while sometimes keeps a bubble, loves to be loved. Mira has always struggled with anxiety. She is not particularly food motivated, so training has taken time, but we have been working hard on separation anxiety and resource-guarding. She has never bitten anyone or any dog, but has shown aggression around dropped food scraps, dog toys, and times she's been startled. We are sad to need to re-home her, but due to our employment and family situations changing, we no longer have the time she deserves. She would not do well in a home with dogs or children. Her best life is lived with space to roam, squirrels to tree, a home to protect, and people she trusts around for her to come back to.

Story
Name: Oslo Breeds: Great Pyrenees/ Lab Mix Age: Young Adult Sex: Male Size: Extra Large Oslo is a BIG boy with a heart as big as his body. This guy loves love and has never met a stranger in his life. He is great with other dogs and LOVES to play. He would love another active dog in his home though it is not required since he equally adores people. He is even good with the kitties. Oslo is good with kids but with his size does knock the little ones down so better with older kids who are more sturdy. He thinks he is a lap dog and is excellent at snuggles. Looking to save some money this winter with being able to turn your heat down? Oslo has got you covered with cuddles! He is housetrained, crates well, and minds his manners in the house. He will bark when he hears/sees something outside so best in a home without shared walls. He is an excellent watchdog and will tell you when someone comes to the door but guard dog he is not and will instantly greet them with a wagging tail ready to be their new friend. Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $500 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives. Story
Chef loves to snuggle and will lean his whole body against you. He also enjoys having space to lay in his bed or crate, where he will grumble and mumble as he settles in. Chef loves to watch and chase birds and squirrels. He loves to play with dogs at the dogpark and daycare. Chef is very trainable and he knows basic obedience commands. Chef would love a yard where he can play or just observe his surroundings. Chef can get nervous about guests at first and he will bark to let you know someone is at the door. We adopted Chef from the Humane Society just over a year ago. After a recent move, we discovered that the new situation is not a good fit for Chef. Our apartment doesn't have enough space, and a new roommate has meant more people coming into the small space, which has made Chef anxious and exacerbated behavioral issues. Chef is such a sweet dog, and he'd do well in a home with a little more stability so that he can become your wonderful companion.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Selene found herself unwanted at a high kill shelter in West Texas. She is good with kids. She is not good with cats or other dogs due yo resource guarding.   All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Selene is a Great Pyrenees mix that arrived from Texas on July 8th. We don't know what mix she is, but she has a lot of Great Pyrenees features, including the double dew claws, but in a smaller size! She has been through a lot of change and needed some extra time to acclimate to home life. She was originally in a different home that quickly realized she wasn't the right fit for them. She is currently being fostered by a Matty's family with two Great Pyrenees resident dogs and two smaller breed fosters and has settled in! Selene was very underweight and at first tried to hoard her food. Now she knows food is readily available and has got her routine down! She still needs some coaxing to finish her bowl so her foster mom sneaks whipped cream in her bowl. She can get agitated leading to meal time and so you should be cautious with food around that time (and with any dog in general). Once her belly is full, she bounces out of the room with her tail up and she's ready to play!  Selene shows good play manners and paws at friends to try to get them going. She is learning how fun toys can be and happily grabs an approved chew item and works on it.   Selene loves to curl up on the couch or push a blanket around to make her spot exactly right. Selene isn't a huge fan of her crate, but enters willingly with high value treats as a reward. She is house trained but still working on keeping her kennel dry when left for long periods.  Selene is really a people lover. We took her to her first foster event on 7/22 and she greeted people of all ages happily for 6 hours...then tried to greet everyone who walked by us on the way out!  At home, she watches her humans and happily settles down next them or where she can keep keep a good eye on them. She loves to greet you at the door and comes in for a good side hug. She arrived to MN during shedding season and has LOVED being brushed.  She would be best as an only dog in a home as she can be selective with dogs and likes to have her people. toys and food to herself. Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 28, 2023, 8:06 pm

Meet Cosmo! He absolutely LOOOOOVES ATTENTION! He wants all the rubs and loves you got on ya and hope there’s more where that came from! He gets along well with other dogs and will sometimes play, but he's mostly chill and just likes to hang out. He would make an amazing addition to your family! He's a 2 year old Great Pyrenees and he's on the smaller side for his breed at about 65 pounds. He'd love to find a laid back forever home!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as ''Out of Town'' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.September 29, 2023, 4:08 pm
