Story
Welcome Joy to CCPAL Rescue. Joy is a 2 year old Great Pyranese. She weighs about 90 lb. She was adopted as a pup from the rescue. She was returned because she is protective of her owner. Joy is a Guardian breed. This is what this breed is bred to do. We would like someone that would like a guardian breed. This breed is a perfect flock dog. They can keep sheep, goat, chickens or any other flock safe from predators. She can also be a great family pet. She just needs to know who the alpha person is in the family and she will follow their lead. She is gentle, kennel trained, leash trained, doesn’t jump up and potty trained. She is a wonderful dog and will make some lucky family a great pet. She looks like a pure GP. She has the extra toe on the back feet which is indicative of this breed. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted in Texas. We can also work with one of our wonderful transport friends to get her to Washtington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org/ See her cute video.

Story
Welcome Athena to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2-year Great Pyrenees. She weighs about 90 pounds. She has a beautiful coat and the typical extra back toes commonly found in this breed. This is a guardian breed dog. They naturally will protect their flock or family. This breed will do best in a fully fenced yard as they will roam away if there is no fence. She is good with other dogs and will need some more leash work. She would be great with someone that knows the breed and loves it. She should have the natural tendencies of this breed. She had puppies and we adopted them out. We also adopted out the larger male that was found with her as a stray. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is up on her vaccines, healthy, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpal.info/ See her cute video!!

Story
Miss Jingle is a powerhouse of a livestock guarding dog! She is a very, very cool girl but she is not for everyone. Jingle is willing, driven, fun and just enough spicy to make her interesting. Jingle is wonderful in her crate and does well in the house. She is picky about her canine friends-if she loves them-she loves them! She does need to be the only dog in the home and is not a dog park kind of gal. She is not cat safe. Jingle has done well with the kids in her foster home but because of her size, older kids would be best.Jingle needs a home that understands she was bred for a purpose. She needs to work. It doesn't have to be guarding anything-she simply needs a job. Obedience? Tracking? Running companion? Agility? Her possibilities are endless! She is such an incredible dog. A dog person's dog. She deserves to live up to her potential. She needs to be appreciated for what she is and what she brings to the table Jingle is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations. She has also tested negative for heartworm disease. Her adoption fee is $400.00 plus sales tax. Please submit an adoption application if you would like to meet this incredible dog.

Story
This input comes from his caretaker in Texas, where he was while waiting to come up to MN. "This handsome fellow, Dreamer, arrived as a stray at the Mesquite Animal Shelter in TX on 10/4. He seemed underweight at 70 pounds, and is approx 3 years old. He must have lived mostly outside. He walks beautifully on a leash and did not seem reactive to the other dogs he was led past. He is submissive, well-mannered, calm and gentle. He doesn't jump on you. Dreamer has a low-key and chill personality. He is friendly and has such a pleasant demeanor. He was a-okay with having his thick soft fur stroked and being loved on. He wasn't interested in any of the treats we offered him. Dreamer was quite taken with scouting out the yard. " Updates from foster in MN: The information from the foster in TX is spot on. Additionally, Dreamer does know limited commands such as "sit". He does not come when called consistently, especially when he wants to stay outside. If he does not want to walk, he will brace himself and refuse (pyrenees are known to have a stubborn streak , and Dreamer is a Great Pyrenees mix). Taking his collar and being firm have worked. Dreamer can easily be a counter surfer, but so far with a close eye on him, there have been no issues in the kitchen. As Dreamer has gotten comfortable, he has played with a variety of toys and chases a tennis ball in the yard. He doesn’t quite bring it back but joyfully drops it as he is running back with it. He loves the yard and even will fall asleep outdoors in the sun. He will need to have a home with a secure fenced in yard. In TX, he learned how to open the gate. In MN, he has not attempted this. Dreamer is housetrained and has had no accidents in the house - he is just put out on schedule . He barks appropriately. It is not usually prolonged inside. Pyrenees are guardians and he does sometimes bark outdoors as a protector (is not aggressive) or simply in joy as he runs around. No inappropriate chewing. We have not seen him interact with cats or with children, but expect he would by OK with both. Because he's a big boy (he's up to 87#), we recommend any kids be 8 yr old and up. He has minimal experience riding in vehicles - the one time he was a passenger he was put into a crate and seemed uncomfortable with the ride. When left home, the fosters bribed him into a plastic crate with treats and he was OK for the 2 hrs he was left. He sleeps wherever he wants - either on a blanket on the floor of the kitchen or on a large dog bed near foster's bedroom. Dreamer is affectionate and will lean and nudge. He can take a person off-balance when he does this. At the same time, Dreamer is gentle. With a geriatric dog in the house, he was very careful around her, making sure he did not step on her, and gave her space to move around him. Dreamer is a terrific dog. It is clear he once had an owner that taught him some of the basics in manners! He has not shown any aggression towards people or animals, even when other animals have barked at him in close proximity. Dreamer's adoptive home needs a secure fenced yard to keep him safe. Any children in the home should be mature enough to monitor him at the door and at the gate when outside. He would benefit from obedience classes. Dreamer is neutered, and current on distemper, rabies and bordetella vaccinations. Tested heartworm negative. Had a dental cleaning in November - no extractions. Dreamer's adoption fee is $395 . Call 651-771-5662 if you are interested in him.

Story
Location: Buffalo, MN My name is York and my foster mom says I'm the most handsome boy she's ever seen. I'm pretty laid back and good with kids but I like to play (eat) with their toys just as much they do. I haven't had any accidents in the house and I'm learning to like my kennel at bedtime. I do pretty good with other dogs as long as I'm more dominant. I should not go to a home with kitties. ---------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (Distemper, Rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are a best guess.

Story
Hi, my name is Rhymes and I came from a shelter in Kentucky. From the foster: Logan is a good boy! He likes to chew bones, wrestle with our resident dog, take naps and he loves to bark! He's definitely in his teen years and can be a bit sassy, at times. Logan is a big boy who really likes people. However, due to his size and occasional mouthiness he'd do best in a home with older children. He also isn't super comfortable with small dogs. He would love to have a larger canine friend. He walks well on a leash but is working on some leash manners. He's a great big, lovable goofball who would do great with a family that wants to snuggle and play with him! Medical Bio: Hello, the first day I arrived in rescue, I appeared to have a seizure, so I was taken care of at an emergency vet, and The Bond Between, formally Secondhand Hounds. No clinical cause for this incident was found so I was cleared for adoption. That was 10 months ago and I haven't had a seizure since! The Rescue recommends seizure safe flea/tick/heartworm treatment for me out of an abundance of caution, but no other care should be needed for me prior to adoption. All other care will be the responsibility of the adopter.

Story
Hi, I'm Chewy! I'm from Kentucky. From the foster: Chewy, is well behaved, quiet dog, he had no issues meeting my resident dog and cats. At one point in the night him and my cat were playing and napping together on the sofa. He's very affectionate and wants to be around his caregiver constantly, but he knows when to give space as well. He still needs learn commands like sit and come, how to play fetch, so being off leash is not advisable until he learns to recall. He is potty trained and he will let you know, when he needs to go. We walks excellent on his leash, he's learning not to be squirrel or rabbit reactive, he focuses on dogs but he doesn't react to them, more of look and see. He's very affectionate and a shadow dog. Car rides are great, but getting out of the car is issues, but he will learn, I have a Jeep, so the jump is pretty high for new puppy to understand. Chewy is large dog, he doing well in my apartment, but my apartment is rather large, so he has room to move and play. I would suggest a fence in yard, as his recall is non existence at the moment. He likes to run, so getting him out to dog park or brisk walk is key/ slow jog not a marathon due to his size, he's low key for the most part.

Story
Hi, my name is Pyr-es and I'm from a shelter in Kentucky. From the foster: Pyres is an ~70 lb great pyrenees mix with a go with the flow personality. She is still learning about the world and can be startled or nervous by new sights and smells but with some guidance she is catching on quickly. She is doing well with potty training and wakes up 1-2x overnight to pee. She stays in a crate while we are at work but does bark so would not do well with shared walls. She enjoys hanging out in the backyard and also loves a daily walk. She walks well on a leash. She loves to play with other dogs her size and would be really happy to have a dog sibling to play with. If she has gotten some exercise, Pyres is happy to lay low at home with her humans. She enjoys chewing on bones and playing catch with her toys. She is very gentle with our toddler and loves to tuck him into bed or hang out near him. She does get a little bit nervous with quick movements - it will just take patience for her to feel safe!
