Story
Are you in search of an affectionate companion that gets along well with both dogs and cats? Thor is a sweet and gentle 9 nine month old pup eagerly seeking his forever family. Weighing in at 62 lbs., he’s likely near his full size. This boy enjoys playing with the resident dogs at his foster home and going on daily walks. He walks well on leash with no pulling or barking. While initially reserved when meeting new people, he warms up after a short time. Thor will often relax during the day in his crate, but at night, he prefers the freedom to sleep on dog beds near the resident dogs. He’s also been seen snuggling with the resident cats. If you are interested in adopting this sweet boy, please complete our application at 1luckydogrescue.org or reach out via email at olveiry@yahoo.com and share some information about the home you can offer Thor.

Story
Her story is compelling. She was literally saved by a shelter staff member (extremely rare) off the euthanization table who asked Lucky Dog to find a foster. She is truly a lucky dog! Like her namesake, this petite beauty is smart, talented and a rockstar. As she struts through the park she turns even human heads and she hums and sings and would love to dance ( puppy zoomies) in concert with her fellow dogs. She has not met a dog she does not love and if she gets too enthusiastic she immediately takes correction and will assume a lay down position to let the playmate know that she gets it. She has not been tested on cats yet but she does chase birds and squirrels. Her favorite activity though is to cuddle with her humans as often as possible. She seeks touch wherever it is offered and warms up to strangers immediately. She loves her morning and evening walks to balance her puppy energy and then is pretty much down for anything her humans want to do. She would love to be on your lap or wrapped around your neck but she is happy to sit at your feet if you work from home. She is starting her learning from scratch since she left the shelter and is learning very quickly! Everything is new and exciting to her and she is happy about life in general. Her foster is working on housebreaking (no accidents with hourly breaks and makes it through the night), crate training at night (goes right in the crate if in a humans room), walking/not pulling on the leash (getting it). She is learning simple commands like sit and stay. She has a bit of separation anxiety at this time and for this reason, she might do best with a work from home single person or family with a parent who is home often. She is a little fearful of smaller children at this time (which most likely will change) and since she is a puppy we are recommending she be in an environment with kids 6 and older (or an experienced dog family). She is intensely curious and seems to have an excellent sense of smell so a good fence and baby gates to limit roaming are important as she learns about boundaries. Even though she is quick to calm, she likes to talk and sing at times to voice her enthusiasm and/or disapproval so apartment living would not be for her. Also expect puppy behavior like mouthing many objects - even those that are forbidden or dangerous. However, having said that, her compliance and eagerness to please are outstanding. She is very treat motivated and SMART! She is 22 lbs and is close to full grown at 6 months. She is the best of a big dog in a little body. As a shelter mutt we can not say what her mix is but her foster thinks she could be a mix of husky (color, coat and voice) and an icelandic sheep dog (personality, loyalty, herding tendency and speed). Regardless of the exact heritage we are certain she will make an amazing life long buddy. Come rock with Avril anytime to see if she is the star you are looking for. Please complete application on our website, 1luckydogrescue.org or email olveiry@yahoo.com. Be sure to include some information about the type of home you will provide for Avril if you email us.

Story
** Hi! I'm GUS GUS and meeting me is a must must! ** I'm a Siberian Husky mix who is about 4 years old and weighs 60 lbs. Although I'm a mix, my DNA shows I'm 100% a good boy! Some of the things that make me such a good boy is that I take treats gently, walk well on leash, love getting pets on my soft red and white fur, and I love to just be in your company! I'm a shelter volunteer favorite, and any of my volunteer buddies will tell you how special I truly am. The best part of my day is when a volunteer pal comes up to my kennel to take me out to get some fresh air. I'm a happy-go-lucky boy who loves going for walks, training with treats, and playing with my fave toys. When I'm training with treats (especially those big Milk Bone ones!) I enjoy showing off the commands I know and I'm eager to learn more. Ask me to "sit, "come back, and go "down and I'll do so with my tail wagging, I pawmise! I know I can learn even more in my furever home. Even though I'm happy to just hang out and be by your side, I have a playful side and will get a good case of the zoomies. In fact, I love to run the fence line with most of the other shelter doggos and can probably outrun them too! ;) I think I'd make a pawsome brother and if you already have a dog, my staff friends will properly introduce us to see if we are comfortable with one another. Since I'm vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, I can go home with you today! I do have an eye condition that requires daily drops. But I'm such a good boy - you can administer them with no fuss, no muss! If you're looking for a companion to love you unconditionally, share your walks, cuddle with, and greet you with a warm welcome every time I see you, you *must must* come meet me soon! ## Gus Gus' neuter is being sponsored by TVAR ($35 adoption and, if applicable, licensing fees still apply) ## ## See video of Gus Gus at the end of the photo gallery! ## TVAR.org/find-your-pet-adopt/dogs-puppies/ Gus Gus' Shelter ID# is 82105. He's an adult, male, red and white, Siberian Husky mix. He currently weighs 60 lbs. He has already been vaccinated, neutered and microchipped and is ready to go to his new home! Gus Gus is located in kennel A-7. ** Age shown is an estimate only ** THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING If you are interested, please call the East County Animal Shelter at 925-803-7040 to see if this dog is still available.
