Story
Izzy is a friendly 3 year old spayed husky/heeler (42 lbs). She was raised for the first year with her brother and another bigger dog. That owner worked from home and Izzy had the other dogs so she wasn't used to being alone. I adopted her two years ago and she has been showing separation anxiety for over a year. She would do well with a owner who works from home or is retired and is familiar with velcro dogs. She is sweet and likes cuddles, playing and just being around people/dogs.House mates have kids under 5 years old and she just avoids them if they are playing rough with her. Cats not okay. Very good jumper/ runner, food motivated. She is crate trained and rarely barks even when housemates chihuahuas bark.Another dog would help but I don't have space. She just needs a pack, very good girl.

Mint Chip

Husky Alaskan Malamute

Male, 2 yrs 4 mos
Pleasant Hill, CA
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Volunteers describe him as playful, happy and great on leash. Favorite things: play fetch and loves water. His playstyle is Rough & Rowdy: involving lots of physical play such as grabbing, holding, and tumbling. It is typically mutual and often noisy. Human analogy: wrestling or rough housing. Socially, he's selective which means he can play with some dogs but not successfully with all dogs. He would do best in a home where he is the only object of his human's affection. Mint Chip is available for adoption at Contra Costa Animal Services in Martinez https://www.contracosta.ca.gov/7885/Available-Dogs

Story
Granite is a typical husky pup, full of energy and full of himself.  He rides well in the car but is a bit on the wild side when out and about.  He does need training but he is smart so will learn quickly.  Granite is a really sweet boy who has a lot of potential to be a great addition to a home. He will do well with an experienced husky savvy person.       April 10, 2025, 11:29 am
