Story
Dasher!  Inside this boy's wee head is a swirling spin of hearts & flowers. He's a bit of a baby brain, meaning: Simple/uncomplicated. Sweet and highly affectionate.  Obedient, kind, hopeful and in-your-lap affectionate. Drop the stereotypes. He's a Husky/Shepherd type dog but is not an escape artist, he doesn't howl. He's a bit of a nerd who wants to belong, so stays close to his people and nudges in for head rubs when he can. He's been such an easy keeper that he gets to leave his kennel at the Rescue Barn and join us for little field trips in our house. Nicely house trained, and very well behaved around all the dogs on the property. You can see his play style on our Instagram Page. He 2-or-so years old and would love to live with kids and another dog would be great too. Send an email and let's compare notes.

Story
Echo is a chill, smart and loving dog that settled in quickly and smoothly into his foster home. Highly trainable, and polite on a leash, he catches on quite quickly to instructions and loves his structure. He enjoys a typical day playing and socializing, having a blast on his multiple daily walks, and cuddling up at night on the couch. He is a homebody at night, and oh boy he loves his outings during the day. Echo loves to run! His foster sibling can attest to the fact that he is comfortable with other dogs and would make a fantastic doggy sibling. He is not particularly fond of toys or bones, but he sure loves his food! He must have some awesome doggy dreams because he sleeps like an angel. He thrives with patient, caring people who are comfortable going slow with his physical space, so he'd be best-suited with older, dog-savvy kids. (He warmed up fast in his patient and caring foster home.) He prefers to be with people than to be alone, so he’ll be one happy boy if he gets to be your working buddy! Echo (51 pounds) will be the happiest dog in a home that can provide patience, continued socialization and training, and lots of exercise with plenty of love thrown in. Could you be that family? Apply to adopt Echo today! (SG)

Story
Loki is a 4 year old husky mix who came to Rocket Dog after his owner passed away. Loki has been living with his friend Quinn. They rely on each other for comfort and companionship, and must be adopted together. These dogs are typical huskies - active, energetic, vocal, and playful - but they have great training and would adapt well to a home environment. They would do best in a home who has experience with huskies or has done the necessary research and prepared themselves for caring for these special dogs. Loki is an extra-large guy and does need to lose some weight. He currently weighs in at around 110 pounds.

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog H:2Meet Naomi, a sweet and smart husky mix, 42 pounds and full of potential! This young girl is a quick learner who's already mastering commands like come, sit, paw, down, and shake. She's highly responsive and is eager for treats, making training sessions a breeze. On walks, Naomi shines with excellent leash manners, taking light, relaxed steps and recovering swiftly from any minor pulling. She's polite and affectionate, offering gentle face licks and resting her head sweetly in your lap for pets. She's tuned in and eager to connect with people, easy to handle, and endearing. She plays nicely with other dogs at the shelter and would do well with another dog buddy at home, or shine as your one-and-only with the occasional play date. Naomi would be a great partner for enrichment games, cozy cuddles, and adventures where her husky spirit can shine. Come meet Naomi and fall in love at first paw!  November 30, 2025, 3:52 pm

This 1-year-old, 47-pound husky mix has a zest for life. He's a playful goofball who loves chase games with dog friends, and would enjoy an active home where he can run, explore, and learn. Sprinter would thrive with appropriately matched dogs, or could be a happy solo pup with doggy pals to visit. Sprinter walks fast on leash (with the occasional enthusiastic pull!), but will wait for you to catch up. He’s affectionate, curious, and eager to be where the action is, whether that's a beach walk or a cuddle session. He’s still working on puppy manners like playful jumping and mouthing, but he’s a quick learner and very eager to please. Ideal adopters will enjoy keeping up with his fun-loving spirit and helping him continue to grow into the best boy.
