Story
*** Hi there! I'm Cory, your future best bud! *** I'm a lovable Siberian Husky mix who is approximately 7 - 8 months old and weighs 47 lbs. Some of my volunteer friends like to call me a "love bug for the way I love to give love and love to be loved on! I have yet to meet a hooman I don't instantly love! I will roll over on my back for belly scratches and, even on my way to my favorite place (the yard), I won't turn down head pats and belly rubs from my volunteer friends or my pawsible future pawrents who visit the shelter! Sometimes I get overly excited and like to greet them with my hops and jumps but I am learning to have more manners. I can't help it because I do love to give my hooman pals hugs, but I respond quickly once I'm told "off. I can barely contain my excitement when a volunteer friend comes to take me out to play in the yard! It'd be best if my forever home had a safe and secure backyard for us to enjoy together! I love to run, say hello to some of my fellow shelter dog pals, and be expressive with my "I'm so excited to be running with you barks or, as some may say, my "husky talk. In between running around in the yard and playing with toys, I also love to practice the skills I've learned, like "sit, "lie down, "come back, "drop it, and taking my tasty treats gently. Not bad for a young pup, right? I still have a lot of learning to do, and a little patience, consistency, and training goes a long way with me. I'm excited to learn even more when I finally get to go home with my future best bud! If you've ever heard the saying "a dog is wo/man's best friend, I think I know why! I am happy to cuddle with you, be adventurous outdoors with you, be the funnest part of your daily routine, and keep you company no matter what we're doing, so long as we're together. I think I'd make the bestest dog friend to my new pawrent and I'm so excited for my next chapter to start - could it be with you? Since I'm already microchipped, vaccinated, and neutered our adventures can start right away! I can't wait to meet my future best bud! Cory's Shelter ID# is 81188. He's an approximately 7- to 8-month-old, male, black and white, Siberian Husky mix. He currently weighs 47 lbs. He has already been vaccinated, neutered and microchipped and is ready to go to his new home! Cory is located in kennel A-8. ## Cory's neuter is being sponsored by TVAR ($35 adoption and, if applicable, licensing fees still apply) ## ## See video of Cory at the end of the photo gallery! ## TVAR.org/find-your-pet-adopt/dogs-puppies/ ** Age shown is an estimate only ** THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING If you are interested, please call the East County Animal Shelter at 925-803-7040 to see if this dog is still available.

Story
Are you in search of an affectionate companion that gets along well with both dogs and cats? Thor is a sweet and gentle 9 nine month old pup eagerly seeking his forever family. Weighing in at 62 lbs., he’s likely near his full size. This boy enjoys playing with the resident dogs at his foster home and going on daily walks. He walks well on leash with no pulling or barking. While initially reserved when meeting new people, he warms up after a short time. Thor will often relax during the day in his crate, but at night, he prefers the freedom to sleep on dog beds near the resident dogs. He’s also been seen snuggling with the resident cats. If you are interested in adopting this sweet boy, please complete our application at 1luckydogrescue.org or reach out via email at olveiry@yahoo.com and share some information about the home you can offer Thor.

Story
Gibby is very friendly with people likes car rides going on walks and runs and taking naps. He is good in the house and prefers to be inside during the day. He is house trained and exhibits no destructive behavior to belongings or furniture. He likes to be with people all day and can stay in a crate for periods of time. He is a gentle guy and very trainable. He knows 'sit' and 'leave it' and is very obedient. He loves playing with dogs his size and has learned to coexist with small dogs as well. Gibson's exercise needs are low maintenance for his breed. He will sleep at your feet while you work from home or watch you cook and do chores. He has gone out dining and out shopping- he loves to meet people. He loves hikes and long walks and enjoys using the obstacle course at the dog park. He would be a great companion and enjoys being with other dogs. He plays with other friendly big dogs at the dog park and attends doggy daycare. Gibson does use a crate but uses it crated near another dog while I am gone. Gibson would do best with a person or family who is frequently home or has another dog to keep him company as he does not do well by himself. He presents a prey drive - someone familiar with the husky breed will be a great match! No small animals cats or rural homes with livestock (cows sheep). He has learned to leave it with cats and squirrels on walks and will listen to command. Must have strong person able to handle him on leash when he does pull. Gibson does well with respectful kids of all ages. We are helping Gibby's current guardian to rehome him. Please fill out our online application and we will forward to them. Adoption fee would be minimum $100 donation to Furry Friends Rescue. If you have specific questions please send them through and we will put you in touch with his current guardian.YouTube: https://youtu.be/kfFAC9ev8UsJune 19, 2024, 1:06 pm

Story
Neena (was Tootsie) was at a distant and very crowded shelter for a long time and her time was running out. When volunteers took her out she was friendly and great with all the dogs on leash and in dog play groups (off leash). Did great with transporter. She is very skinny and needs to put on weight. Once out at her foster home on 11/17/21 she was nervous but warmed up fast to her foster home but not to their female husky. She was guarding and reactive to their dog at home. Got into a few dog fights. They are keeping them separate and giving her time to adjust. 11/28/21 Update: Took about a week but Neena is now doing fine at her foster home and with their other female dog. She is the top dog at their home. They love their walks and hanging out. They do feed in seperate areas. She still need more basic and leash training. 1/12/22 Update: Still working on leash training to teach her to stop pulling and not be so excited when seeing other dogs while on walks. 3/28/22 Update: Foster hasn't attempted to test Neena with cats however they can see Neena has a strong prey drive so if the cat runs it is expected Neena would chase. She is now great with foster home's female husky.June 19, 2024, 1:06 pm

He got his first vet care and now learning at his foster home and puppy trainer. Cutie Robin is very sweet friendly and loves playing with other pups. Doing great and cuddly. Robin loves to follow his person around. He is enjoying his healthy foods and treats. Need husky experienced guardian and home with fenced yard. We have tried different high quality and holistic foods (kibble and can) but he has a sensitive GI and got loose stools. He had a stool sample test and negative. He does best eating Raw diet mix (frozen patties or freeze dry raw from Stella & Chewy and other brands). No runny stools when he eats raw diet.June 19, 2024, 1:06 pm

Story
The 4 musketeers puppies: Aramis Athos D Artagnan and Porthos. On Feb. 17th SASA contacted us to rescue these 4 bottle babies that were found dumped in a box on the side of a road. They were just a few days old and would have died. Huge thanks to our Hero Bottle Baby foster home. She took them in and they thrived. All super adorable. Their eyes opened at about 3 weeks old. They are still bottle feeding (raw goat's milk and puppy replacement milk) and went to their 2nd bottle puppy foster home on 3/9/24. Soon they will be licking slurry mix. More info. to come as they keep growing. They look to be huskies and will be available when 8 weeks old on April 13th and get their vet care (exam vaccinations deworm microchip). Video: https://www.facebook.com/reel/2044996872540433 3/10/24: They 3 1/2 weeks old and are in their hero bottle puppy foster home until they start eating solids at about 6-7 weeks. 3/31/24: They are 6 1/2 weeks old. They went to our vet for their first exams vaccinations and microchip. Pairs are now relaxing and learning at two foster homes for puppy training. Ready after 8 weeks old. We are learning more about their personality as they grow. Please read and research the adult Husky breed and their exercise needs. As large adults they will need more exercise. Will be great hiking buddies. Most want be around someone or have another dog at home as pack.June 19, 2024, 1:06 pm
