Story
*** Hi there! I'm happy-go-lucky Jasper! *** I'm a handsome Siberian Husky/Shepherd mix who is estimated to be around 3 years old and weighs 48 lbs. Jasper is the perfect name for me because, like the gem I'm named for, I'm known for my "glittering personality, "colorful coat, and trademark "precious smile! I'm excited to show my new family I am all this and more! My volunteer buddies will tell you that I am also outgoing, happy, and as sweet as the pupsicles I get to enjoy during enrichment! The best part of my day is when a volunteer buddy comes up to my kennel to take me out for a walk and playtime. I walk well on my leash, with an occasional stop to sniff and to read and send pee-mails to my shelter pals. In the yard I enjoy running along the yard fence with certain other doggos. My volunteer friends always tell me I'm a smart boy! I love to show off my skills on our agility equipment in the yard (you should see me on the ramp!), I sit very easily, and come back when called. I especially love learning new tricks, and of course getting a treat! That treat could be something yummy, cuddles and pets, or a good ol' squeaky toy! I love squeaky toys so much I've been known to try to hide them outside when I'm in the yard. I'm also quite the socialite and you'll find me greeting every hooman who comes my way with happy tail wags and a smile that will melt your heart. Sometimes during the zoomies I get in the yard, I'll check on my volunteer pal and lean in for some cuddles. My volunteer buddies say they rarely see me without a smile on my face. The only time I may not have a smile is when I see cats. I'm very curious about them and it would be best if there weren't any in my new home. Although I can be quite exuberant in my kennel, it's because I really don't like being in there - I'd much rather be visiting with you! If you take me home, I will follow your lead and I'm eager to make my new furever family happy! If you're looking for a lovable boy who will make a great companion and be right by your side for adventures outdoors or sweet calming cuddles indoors, I'm your guy! Let's spend some time together and see if we are pawsibly a good match! ** Jasper would be best suited for a home with adults and teens ** ## See video of Jasper at the end of the photo gallery ## TVAR.org/find-your-pet-adopt/dogs-puppies/ Jasper's Shelter ID# is 80920. He's an adult, male, black and brown, Siberian Husky mix. He currently weighs 48 lbs. He has already been vaccinated, neutered and microchipped and is ready to go to his new home! Jasper is located in kennel A-5. ** Age shown is an estimate only ** THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING If you are interested, please call the East County Animal Shelter at 925-803-7040 to see if this dog is still available.

Story
*** Hello! I'm Bandit and I'll steal your heart! *** I'm a Siberian Husky mix who is about 6 years old and weighs 52 lbs. It's very likely that I was named Bandit because I will capture your heart with my cuddles, handsome face, soft black and white fur, gentleness, playfulness, and sunny disposition. I'm a shelter volunteer favorite, and any of my volunteer buddies will tell you how special I truly am. The best part of my day is when a volunteer pal comes up to my kennel to take me out to grab some rays. I am happiest when I'm being loved on and once you start giving me a head massage, I'll lay down for some belly rubs! I love training with treats, especially those jerky ones, and I take them very gently. I enjoy showing off the commands I know and I'm eager to learn more. Ask me to "sit, "come back, "drop, and go "down and I'll steal the spotlight, I pawmise! Even though I'm happy to just hang out and be by your side (I've been known to nab plenty of kisses), I have a playful side and will play fetch, get the zoomies in the yard, and I love a good squeaky toy! While I'm in the yard, I've also been caught red-pawed running along the fence with many of the other shelter doggos. If you already have a dog, while I think I'd make a Pawsome brother, it's important that we meet so that my staff friends can do a proper introduction to see if we might be compatible together. Since I'm already vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped I can go home with you today! So, if you're looking for a companion to love you unconditionally, share your walks, cuddle with, and greet you with a warm welcome every time I see you, please come meet me. But don't be surprised if I steal your heart! ## See video of Bandit at the end of the photo gallery! ## TVAR.org/find-your-pet-adopt/dogs-puppies/ Bandit's Shelter ID# is 80804. Story
Gibby is very friendly with people likes car rides going on walks and runs and taking naps. He is good in the house and prefers to be inside during the day. He is house trained and exhibits no destructive behavior to belongings or furniture. He likes to be with people all day and can stay in a crate for periods of time. He is a gentle guy and very trainable. He knows 'sit' and 'leave it' and is very obedient. He loves playing with dogs his size and has learned to coexist with small dogs as well. Gibson's exercise needs are low maintenance for his breed. He will sleep at your feet while you work from home or watch you cook and do chores. He has gone out dining and out shopping- he loves to meet people. He loves hikes and long walks and enjoys using the obstacle course at the dog park. He would be a great companion and enjoys being with other dogs. He plays with other friendly big dogs at the dog park and attends doggy daycare. Gibson does use a crate but uses it crated near another dog while I am gone. Gibson would do best with a person or family who is frequently home or has another dog to keep him company as he does not do well by himself. He presents a prey drive - someone familiar with the husky breed will be a great match! No small animals cats or rural homes with livestock (cows sheep). He has learned to leave it with cats and squirrels on walks and will listen to command. Must have strong person able to handle him on leash when he does pull. Gibson does well with respectful kids of all ages. We are helping Gibby's current guardian to rehome him. Please fill out our online application and we will forward to them. Adoption fee would be minimum $100 donation to Furry Friends Rescue. If you have specific questions please send them through and we will put you in touch with his current guardian.YouTube: https://youtu.be/kfFAC9ev8UsMay 4, 2024, 12:58 pm

Story
Neena (was Tootsie) was at a distant and very crowded shelter for a long time and her time was running out. When volunteers took her out she was friendly and great with all the dogs on leash and in dog play groups (off leash). Did great with transporter. She is very skinny and needs to put on weight. Once out at her foster home on 11/17/21 she was nervous but warmed up fast to her foster home but not to their female husky. She was guarding and reactive to their dog at home. Got into a few dog fights. They are keeping them separate and giving her time to adjust. 11/28/21 Update: Took about a week but Neena is now doing fine at her foster home and with their other female dog. She is the top dog at their home. They love their walks and hanging out. They do feed in seperate areas. She still need more basic and leash training. 1/12/22 Update: Still working on leash training to teach her to stop pulling and not be so excited when seeing other dogs while on walks. 3/28/22 Update: Foster hasn't attempted to test Neena with cats however they can see Neena has a strong prey drive so if the cat runs it is expected Neena would chase. She is now great with foster home's female husky.May 4, 2024, 12:58 pm

A kind person saved him when he was left in a box at a parking lot. From an accidental litter due to parents not being sp/n. They work full time and contacted us to take him in. He got his first vet care and now learning at his foster home and puppy trainer. Cutie Robin is very sweet friendly and loves playing with other pups. Doing great and cuddly. Robin loves to follow his person around. He is enjoying his healthy foods and treats. Need husky experienced guardian and home with fenced yard. We have tried different high quality and holistic foods (kibble and can) but he has a sensitive GI and got loose stools. He had a stool sample test and negative. He does best eating Raw diet mix (frozen patties or freeze dry raw from Stella & Chewy and other brands). No runny stools when he eats raw diet.May 4, 2024, 12:58 pm

Story
The 4 musketeers puppies: Aramis Athos D Artagnan and Porthos. On Feb. 17th SASA contacted us to rescue these 4 bottle babies that were found dumped in a box on the side of a road. They were just a few days old and would have died. Huge thanks to our Hero Bottle Baby foster home. She took them in and they thrived. All super adorable. Their eyes opened at about 3 weeks old. They are still bottle feeding (raw goat's milk and puppy replacement milk) and went to their 2nd bottle puppy foster home on 3/9/24. Soon they will be licking slurry mix. More info. to come as they keep growing. They look to be huskies and will be available when 8 weeks old on April 13th and get their vet care (exam vaccinations deworm microchip). Video: https://www.facebook.com/reel/2044996872540433 3/10/24: They 3 1/2 weeks old and are in their hero bottle puppy foster home until they start eating solids at about 6-7 weeks. 3/31/24: They went to our vet for their first exams vaccinations and microchip. Pairs are now relaxing and learning at two foster homes for puppy training. Ready after 8 weeks old. We are learning more about their personality as they grow. Please read and research the adult Husky breed and their exercise needs. As large adults they will need more exercise. Will be great hiking buddies. Most want be around someone or have another dog at home as pack. 4/7/24: 7 weeks old. They have been doing great at pottying outside or on the pee pad - I think we have only had 2 accidents. Also they are sleeping perfectly through the night I only get up once in the middle of the night to let them go potty. Athos is a little chiller and more affectionate with people. Porthos is more playful loves toys and a bit more independent. They have been so sweet and so easy compared to our last foster... Pups personality so far: Athos is the first one to settle down to nap; Porthos is higher energy and will wake up first and wake Athos up. Athos is slightly more vocal but they are both vocal :) Porthos is more mischievous and curious I already see him looking for escape routes out of the pen. Athos also seems to be the bossier one... Porthos backs down but Athos seems to be the more dominant (despite being smaller). 4/22/24 Update: Porthos is sweet playful and friendly! He loves all toys loves to play and is super affectionate with people. He is very food motivated and has been easy to train because he is so eager. He is the follower - often following whatever his brother or our dog does. He is definitely more active than his brother and more playful and bold with our dog - I think he would do best having another dog in the household as a playmate and for company. Porthos is also more vocal than his brother he definitely likes to be heard :) He is smart and already learned commands for Sit Down and go to Crate.May 4, 2024, 12:58 pm

He doesn't seek out attention from people quite as much as Porthos but is very affectionate - he is content being held by anyone quieter and settles down quickly. He is mostly only interested in our dog when his brother is playing with her so I think he would be fine as the only dog with an active owner/family. He is more independent and less eager to please than his brother a little bit slower on the training :) but is very sweet and chill.May 4, 2024, 12:58 pm
