Learn more hereMeet Luther, the lovable senior gentleman who exudes warmth and charm at every turn! At 7 years young, Luther is the epitome of sweetness, making him the wonderful companion for anyone seeking a loyal and affectionate friend. This mellow boy is crate trained and well-behaved in the home, enjoying quiet moments by your side. While Luther can be vocal around other dogs, his behavior has improved over time, especially with regular attendance at shelter playgroups. He would thrive in a foster home with another social dog that enjoys gentle games of chase.Luther's easygoing nature extends to all aspects of his personality. He's friendly, housebroken, and adores sleeping at his human's feet after a bit of playtime. Squeaky toys bring him joy, and he knows basic commands like sit and focus. Plus, he's not one to jump or counter surf, making him a low-maintenance addition to any home. Although Luther is recovering from a recent health issue, his spirits remain high, and he's ready to find his forever home. While he may be reactive to small animals, his love for walks shines through as he strolls calmly on the leash. With some patience and training, Luther's leash manners will only continue to improve. Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog J:2Hi there, I'm Stacy, a sweet and shy girl learning to embrace the world around me. I may be a bit timid at first, but once I warm up, I'm full of love and curiosity. I adore playing with other dogs, especially with my sister by my side. Exploring new places is exciting, although I might get startled easily. With a patient and understanding friend, I'm learning to walk more confidently on leash, though I still appreciate gentle reminders and encouragement. Guess what? I've made amazing progress—I now trust enough to take treats right from your hand! I’d love to be in a home with another social dog or as the solo dog. If you're looking for a loyal companion to help me continue on this journey of growth and confidence, I'd love to be a part of your loving home. Let's discover the world together!
