Story
Meet Big, Beautiful Jax! This handsome 3 - 4 year old boy weighs about 70 lbs and has a beautiful saddleback coat. Jax came to NorSled from a crowded Central Valley shelter, just in time. He was scheduled to be euthanized simply due to lack of space. When he arrived, we discovered he had an old ankle injury. We don’t know how it happened, but it was long past the point of repair. As time went on, it became clear the injury was worsening and causing him pain. The kindest, most compassionate choice was amputation. Jax is now absolutely thriving as a tripod.  He’s the same lovable, easy-going, happy boy he’s always been, just now pain-free and living his best life.  He adores people. He loves other dogs. Truly, he hasn’t met a human or pup he doesn’t like! Jax is potty trained, crate trained, and enjoys short walks and soaking up the outdoors. He’s gentle, friendly, and one of the happiest souls you’ll ever meet. Tripod life hasn’t slowed him down one bit - it’s only given him a brighter, more comfortable future. If you’re looking for a big, beautiful best friend with a heart of gold, Jax is ready to meet you.             March 7, 2026, 1:35 pm

Story
Meet Winter – Handsome, Loyal, and Full of Heart Winter is a strikingly handsome husky mix who turns heads wherever he goes - but it’s his loyal, thoughtful nature that truly makes him special. Once he bonds with a trusted human, he’s all affection—seeking out pets, attention, and quiet companionship and is very protective. Winter is housebroken and well-mannered. He’s easy to leash and absolutely loves his walks, though he may pull a bit during the first mile (he’s just that excited!).   Winter would thrive in a calm, loving home with someone who understands his gentle soul and husky quirks.  Older, respectful kids only, because he's strong - and did we mention affectionate? He’s ready to be someone’s devoted adventure buddy and cuddle companion.      March 7, 2026, 1:35 pm

Story
Meet Éclair — a gentle soul with the sweetest heart.      This stunning 2-year-old shepherd husky (shepskie) is as soft on the inside as her name suggests. Éclair is shy at first and takes some time to trust new people, but once she feels safe, she melts into the most loyal, cuddly companion. She absolutely loves snuggling with her people and thrives in a calm, patient, loving home.  Her foster mom can’t resist cuddling next to her soft fluffy fur for loads of comfort and love.    Éclair is wonderful with other dogs and peacefully coexists with cats — she’s a respectful, easygoing girl.  She is a quiet dog and rarely barks and will occasionally howl with her husky buddies.     Eclair would be most comfortable in a home that had another dog(s) - she is trusting of other dogs of all breeds and bonds quickly to canines.    Loud or busy public spaces can make her nervous, but she’s making steady progress and just needs a family willing to continue building her confidence at her pace.     She enjoys spending her days outdoors exploring and relaxing, then happily comes inside at night to be close to her people. Because of this, she’ll do best in a home with a secure yard where she can feel safe and settled.  She can be left alone during the day without incident and would be happier with a companion dog to play and fill her days.  Éclair is spayed, fully vaccinated, and ready for a quiet home that will give her the love, patience, and stability she deserves. If you’re looking for a tender, devoted companion who will bond deeply and love you endlessly, Éclair may be your perfect match.  Click here to watch a video of Eclair.      March 7, 2026, 10:28 pm

Story
Beans is an elegant husky mix with a very sweet and friendly disposition. She is eager to find a forever home where she can be the center of attention. Here is a description from her foster family: "Pinto Beans, who we call Beans or “Beanie”, she responds to both, is an absolute doll. She has acclimated easily to life outside of the kennel. She is well-behaved at home and can be left on her own. We like to keep music on for her when we leave. She loves walks and hikes and can be off-leash under voice control! She knows commands like wait and stay, and has great recall. At home, she loves to snuggle on the bed with us, but will lay in her bed if told to. She likes to play with toys and will do Zoomies on hikes. She is friendly and curious with other dogs, especially other huskies." Due to her high prey drive, she’s best suited for a home without small animals—including small dogs or cats. She thrives in a calm, structured environment with experienced owners who understand her breed’s instincts. &#226&#156&#168 Highlights: Unique parti eye and gorgeous coat Affectionate and eager to bond Best as the only pet in the home Needs a secure yard and regular exercise Up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed Beans is ready to be your loyal companion and adventure buddy. If you’re looking for a striking, spirited dog with a sweet soul, Beans might just be your perfect match.             March 7, 2026, 1:35 pm
